1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January Window - Rumours, Ins and Outs on: Yesterday at 15:00:13
It's called having an opinion... Grin

I agree, no need get personal with any player, but the facts do speak for themselves...

No idea what type of character he is in the dressing room, but it's plain to see when he plays, the whole team are alot more anxious esp the defensive unit as a whole.

Oh, and Austin did not refuse to let him go in the Summer, there was simply no interest from any clubs regarding AT (direct from DA on twitter)

I just hope he moves on for all concerned as we're certainly not getting value for the money with his performances this season so far...
Austin did refuse to let Taylor go because he wanted to leave . There may well have been no offers like there were no acceptable offers for other players , but the fact is they didnít want to lose him .
Iím not here to defend Taylor but donít present supposition as fact
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January Window - Rumours, Ins and Outs on: Yesterday at 13:52:46
what doesn't help him is the way he publicly berates fellow players when the goals have gone in.  i have no idea what he is saying, but it doesn't seem to be overly positive or motivational to me.

the stats don't lie, without him, we have had significantly better results this season.
So does Buchanan and Matt Taylor did the same .
Often Buchanan throws his arms up at something which he could have prevented !
You donít know , unless you play in the team how this may or may not affect people.
Taylor is not a terrible player like say for example Sinclair or Alfei but is out of form . I think Sampson hasnít helped his cause by publicly slating him on the radio.
Heís got 18 months to go and I doubt heís off in this window so heís here for a while .
Letís compare Jay Williams to Taylor when he comes up against a bruiser who can head the ball.
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January Window - Rumours, Ins and Outs on: Yesterday at 13:13:05
There really is a lot of unqualified rubbish talked on here about Taylor which people spout off as though it is gospel truth .
You really do have no idea whether he is a good or bad influence on the team unless you are in that changing room. I would suggest not many know what sort of character he is or whether he is a positive person in the team.
He must have something going for him to be named captain and for Austin to refuse to let him go in the summer .
I am not particularly defending his performances this season, the statistics donít lie and he travels from Merseyside but he did perform well last season when all is said and done.
I just think the criticism is a bit over the top .
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January Window - Rumours, Ins and Outs on: January 14, 2019, 20:39:21 pm
Well I can't remeber anyone saying it would happen straight away.

But the only reason Curle would not replace him in the next 14 says is if he has already written this season off, this having a proper go in the summer.

Hilarious back tracking .
Where are all the others hiding in the woodwork that were so sure KC would replace our keeper ?
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January Window - Rumours, Ins and Outs on: January 14, 2019, 18:28:11 pm
Turnbull and Pierre are way above the level of Taylor. I'd rather see Jay Williams play alongside those two week in week out over Taylor, and he's still very raw and likely to make mistakes - but probably still not half as many as Taylor.
The problem is Taylor is in big wages and no one will match them .
He also lives and travels from Merseyside .
He will be difficult to shift .
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January Window - Rumours, Ins and Outs on: January 14, 2019, 18:24:57 pm
I'm not sure many said it would be the first thing he would do - but have patience dear boy.

It will happen!
I think you will find a number of people on here said that Cornell would be immediately replaced in the January window .
He hasnít been and wonít be .
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January Window - Rumours, Ins and Outs on: January 14, 2019, 15:21:25 pm
So , where are all those on here that said the first thing KC would do in the January window is sign a keeper ?
Itís more likely we get an offer for our keeper
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Carlisle United (H)- Saturday 12th January on: January 14, 2019, 15:19:01 pm
It would be very unusual for the crowd to get on the back of a home grown player in his early career .
Jay Williams will get plenty of support .
It does slightly worry me how he would get on against a bully boy centre forward powerful in the air though .
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Carlisle United (H)- Saturday 12th January on: January 14, 2019, 10:44:58 am
Powell contributes more than Hoskins every season though. Much rather Powell on the bench than Hoskins.
Errr I really have no idea where you get that from.
Powell contributes very little to the team .
Hoskins clearly has his deficiencies but you canít argue he doesnít contribute. Every manager without exception has picked Hoskins in front of Powell for good reason.
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Carlisle United (H)- Saturday 12th January on: January 13, 2019, 19:37:43 pm
You are quite entitled to your opinion as I am to mine.

I like Morias too and I would not argue with him starting. Just fed up with the mindless (pretending to be amusing and clever) Hoskins baiting!
Well said .
Everyone played their part yesterday , including Hoskins who put their centre halves under a lot of pressure Numpties that pick him out as contributing nothing are frankly embarrassing themselves.
I too would start with Morias but give me Hoskins over that clown Powell any day of the week.
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January Window - Rumours, Ins and Outs on: January 13, 2019, 16:47:40 pm
THIS IS DEFINITELY A RUMOUR!!

Had a bit of soul searching over whether to put this up, as in no way can a verify what I heard. But on leaving the ground yesterday, I overheard a bloke saying the Ash Taylor was none to pleased at being left out of the team/squad and when asked to go to the club shop for autograph signings/photos etc had swore at a club official and left the ground in a hurry.

Again I must state there is no way I can verify any of the above and will happily delete this post if the guardians of the site feel this is defamatory.

Someone from the coaching staff confirmed to me Taylor has a groin injury

Bridge without question . What a revelation !
MacWilliams back to his best as well which is pleasing

Bridge was the star man today , no question.
MacWilliams back to his best also
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Carlisle United (H)- Saturday 12th January on: January 12, 2019, 18:46:38 pm
This was a good all round team performance and a fair result, really didnít see this one coming and feared a reverse as did all my chums.  We didnít miss the transferred super stars, Cox looked promising, Bridge hit a purple patch today and needs to be given a good run and left in the team, still not sure if Powell is worth hanging on to, he seems to blow hot and cold but then thereís Hoskins, he just isnít worth his place and contributes virtually nothing, his constant selection is keeping out someone like Marias who can actually score goals.  Hoskins sum total to the game today was his pantomime shot for the moon, pirouette and ending up in a heap on the floor, he must have rehearsed that, it was so bizarre and side splitting.  All in all an excellent afternoon and reversing the trend of recent weeks.  Looking forward to our trip to Cambridge next Saturday.
Thatís unfair on Hoskins . He caused them trouble but as usual didnít deliver the final touch
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Carlisle United (H)- Saturday 12th January on: January 12, 2019, 18:44:30 pm
Well I was well and truly wrong about that game .
I thought we would get turned over and it would turn nasty.
How wrong can you be !
Well done to the lads it was a really hard working performance . KC was very animated and he knew the team had to perform today in case the crowd turned.
Bridge was fantastic and so too was MacWilliams for 75 minutes until he faded .
Hoskins ran his socks off and I felt sorry for him in the end when he was subbed.
Also , Cornell deserves praise for excellent handling throughout . There will be no new keeper coming to this club this month .
Thoroughly enjoyed it .
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Carlisle United (H)- Saturday 12th January on: January 12, 2019, 12:09:04 pm
It feels like the bad old days going to the game today .
The only thing to look forward to is seeing the young lads perform .
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Carlisle United (H)- Saturday 12th January on: January 11, 2019, 21:30:20 pm
Absolutely no creativity available at all for tomorrowís game .
How are we going to break them down ?
I would try Hoskins behind the front two which is his best position .
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January Window - Rumours, Ins and Outs on: January 11, 2019, 21:27:24 pm
So , two of the four players that tried to leave in the summer have gone .
That leaves Taylor and Turnbull who are also now the highest paid players at the club .
No tears shed for Taylor by most people but I bet offers for either would be accepted .
The chairman needs to make a statement .
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January Window - Rumours, Ins and Outs on: January 11, 2019, 20:32:32 pm
If Bowditch was to leave Iíd barely notice.
If Powell went Iíd only notice marginally more.
Iacifano no one really knows and as he has never dangered the first team despite lower league prolific record would anyone really notice.
Ward might as well go back to Reading if he hasnít already.
Bunney is as good as gone.
Waters as well.
Facey despite looking like a good signing is now looking a liability, out of contract at the end of the season.
Buchanan is a top club man but a spent force against anyone with pace.
OíToole is a shadow of the player he was. Heís not even nailing people with any frequency.

Exactly , the hangers on and the under performers are still here .....
Clear some of the clowns out and it might settle the fans down a bit
