1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Leon Lobjoit on: May 19, 2018, 10:22:00 am
The strange thing about him is that he looked quite good against QPR away .
As did Waters who was MOM that day .
Sadly I think itís the racecourse for our Leon though !

Would people have Chris Long back?

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16232264.Trio_depart_Turf_Moor/

Whilst I think he did well to hit nine goals in an awful team, he also missed a few and there are some question marks about his attitude.

Could we afford him and could Deano make him better? And would he want to come here?
There was a reason Long wasnít involved at the end of the season .
He wonít be returning !
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: May 17, 2018, 23:45:36 pm
I keep reading posts that say players that werenít good enough in division1 will be fine next season .
I donít agree .
To be successful you need a side that is better than division 2 standard.
The likes of Bowditch , Kasim , Buchanan and Moloney will not be good enough and others such as Powell , Hoskins and foley will have to up their game .
You have to be up for it in that league and Iím not sure our players are built that way
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: May 17, 2018, 16:55:55 pm
Anyone that thinks we will sign Chris Long after his release from Burnley - think again .
No chance .
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Confirmed - Dean Austin new permanent NTFC manager on: May 17, 2018, 13:16:52 pm
I think Crooks is an excellent player and was our best performer for the second half of the season .
He was also playing through injury much of the time .
I sincerely hope he stays with us , although I would say he should score a lot more and tends to miss sitters
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Budgets on: May 16, 2018, 12:39:49 pm
Coventry have spent 30 years in the top flight during our continuing  4th division exodus but got suckered by s***e speculators. They will shake these time wasting clowns off soon and move forward.
MK are a new concept of football franchising but have in a very short time blaghed one of the most spectacular stadiums in England and won 2 promotions, one into the championship and a football league trophy, averaging gates pf over 10,000... A damned sight more than we have in 50 years of struggle.
Oxford again have played top flight football as recently as the 80s and won a major trophy, have a 12000 stsdium that will be expanded shortly as soon as they get control of their ground.
Cambridge United are a strange one, like us have shown little to no  ambition into building up their club.. and have also been left in the wilderness.. I'll give you Cambridge, like us should be doing shed loads  better.
You can not compare MK to us or take their gates seriously because they near enough pay people to attend !! MK . As everyone knows , have been seriously bank rolled by individuals and by local government .
Of all your examples , Oxford are the fairest comparison and they have suffered similar ups and downs to ourselves. Their recent downs have been far worst and their recent ups have been arguably better. We have been consistently average !

Would some of these players get other contracts at L1 sides? Aside from a couple of players our squad isn't exactly screaming L1 quality.
I would say the only players good enough for league 1 are
ROD
Taylor
McWilliams
Van Veen
Possibly Facey
Possibly Pierre
JJOT

It may be likely but still not the fact that you stated it was?
I have never stated that anyone has put in a transfer request specifically .
I have said that players want to leave and have told the club this .
Other people may have mentioned transfer requests but not me .
I donít need to justify anything to you .
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: May 16, 2018, 09:24:26 am
It's all about opinions but I've got major reservations over moloney - I just think the injuries have taken their toll and he's not half the player he was. In fact we've possibly got issues at both fullbacks as buchs' has lost a yard of pace and has started to get exposed at the far post in the air. I'm just praying that we somehow keep hold of Taylor, jjot and crooks - I think those 3 would give us the basis of a very strong team for league 2. I would also keep hold of foley who is massively underrated and was under-utilised last season - a very good squad player and versatile. Without wanting to sound like a broken record it is up front and in the wide attacking positions that we need proven, experienced quality and these don't grow on trees.
I agree .
Moloney is far too injury prone and is not the player he was .
Buchs is a back up player and is neither quick enough or good enough going forward .
Itís time for a change Iím afraid to say
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Confirmed - Dean Austin new permanent NTFC manager on: May 16, 2018, 09:21:04 am
...and I thought that that was FACT?
Has he submitted a transfer request or not, this is confusing to us not ITK isn't it?
Iím not quite sure why you think you can demand information from other posters ?
If people donít want to disclose certain information , then they donít have to !
Like others have said , Van Veen is not committed to this club. That doesnít mean to say he will leave because of the fee paid and the contract he is on which may not be matched .
The management may also not want him here unless his attitude changes .
He is not the only one who doesnít want to stay though.
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: May 16, 2018, 07:24:59 am
There are a number of players that have openly said they will not play at league 2 level .
Whether or not these players get moved depends on contract clauses and if they can get the same money elsewhere . We might also have to recover transfer fees into six figures .
Austin will not want those players around though - look at how Long and Van Veen were treated at the end of the season . Thereís a reason for that .
Unfortunately some of the committed ones are the ones you donít want to keep .
The defence worries me greatly , especially if someone comes in for Ash .

He might be back from holiday, but clearly not for long. He confirmed today that he was off on holiday with his wife and family, next week  Shocked

I would imagine he was pleased Hamilton won
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Confirmed - Dean Austin new permanent NTFC manager on: May 15, 2018, 19:29:01 pm
One thing I am a bit concerned about is the intention to keep the current full backs by the looks of it .
We conceded a lot of goals last season and something has to change even though McWilliams screening the back four will help .
I personally would not keep Moloney . Iím not sure about Buchs because he is a character.
Bunney can only play as a wing back and so he is an expensive commodity that has not featured under Austin .
Interesting times because Iím not sure Facey or Taylor will stay .
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Confirmed - Dean Austin new permanent NTFC manager on: May 14, 2018, 08:48:54 am
Now that DA has returned from holiday , tomorrowís press conference should be interesting .
I am sure he will share how he wants to build a club from top to bottom and integrate the young players more ( which is much easier now that he has JB in charge as opposed to previous seasons before last when it was run by less accomplished people ).
It will also be interesting to see who he releases from contract to be available for a move . And whether one of those individuals publicly or privately is VV .

15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: JIMMY OUT! on: May 13, 2018, 20:43:39 pm
That's the only thing missing from Hoskin's play, his finishing. If that was better he wouldn't be playing for us!
Hoskinsí movement against Plymouth and Oldham was excellent - remember he hasnít played in that position for a very long time .
He was far more effective than Long who totally fell out of favour with the management due to attitude , along with Van Veen .
Hoskins is a live wire up front and if he could finish , would be a real asset .
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC next manager on: May 12, 2018, 12:26:51 pm
I think this appointment is 100% the right one .
Dean Austin reminds me of Chris wilder in many ways . He is very strong with the players and takes absolutely no sh*t . At the same time he builds bonds with people and I loved the way he came over and met the fans at Walsall . It means so much to a club like ours that is based upon a one for all spirit .
Where he differs from Wilder is his vision of building a true club from the roots to the first team.
He will be involved with the young players and bring them through . JFH has no interest in this and neither did other managers before him.
This is a good appointment and I sincerely hope he succeeds because he is exactly the sort of character we need at this club

You said/indicated that you knew the players names but couldn't disclose the information?
Yep , but I certainly donít have to justify anything to you !
