I have to say , it wouldnít disappoint me if both Bunney and Waters stayed .
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NEWS: Pierre sold to Shrewsbury Town on: Yesterday at 14:21:57
Sure it came up in the accounts in a round about way? Remember that figure being bandied around.

But I get your point!  Grin
I think the ex chairman might be the only person that knows the true figure - along with the police investigation !
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NEWS: Pierre sold to Shrewsbury Town on: Yesterday at 14:02:07
The ones that angered me at the times, in no particular order...

1. Mark Bunn - 500k. I think we should have held out for more, kept him longer, paid him more etc. I believe Blackburn sold him on for 1 million, after he'd hardly played a game.
2. Bradley Johnson - 250k? Which was absolutely, utterly ridiculous!
3. Ivan Toney - 500k? Crazy. But I recall there being a big debate at the time, a lot of our fans didn't rate him much. Subjective one maybe.
4. Michael Jacobs - whatever it was, it was no where near enough. Proven as his career progressed.

Since KT has been here, the only one that miffed me was Ricky Holmes. I have never understood to this day why we sold him days after the season had finished rather than invite a dutch auction! There must have been something said/agreement in place/clause in his contract or something, guess we will never know.

I could go back further - Micky Bell, Steve Brown were both sold too cheap. Bobby Barnes and Tony Adcock!  Grin

Infact, when did we ever 'rob' a club? I cant recall it ever bloody happening!

£500k for Toney ?- I doubt that very much !

I think Goode would suffice, I am surprised so many don't think he is very good. He cant spray the ball about but he does carry the ball forward better than most centrebacks we have had in recent times.
I agree .
I just think he would be here now if he was coming at all .
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: Yesterday at 11:27:29
A competitive established league one club with real championship aspersions, playing in a professional looking atmospheric ground that fans are excited to visit.. this is our fate and it will happen as soon as Thomas goes.

I doubt it .
I also doubt Thomas will go anytime soon because no one wants to buy us for the money he is asking without any development rights.
Itís simply a fact of life .
Stop stressing yourself out , accept it and cheer the team on .
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: Yesterday at 10:34:47
Ffs bore off with this thread .
We ainít going anywhere special , itís unlikely someone is going to buy us , the east stand is not going to be developed anytime soon and we will never ď do a Bournemouth ď in my lifetime.
Get over it and join the other 30 clubs in our position .
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer Rumours 2019 on: Yesterday at 10:06:15
If we are playing three at the back , which I suspect we will most of the time , we are also looking for ball playing centre backs which makes the job doubly difficult .
If you canít distribute from the back under that system it doesnít work .
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: 2019/20 kit? on: Yesterday at 10:02:13
You don't work in marketing do you!
Just shows how wrong you can be ....
Marketing is exactly what I do actually !
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer Rumours 2019 on: June 25, 2019, 12:23:34 pm
How about going for that French womenís centre half that looks like she eats children ?
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NEWS: Pierre sold to Shrewsbury Town on: June 25, 2019, 12:14:47 pm
Pierre was certainly good for us but I wouldnít say he was outstanding .
Shrewsbury / Wycombe / ourselves are his level.
He definitely lacks concentration at times but is a man mountain .
Itís not the same as losing Ricky Holmes put it that way
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NEWS: Pierre sold to Shrewsbury Town on: June 25, 2019, 11:19:27 am
Not the greatest move in the world but I suppose Pierre benefits financially and so do the club if we got a fee.
Shows you not many , if any quality clubs were interested though .
We now need three more centre halves in my view .
The good thing about it is that Curle can get the balance of player right . The bad thing is that there is a lot of work to do , particularly if we are playing three at the back .
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer Rumours 2019 on: June 21, 2019, 16:16:28 pm
As I said earlier , not everything is bad news providing the right people take on replacement roles . Nothing has been announced on this yet .
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: 2019/20 kit? on: June 21, 2019, 13:27:22 pm
We are lucky enough to have a unique colour combination that is instantly recognisable and looks good. Please stick to basic clean claret and white - resist the temptation to dick around with it.
Except possibly going back to white shirt with claret shorts ?
Anything but yellow for the away kit though .
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer Rumours 2019 on: June 21, 2019, 13:24:57 pm
Oh, sorry about that - I thought from your tone you knew something about who was going to come in to oversee the youth.
Rico isnít the person replacing the head of development going to Peterborough ....
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer Rumours 2019 on: June 21, 2019, 12:19:28 pm
Is that a hint that Rico might be coming back in some role with the youth?
Not as far as I am aware
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer Rumours 2019 on: June 21, 2019, 10:22:50 am
Following on from the above, the academy head [ Trevor Gould's replacement] and the chief scout are leaving. This is a worrying trend.
The replacement could be an improvement and good news though ......
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Squad Appraisal for Next Season on: June 20, 2019, 14:55:37 pm
It will be intresting to see how many are calling to give youth a chance next season, as the majority of these line ups don't want them in the first team.
The youth will get itís chance. We have so many older players that I foresee quite a few injuries this season .
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Jack Bridge Leaves on: June 20, 2019, 14:53:42 pm
Itís true his best position was as a number 10 but if you play in that position you have to seriously influence the game and not go missing.
I remember a few occasions , particularly at Cambridge when he was the invisible man .
I was disappointed to see him released though.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Jack Bridge Leaves on: June 20, 2019, 12:23:21 pm
I think thatís harsh .
I think heís a decent player that can cause problems .
He wasnít consistent though which is probably why he was released
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Squad Appraisal for Next Season on: June 19, 2019, 16:20:26 pm
At this moment in time , I think we will line up as follows :

                             Cornell

Williams / new signing.  Pierre     Turnbull

Adams                                                                   Martin
                     Macormack      Lines

                         Warburton

                    Smith          Williams
