1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Hull City U23's (Spain) - 19th July on: Yesterday at 20:44:16
DA said Dean Bowditch is his kind of footballer and is pleased to have him fit again. Looks like Bowditch has a future here after all.
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Hull City U23's (Spain) - 19th July on: Yesterday at 19:22:30
Full time, 3-1 to the Cobblers (Hoskins, Pierre and McWilliams)
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Hull City U23's (Spain) - 19th July on: Yesterday at 19:14:58
Dean Bowditch also on as sub for his first action in pre-season. He delivered the corner that Pierre scored from.
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Hull City U23's (Spain) - 19th July on: Yesterday at 18:39:47
Whaler right back in the second half.
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Hull City U23's (Spain) - 19th July on: Yesterday at 18:38:47
Second half team:

Cornell; Whaler, J. Williams, Pierre, Buchanan; Bridge, Foley, McWilliams, Hoskins, Roberts; van Veen.

So, Facey and Bowditch the players not featuring (at the moment).
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Hull City U23's (Spain) - 19th July on: Yesterday at 17:24:13
Starting team:

Goff; Odoffin, Taylor, Barnett, Turnbull; Bridge, Whaler, O'Toole, Crooks, Powell; Williams.

Expected to be 9 changes at half time. Shay Facey is struggling with a knock but it will be interesting to see who out of the others won't take part, probably Bowditch.

9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: July 18, 2018, 19:28:48 pm
Sam walker is on trial at Bolton and it looks very possible that he'll sign permanently for them so that puts that rumour to bed unfortunately.

Another summer of goalkeeper speculation it seems.
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Hull City U23's (Spain) - 19th July on: July 18, 2018, 19:27:56 pm
The next pre-season friendly takes place during the clubs week long stay in Spain.

All the players on the trip (minus any injury doubts) will probably take part at some point.

Two weeks on Saturday the league season starts again with a home game against Lincoln. The players that feature in the upcoming games against Barnet & Man Utd U21's next week should give us some idea on who will be in the team for that first game of the season.
11  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Former Cobblers on the move. on: July 17, 2018, 14:13:52 pm
BTW has Moloney signed for anyone yet?

Don't think so, maybe the team in question changed their mind or a better option became available.
12  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Former Cobblers on the move. on: July 16, 2018, 18:41:18 pm
Giles Coke signs for Oldham Athletic. I'm sure he will get a good reception  Angry us Cobblers fans have very long memories.
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Who has and who hasnít travelled to Spain? on: July 15, 2018, 15:43:06 pm
Good enough for the first team?

Roberts came on as sub against Oldham during the last game of the season, certainly think he'll be good enough and DA rates him highly. Whaler possibly not yet but who knows, Jay Williams is still in the youth team but has done well in pre-season.

So, here who is there, gives a good indication of the squad and where we need improvements.

Gk (we need a goalie, unless Goff is ready and good enough)
Goff
Cornell

Lb (fine for L2)
Buchanan
Turnbull

Rb (Vgood for L2 if Facey stays fit)
Facey
Odoffin

Cb (very god for L2 with Turnbull also OK to play here as 4th choice f required)
Taylor
Pierre
Barnett

Midfield (very good centrally, need another wide player)
OíToole
Foley
Crooks
Powell
McWilliams
Bridge

Attack (with Morais to add this is very good, maybe carrying one too many)
Hoskins
Williams
Bowditch
Van Veen

Young players, unsure of position of if ready for 1st team, maybe loaned out?
Whaller
Roberts
J.Williams

Not there:
Kasim
Coddington
Waters
Iaciofano
Morais (no Visa)

Whaler is a wide player, Roberts is an attacking midfielder and Jay Williams is a centre half.

Might give us a good indication of who is staying and who is surplus to requirements.

I have definitely seen the following 17 in some photos:
Goff
Cornell
Taylor
OíToole
Foley
Hoskins
J.Williams
Williams
Barnett
Pierre
Buchs
Crooks
McWilliams
Turnbull
Powell
Van Veen
Bowditch

Facey?? Is he there?
Who are the other 4?

Not there:
Kasim
Coddington
Waters
Iaciofano
Morais (no Visa)

Feel free to add details.

Facey is there.

Plus Whaler, Roberts, Bridge and Odoffin.

17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Who has and who hasnít travelled to Spain? on: July 15, 2018, 13:17:31 pm
Slightly surprised about Waters but not the others.

DA said he was only ever going to take 22 players, 2 for each position. The others will be at home working hard, but clearly it doesn't bode well for there futures. Like you say, slightly surprised with Waters but not the others.
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Who has and who hasnít travelled to Spain? on: July 15, 2018, 12:47:54 pm
Confirmed that 22 travelled, Coddington, Waters, Kasim and Iaciofano havenít traveled plus Morais who doesnít have a VISA. Nothing mentioned about Van Veen or Bowditch and Iíve not seen them in any photos.

van Veen & Bowditch are both there and on the latest photos, the only ones that haven't travelled are those you've mentioned above. Jay Williams has also gone after impressing recently - he's a youth team defender.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NEWS: Cobblers sign Peterborough striker Junior Morias for undisclosed fee on: July 15, 2018, 10:34:31 am
Iím sure we all want people to share the information that they have but I think the point is more around the hints and suppositions that are posted, if you have some itk info and it is safe to post then why not do so in full detail? If it is confidential and canít be clearly posted why bother hinting at something that leaves everyone taking stabs in the dark?

Someone who claims to be itk saying things like Crooks ďmightĒ not be happy about going to Spain is not helpful imo. If you know he isnít and wants away fine, if youíre guessing based on a vague conversation then all it does is plant a seed in the mind of fans that will mean any action he takes on the pitch going forward that people donít like will be pre-judged under that cloud.

Well said, I absolutely agree with that.
