1  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Luton - 'Best team in League Two' on: Today at 17:50:37
The new Michael Appleton.

Clearly not the best team as they are 6 points behind and Accrington have a game in hand!
2  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Football Managers on: Today at 12:29:25
MK sack their manager, Keith Millen to take charge for the next three games.

Not George Smith - he signed a permanent deal at Chesterfield.

Bowditch, Waters, Lobjoit, Iaciofano and Hanley all out on loan, but Hanley is out of contract at the end of the season in any case.

Add to that list Coddington.

Don't forget we'll still have Bowditch and Waters and Smith back from their loan spells so that could be 3 more under contract that we can't get rid of. Oh and Kasim.

Cheers. So we're all supporting Rochdale tonight right?!

Or a draw, surely? Keep them both in the mix.
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Looking ahead with our squad... on: April 17, 2018, 17:03:58 pm
Hanley also out of contract. Never may be others. Some players - out of favour - enter final year, so they might chose to cut their loses.

Oh yeah I forgot about Hanley, how could I forget such a great player  Roll Eyes

WE ARE FCUKING RELEGATED

You will get some stick if a miracle happens and we stay up.
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Looking ahead with our squad... on: April 17, 2018, 16:44:00 pm
There are some players who will be out of contract plus a couple of short term/ loan players to leave. Still think we have a strong nucleus with the addition of the players coming through. Don't think we will need to add many to be successful. Of course that changes if we lose players we'd rather keep.

Only Cornell, Moloney, Phillips (?) and Luckassen are out of contract.

Plus the three loan players - Poole, Long and Grimes.

Everyone else are under contract.

Several players already planning their exit. The one who is probably most desperate to depart is KVV. His agent has been working on finding his next club for some time. Would suggest he regrets coming here in the first place. Don't think too many will be sorry to see him go though.

I think this is what you said first.
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Looking ahead with our squad... on: April 16, 2018, 21:51:43 pm
KVV the only actual name mentioned.

Hold on, didn't you say 'several players already planning their exit'. But now it's just Van Veen that's been mentioned?

Mathius are you our new man on the inside?

Sorry, I don't believe a word of it. Most players are under contract and we paid fees for lots of them. We're not going to let them go without at least recouping our money, this won't be easy if we get relegated.

13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Relegation Watch on: April 14, 2018, 21:09:20 pm
Lee Nicholls out for the season - MK Dons

Ian Henderson to serve 4 match ban (2nd sending off) - Rochdale

Miombe sent off (3 match ban?) - Oldham

Still a few twists and turns to come, but the pressure is still on us to win all our remaining games.

Blimey. No recognised striker on the field and we take the lead

What's Hoskins then? He came here as a striker, problem is he's hardly ever played there.

Can somebody somewhere get an answer from their local Borough Councillor, as surely they are the people who should know?

They are supposed to represent their local electorate!

Strange you should say that. I sent an email to NBC yesterday (a moment of frustration at the on going situation) not to a councillor but the offices. If a reply is forthcoming I will let you all know.

Latest betting.

18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC next manager on: April 11, 2018, 20:23:19 pm
Current betting according to Oddschecker are -

Uwe Rosler 8/1, Kevin Wilkin 10/1 Steve Cotterill 12/1 with Wilkin being the most popular punt currently.

You forgot Graham Alexander at 5/1. I just looked and couldn't see Wilkin on there at all, maybe I didn't look properly.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: April 11, 2018, 17:12:28 pm
Dean Austin did have a spell in management previously at Farnborough Town in season 2004/05. Yes, they did have financial problems and after he left went into administration. His record was 34 games, 5 wins, 10 draws and 19 defeats with a win ratio of 14.71%.

However, Jon Brady's record at Brackley Town was 306 games, 132 wins,76 draws and 98 defeats with a win ratio of 43.1%.

He's managed a team more recently (2009-15) and has a much better record. So, my question is why didn't Jon Brady get the chance ahead of Dean Austin?
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Peeling The Tangerines 10.4.18 on: April 11, 2018, 15:23:40 pm
totally agree, give new man a chance to work with this lot so he can decided on who stays/goes.

I can't really understand why we are waiting until the end of the season to appoint a new manager. Surely, someone needs to come in now to assess this bunch of time wasters and decide what's needed for next season. We are in a complete mess at the moment from the ground to the team. With the joy of league 2 football again, unless some sort of miracle happens.
