Hadnt thought about developing the roof... we should put a roof terrace with a pool and a bar like they have at the Gabba!

That’s progress, allows you to get p1ssed up and have a p1ss without missing a second of the action, allegedly?
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League Two 2018/19 on: June 14, 2018, 22:23:42 pm
I don't think there is any manager up and down the league's that doesn't like a cliche.

Anyhow I'll dust myself down and start again.
The thing is all you have to translate the cliche into the true meaning. I.E
“We are in this together” = “We are going down”.
“We need to defend as a team” = “Our back 4 are sh1te and not to be trusted”.
“The lads are hurting in there” = “Please don’t give us abuse next week”
“The supporters need to be patient “ = “I want those c~nts in the stands off my back”
etc etc.

So if you invested £4m to revamp the East Stand would you not expect to see some sort of benefit to the investors. I wish you were the benefactor as am sure you would be incredibly generous, fairminded etc and want no safeguard on beneficial returns.

I like the idea someone had about knocking the East Stand down and building 3 stands the other side of the athletics track. Then rent out that side to Northamptonshire CC? A real money spinner me thinks?

Instead we have a piss poor effort named after womens troubles.

Welcome to Northampton...

Comic genius.

I’ve said the wrong thing again, haven’t I?
By the way, what does QS stand for, quoting sh1t?
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 12, 2018, 02:12:52 am
capacity is capacity regardless of being seated or standing?
Keeping 900 seats as seen now but with extra terracing built behind...
The only time someone got the costings spectacularly wrong was when it was first mooted that putting 1800 plastic chairs back in would cost half a million and then reduced to 250,000 infact it was nearer 54k.

Its blatantly obvious what I propose is our only hope of ever moving forward so you're  "no can do' scaremongering has been proved just that by tiny clubs like Maidstone doing exactly what you said couldnt happen😂😂 and believe me as a QS these past 30 years, my figures are pretty much spot on.
I’ve said the wrong thing again, haven’t I?
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 11, 2018, 22:10:17 pm
Ah good. We are back to made up figures.
Er, also standing only so the seated capacity is likely to be considerably reduced? Yet another completely inappropriate and ill conceived plan that would hardly result in the goal of a professional appearing “must visit stadium”. More of a “must visit potting shed”. I’ve often wondered but am now convinced some of this lot work for NBC?

Buenos Aires club Lanus play in a claret shirt always with white and claret trim as a second strip. Seems to be generally the way.
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC FOR SALE on: June 03, 2018, 20:56:42 pm
As with any solution the German model comes with compromise and is not without problems. Still like it though.

11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 03, 2018, 15:12:14 pm
If you are able to Head up a consortium to take over NTFC and achieve that for £5m then I will doff my cap to you.

I've been involved in major restaurant refurbishments that have cost £1 million to gut and install a complete fresh new look and both didn't require new kitchens, exterior walls being built or new POS and associated IT equipment. I've been involved in projects totally refurbishing bars that have been worth £700,000. You're just not going to fit out the East Stand with a fully functional restaurant, bars, boxes and food outlets on the concourse, make it all look sexy from the outside for £5m and expect to have change for an extension to the North and South stands. NTFC won't see a huge RoI to recoup that outlay without a major backer.

The club are looking to build hotel and conference facilities to make it a 24/7 operation, a fully operational hotel costs between £4m and £6m to build, a conference centre not far off that mark.

Believe me, I want to see this football club progress, I'm still seething at the relegation, the poor attitude of the players over last season and how they appear to have got off very lightly with our fans and the **** management of the football side of things. I'm angry that we're not in the same league as the majority of our close rivals and other that will fill the South and East overflow.

But redevelopment of Sixfields Stadium is a complete and utter mess due to the actions of the previous regime and their friends, it's going to take a lot more that a couple of mill from the lack of multimillionaire Northamptonians to sort it out and give us what we all want to see.
This blokes completely raving mate. Word of advice, do what I’m going to do and don’t engage with him and pray he hasn’t made a space for you under his floor boards?
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 03, 2018, 12:30:46 pm
The £5m covers the cost of the building works, the club will still have its ticket sales, tv and other income so running as per usual.
Over a 5 year period starting with the the east, it would cost £2m to fit out to an acceptable and fully functional state, and a further £2m to do one of the end extensions straight after which gives us a capacity increase to heavily promote and sell up 10,000 tickets in a more professional stadium for the bigger games when we get back to league 1.
The other south stand can be completed as and when we start pushing for a championship place...which we will.

Before anyone asks where are we going to get the initial £2m, well my well thought out plans have just had a spanner put in the works as I proposed exclusive naming rights and large signage for a 10 year period for a bargain £2m to a large national company which would be the funds needed to kick start the redev.
Still other ways but that was a golden oppertunity lost.
Now you can see how scaremongering  ridiculous all this £20,000,000 nonsence sounds now, its as if theres a deliberate anti Northampton town  progress campaign being waged by our own fan base?
I still believe that theres some enabling possibilities to be had from the 'land and our leases??' So Id hope that the trust can work with and not take sides against the NBC, because until we fully know the intriguingly vague goings on surrounding this 'land squabble' our football clubs future interests are worth fighting for.
I cant believe its all about whos responsible for cutting grass verges as we are being made to believe 😂
As a trust member I demand they fight our corner in what has become a very ugly public menage a trois, of which we the  supporters of Northampton town are the most important 1st part of 3 and not nodding quietly  in the corner waiting for any old outcome.
Thank you very much, that’s all I needed to know.
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC FOR SALE on: June 03, 2018, 06:59:31 am
Who from the club would fund the purchase of the 51%?
Well, there’s the key question right there. As with all of the dreaming on here, the reality presents a whole different perspective. Still the best plan on here in my view mind. Just got to figure out a way of getting our hands on the cash, lottery then?
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 02, 2018, 21:12:06 pm
£20,000,000 yes ok if you insist...try £5m over 5 years.
if I am understanding this right you are suggesting someone can transform Sixfields into one of the best must visit stadiums in Britain in 5 years for £5 million quid? This is a fantastic opportunity for you here to finally put some figures, timescale and strategy to your vision.
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC FOR SALE on: June 02, 2018, 20:51:52 pm
If you follow the German model you can damn well know they have tried and tested it. 51% wouldn't be a bad model for NTFC.
plenty have been saying it on here, and I am all for it myself.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Matty Taylor on: June 01, 2018, 22:57:09 pm
Well, legs gone, past it as a pro, good riddance said me. Had a stellar season and won player of the year at Swindon apparently, so it just shows you. Sorry Matty, I take it all back, talking out of my arse again.
Jesús Christ, I thought it was just a nice little concession and credit to the bloke having done well and we’re all having a punch up over it? I’m sorry everyone lost their temper, I won’t mention him again. FFS!
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC FOR SALE on: June 01, 2018, 22:11:56 pm
If KT is just in it for the land and to make a few quid off the back of it, why pump all that dosh into the squad? I would have thought money for that inconvenience would be kept to a bare minimum? For the argument to make any sense it would be worth establishing what the land in question is actually worth? If it is true that the opportunity to kop the land for free is the motivation for the current board, then why spend a fortune on the squad, managers and the East Stand (if it happens) when you could buy the land for half the money and fulfil your development aspirations? The conspiracy theory of the free land grab only works if you can establish what the land is worth, and whether all the complexities and costs of running our football club are worth investing in to get it for free? I personally have no idea what the theoretical land in question is worth in comparison to the money spent by the board so far, but I’m guessing not? Anybody fancy having a punt at establishing the facts, or are we just going to continue to rely on more hysterical hand wringing from the conspiracy theorists for possible scenarios?
