1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: Yesterday at 01:10:58

What on Earth is happening for crying out loud ?
Just give a straight answer kelvin
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Cheltenham Town (A) 23.03.19 on: March 20, 2019, 19:34:51 pm
I think this is more about perception based on a few factors. If you look at our likely team it contains 4 players who would count themselves as central defenders. Foley and O'Toole are probably seen as physical midfield players and I would think A.Williams is also seen as a more physical front man. That leaves Buchs who would be seen as competitor by opposition teams. Therefore only D.Powell and Hoskins from our starting 11 don't fit the mould.
Hardly an Ian Atkins side though .
Of all those mentioned , I would say only Pierre and JJOT truly use physicality in their game .
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NEWS: Matt Taylor leaves Cobblers and signs for Swindon Town- BBC Wiltshire on: March 20, 2019, 16:59:54 pm
Probably the best set piece taker I have ever seen at NTFC in over 40 years .
As for tracking back and closing down .... hmmm better leave that off the obituary
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Cheltenham Town (A) 23.03.19 on: March 20, 2019, 16:55:58 pm
Everyone seems to think we are a ď strong arm ď team and so surely itís in the oppositionís favour that we are refereed by this pillock .
I donít get the accusation at all . Compared to some of our sides of old we are powder puff !
I wouldnít exactly say the likes of Hoskins , Powell , Powell , Buchanan , Bridge , Turnbull , Williams and Morias for example are out of the John Gayle mould .
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Grappling The Grecian's 9th March (H) on: March 08, 2019, 17:26:59 pm
Hope we show up tomorrow .
The home fans deserve something to cheer about .
If we sit back we will get beaten.
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Grappling The Grecian's 9th March (H) on: March 06, 2019, 18:53:40 pm
How is it a big test to see how far we've progressed???
Do you not go further than Cambridge away? Think the Cobbs have won at Tranmere, Stevenage and Crewe as well as a draw at table topping Lincoln since the games you've oddly mentioned!
Yes , of course itís been a great turnaround away from home but are we able play with more attacking intent at home ?
This is what i mean by a test .
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Grappling The Grecian's 9th March (H) on: March 06, 2019, 09:50:47 am
This is a big test to see how far we have progressed since Colchester at home and Cambridge away .
We have tightened up , stopped playing the youth team and are playing percentage football , but will it be good enough at home against a decent side ?
I think KC will simply be looking not to concede .
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Kieth Curle Post Honeymoon period on: March 05, 2019, 08:50:57 am
Personally I am not at all keen on Curle .
I donít like his footballing style or philosophies and I think much of the time he spouts utter rubbish .
I also donít think heís tried to connect with the fans .
Having said that , we are where we are and have to put up with him.
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Players out on loan on: March 04, 2019, 11:34:47 am
Itís a pity some of these loans are not out to the level above St Ives and Banbury .
National League South or North would be better - somewhere like Brackley.
I canít help thinking it doesnít prove much playing for some of these teams, although I do appreciate there has to be a will from both sides .
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Players out on loan on: March 01, 2019, 01:06:26 am
How do you find these things out if you don't mind me asking? Not very professional of the pasta server if you ask me (if true, of course).
I really canít say in this case .
Itís a real pity we havenít got an under 23 set up which I believe dean Austin would have implemented .
There needs to be a proper progression with youngsters between under 18s and division 2.
Throwing them in just doesnít work as we found out at Cambridge .
We have a golden generation but it may go to waste because you need experience in the first team and can only blood so many young lads .
There wonít be the same success with next years crop by all accounts and so how do we get the best from these lads ?
Itís a decision from above in reality because it costs money .
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Players out on loan on: February 27, 2019, 17:10:28 pm
So why is it Keith Curle's fault? I think we've had a few managers before him that also didn't play Joe for whatever reason. The days when you could play a goalscorer who offers little else (Paul Culpin) are gone, just like the days when goalkeepers were judged on saving the ball instead of how good they are at kicking it.

Donít shoot the messenger ....
Best ask the person serving the pasta !
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Players out on loan on: February 26, 2019, 22:26:05 pm
Joe Iaciofano has joined Banbury United on loan. Could this signal the end for Joe with him being out of contract at the end of the season?
Whether Joe is good enough or not , the lad has been well and truly p***ed about by this football club .
No wonder Curle got what for when eating his pasta recently
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Crewe Alexandra (a) March 2nd on: February 26, 2019, 10:40:39 am
I thought that some Carlisle supporters came on here a while back to say that Curleís style was to be involved in high scoring matches - 5-4ís, 3-3ís etc? I just assumed that the pragmatic approach was to get us through to the end of the season with our league place intact and then there would be a reassessment in the summer?
I do get that Curle is currently getting us through to the end of the season but I donít accept everything will automatically be ok after the summer .
We have heard it so many times before and then the manager canít get players to come here or they are not as good as everyone thought they were going to be and it fails .
For me , he has had enough chance to get the building blocks in place now and hasnít convinced me that he is moving forward with any conviction . It canít all be left until next season to sort out .
All the other teams that went down are doing better than we are .
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Crewe Alexandra (a) March 2nd on: February 26, 2019, 09:26:11 am
Curle is part of the Warnock school of football - so I don't think it will be getting any better.
The problem with that is that it has to be successful otherwise the enjoyment is nil .
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Crewe Alexandra (a) March 2nd on: February 25, 2019, 17:15:02 pm
Canít wait for another instalment of ď territorial advantageĒ , ď percentage ballĒ , ď if you are going to clear it , clear it longĒ , ď ball into the right areas ď and ď nullifying the oppositionĒ.
Letís hope Crewe make the mistakes that Stevenage did for our two goals on Saturday ( no disrespect to Williams who did brilliantly and Powell for his first goal , but both were howlers by the opposition ).
This football is just about bearable away from home but itís not what I would give up a lot of things on Saturday to watch .
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Views on Keith Curle on: February 23, 2019, 23:15:25 pm
Fair enough , we won today but I hate the talk of ď putting the ball in good areas ď and ď territorial advantage ď .
What about skill , movement and innovation ?
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Smashing the Stevenage 23rd Feb A on: February 23, 2019, 23:06:36 pm
Andy Williams is without doubt the most natural finisher at the club .
He really should be starting every week in this team .
I would say we are now safe and it would be nice if Curle starts to show how he is going to build for next year from now on .
Letís see some bravery at home and get the fans behind the team
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Smashing the Stevenage 23rd Feb A on: February 23, 2019, 17:46:10 pm
Great win .
We love a last minute goal at Stevenage .
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Smashing the Stevenage 23rd Feb A on: February 22, 2019, 23:50:51 pm
I see the Chron has Morias and Williams down as starting tomorrow with no Hoskins in the eleven .
I would say the likelihood of that is virtually nil percent !
It will be one up front and the aim will be to keep a clean sheet at all costs ....
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Crawley Town (h) 16th February on: February 20, 2019, 22:48:32 pm
JJOT is in touch with the fans and likes to know what they think .
Buchs is the same .
They both know the score .
Iíd love to see Buchs manage the club .
