Like most people on here you just talk in riddles and cliches with nothing to back up what you're saying.
I think you might find libel laws prevent public defamation .
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Possible Takeover on: Yesterday at 21:52:15
Why should anyone take you seriously unless you provide details?
You must think I came up the Nene in a bucket.
All I am saying is be careful what you wish for - if we are indeed close to a takeover at all that is .
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Possible Takeover on: Yesterday at 21:39:30
Do you know the bloke personally or have a reason for saying this?
Yep .
Be careful what you wish for .
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Forest Green Rovers - 13 Oct 18 on: Yesterday at 21:32:21
I don't and obviously he wouldn't be, not if he was 'looking along the line'.

Players often don't know if they are onside/have caught a player offside. More often than not they do, but to know all the time or even close to it is nigh on impossible.

Flagging offside's can be a thankless task, because some are much easier to call right than others. It can happen that however well the linesman is positioned he may not be able to make a call correctly, and this can be especially true for long passes in open play. While linesmen get it right more often than not they often also get it wrong and sometimes quite badly.

Ultimately the result made the decision irrelevant anyway.
As a centre half myself for over 40 years , I always knew if a player had been caught offside or not . Itís your job to know .
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Possible Takeover on: Yesterday at 09:05:48
Any reason for saying that? Or just opinion
Thereís quite a number of people that know him that watch NTFC ...... I will wait for any positive comments

I forgot about your meeting, with that care home bloke.  Wink
If JS takes us over , God help us
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Forest Green Rovers - 13 Oct 18 on: Yesterday at 08:25:37
That was a weird one. It sounded like the whistle had gone and most of the players (including possibly Waters) weren't sure if play was meant to be going on or whether the free-kick was going to be bought back. (edit: In fact you can tell on the highlights that the ref blew his whistle after Buchanan played the ball and this caused some confusion, a terrible piece of refereeing for sure.) Waters still could have done better though as it was ultimately a decent opening, but I certainly wouldn't describe the chance as a 'sitter' by any means.

Edit: To Waters' credit I recall him showing good composure and making space for a shot for himself on a couple of occasions, one which worked the keeper and one which took a deflection and looped past the goal out for a corner, neither of which are on the extended highlights. I've got a feeling he's got goals in him for us this season.

He was definitely onside and it was poor defending all the way from the header that went straight to their player to the goalkeeper that made a hash of it by coming out too far
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Mark Cooper on: October 14, 2018, 01:02:46 am
Cooper implied his team were the better footballing side .
We were playing that way and not winning .
Iím afraid in division 2 , you have to be direct and force mistakes .
You need exceptional players if you are going to football your way out of that division and we havenít got them
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Kevin van Veen on: October 14, 2018, 00:57:08 am
Exactly, well put.

Expirance also has a lot to do with this too. That maybe one of the biggest differences between Curle and Austin.

Austin needed a platform to learn and make his own mistakes, just us and niw was not tge pkay form for doing that. Curle had been there and done that and commands respect. Of fours this does not guarantee success but definatly helps.
Hope you had a good night out Glasto ! Smiley
The hardest part of management is dealing with people that you donít see eye to eye with. But you donít have to get on with someone to get the best out of them . You just have to respect they are motivated by different things and tap into that for the greater good
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Forest Green Rovers - 13 Oct 18 on: October 14, 2018, 00:42:43 am
Quest gave an indication that he was offside (as did the Chron); day in row K155 seat so was virtually in line with Reid before  he received the ball. The point is the lines man was caught out of position. All irrelevant now but had the Lino been up with play there may well been a flag.  Unless you were level with the player all opinions are subjective
I just wondered what tv coverage showed it because I have only seen Sky and itís inconclusive .
I have defended Cornell but he didnít deal with it too well . Should have gone through the ball and not stopped . Or stayed in his area .
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Head Down Hoskins on: October 13, 2018, 23:51:22 pm
Didnít have his best game today but was unlucky with a few of those offside decisions .
He and Williams seem to have very little understanding
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Kevin van Veen on: October 13, 2018, 23:46:02 pm
Getting the best out of people is an enormous part of management in any industry .
You can have as many badges and certificates as you like but there is no qualification for dealing with people .
If Curly can work with the characters on our side and get them performing as a team , we have a chance.
Van Veen is top of that list because he is awkward and an enigma .
Today , he was up for it and looked a class above .
Hopefully Curly has the skill to get the best out of him full time .
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Forest Green Rovers - 13 Oct 18 on: October 13, 2018, 23:35:56 pm
Having seen all the replays Reid looked off side by at least a yard.
Which replay shows the offside because the Sky one doesnít ?
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The 'Clare Balding' POTS: Forest Green Rovers (h) 13/10/2018 on: October 13, 2018, 18:26:22 pm
Van Veen changed the game and was the stand out player
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Kevin van Veen on: October 13, 2018, 17:22:36 pm
Changed the game
If he played like that every week , he would be the best player in division 2 !
Hopefully Curly has got into his head
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Forest Green Rovers - 13 Oct 18 on: October 13, 2018, 17:16:55 pm
How sweet was that - that kind of thing hardly ever happens to us! Even sweeter that it was against that mouthy tw*t Cooper who showed what kind of a man he is when he dashed off down the tunnel as soon as Williamsí shot hit the back of the net!
That was so sweet after his touch line antics and the way he always gets his teams to waste time .
Hilarious .
It was also retribution that their defender who started that fracas lost them the game by losing the ball to Van Veen .
Happy days
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Forest Green Rovers - 13 Oct 18 on: October 13, 2018, 16:30:02 pm
Credit to the players and manager - we stepped up in the second half and pulled this round .
The first half was terrible and it wasnít entirely down to the wind . We could not hold the ball or string two passes together as players kept attempting Hollywood balls .
In the second half we worked harder and pressed much better .
Van Veen made all the difference when he came on and never gave up on anything . Surely he has to start now .
We deserved it in the end and letís hope this springboards us on .
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Forest Green Rovers - 13 Oct 18 on: October 12, 2018, 17:40:06 pm
I am not saying players canít convert position but sometimes they can look great the first time they play there and then get totally exposed as teams work out their weaknesses .
This happens so often with wing backs .
Looking at what we have now , I do think Moloney left a year too early , despite his injury issues . He was an excellent link player going forward
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Injury Updates.... on: October 12, 2018, 00:21:06 am
Heís definitely avoiding the Taylor question !
Fair enough though - heís been poor
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Forest Green Rovers - 13 Oct 18 on: October 12, 2018, 00:19:28 am
Interesting to see who starts this game .
I think he will play VV with Hoskins up front although it didnít work versus Bury.
Facey , Turnbull and Pierre at the back with McWilliams and Buchs .
Personally I would rather see McWilliams alongside Foley in midfield , crooks pushing on and JJOT on the bench .
I just hope someone doesnít take us apart with players out of position.
