1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Relegation Watch on: Today at 00:52:43
Looking at the fixtures I think two wins will get us over the line. I can't really see Walsall getting four points from two tough away games. If we win on Saturday it'll then be a 'winner stays up' scenario against Oldham on the last day. Rochdale deserve a lot of credit given their congested schedule, it's not easy playing catch up. They've not lost on the road since February and I wouldn't be surprised if they beat Oxford on Saturday (although I really do hope I'm wrong). I fancy Dale to stay up, so if we get our two wins I think it'll be Oldham and Walsall that go down.
There’s no way both Rochdale and Walsall will get a win and a draw in their last 2 games. I’m telling you, this is back in our hands! Wimbledon ain’t safe either. The way they are going beating Bury away on the last day of the season isn’t a given? I think they will lose at Wigan and possibly Donny, draw at Bury and we’re above them an all.

Somewhere on the 'Jimmy Floyd is sacked' thread I posted that I was optimistic with 5 games left. I think one other person said yes maybe not all doom, you never know, and everyone else said nah that's rubbish we're down for sure. Good to see more people starting to feel positive! I'm sure the players see it that way too, as that'll make them feel like anything's possible when they go out for the final two games. Always hard to beat a team who feel that momentum/fate/fortune is with them.
Well said Dean, you and the players are about to become immortal!

Forget all the scenarios and he said she said etc, it’s all irrelevant, this is now back in our own hands. From where we were we are in dreamland, come on boys!

In answer to that:    Do you feel the need for a good stroking?
Do you mean gentleman’s relaxation perchance? If so, my bucket full ran out a few years back watching repeats of that “Tipping the Velvet”

Bit like Sids did with “Gigantic Jugs of Joy”

Do you know I completely agree with you.
I thought the whole point of the forum was mainly so people could have petty squabbles about the football? If you are going to have them with friends, people on the coach etc you’ll have them on here. On another thread I’ve been having a spat with Beds. His philosophy is so in tune with one of my lot back home I reckon it actually is him? I’m having the same argument twice.

What a relief, I thought Frank had taken you up on your offer and you’d killed each other? One more day of silence and I was phoning crime stoppers.
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Walsall Satdee (great escape part two) on: April 23, 2018, 23:01:09 pm
It’s clear our players are up for this, and everyone is always banging on about momentum, well at last we now have it. I truly believe this is going down to the wire. Being over here and unable to go to these 2 games is an effing nightmare. Follow your dreams down under my arse, gutted!

I saw that. He then went over to KvV and they both had a laugh.
what do you think the joke was, “miss another 20 like that on the bounce and he’ll be up with us”?
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: April 22, 2018, 21:06:53 pm
Bringing the best out of this squad must be one of the biggest challenges anyone could have had to face at this level? The fact that DA managed this in just a couple of games is remarkable considering the form when he took over. As we know, the big requisite for any manager at this level is the ability to wheel and deal in the transfer and loan market? I have no idea if DA has the tools to do this part of the job? However, win the last 2 games and I reckon we will get to find out?

Fcking sensational, I’ve got all emotional me. What a performance.
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Pummeling The Pilgrims 21st April (H) on: April 21, 2018, 10:35:23 am
This season has taught me to expect a comfortable Plymouth win today but in the unlikely event of a Cobblers win I hope we fill the away end at Walsall next week with fans in fine voice. It could be a great day out to remember.

Come on Cobblers, do the business today and let’s all get on it next Saturday.
Win today and the game against Walsall could be one of the legendary away fixtures? Pull that off and can you imagine what it will be like against Oldham?
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: April 21, 2018, 09:20:18 am
Righty oh here goes todays lesson..
NTFC are 120 years old and will still be around for another 120, long after we're all gone and hopefully this long running thread.
So by return of investment do you mean for short term high yield speculators or investment into building up our clubs infrastructure  going into the future?
Obviously those at the helm now have made there case quite clear for no investment as investing when your not sticking around isnt viable and just want to take the land, which I sincerely hope they dont get one blade of undeserved grass.
Or do you mean investment return on steady sustainable  growth over a period of time, several years which is a very small amount of time for a 120 year old club?
Or even a wealthy group with a bit excess funds to speculate on a sporting club that has some potential?

Things are not always black and white or belong in a profits and loss column.

Its been a pleasure to educate you.
No, what I mean is how much money do you think the club will need to fulfil your aspirations and how long do you think it will take to pay it back. Nothing more, nothing less? Educate me further, please.

Blah, blah Beds, blah blah Beds...so actually nothing to add other than a personal vendetta towards Beds then!
Can’t have a laugh on here anymore?
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: April 20, 2018, 21:29:53 pm
You do know we will get the investment needed as soon as Thomas and co sell up..
Being denied any sort of investment these past 25 years can not continue and has now come to a point that it wont be tolerated by not just our support base but all
those Northamptonians regardless their affiliations to other clubs, even the NBC... who all have sympathy to our inability to grow and change for the better.
Whether it be owners who assist with a series of small trust led self financed community efforts or by new owners who have some financial clout with an interest to see our club grow, it will happen and very soon.
I fully believe there are several groups out there who would jump at the chance to get involved to different degrees  but sadly while land leases are being fought for and fully protected no one will be getting a look in and probably go elsewhere.

All this 5su sport and  sultans of ping fc ventures are doing Northampton town and its future no favours.

I fully expect a big announcement in the summer so we can all regroup with a real exciting prospect to get some buzz going throughout our  town and county.

Bullsh1t alert, how much do we need to raise over how long?
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: April 20, 2018, 21:26:50 pm
For those not wanting expansion, OR saying that it isn't justified…

Does the council play ball and give KT the control of the land he craves for?

Simple question. Yes or No?
Personally I am not saying I don’t want expansion or it isn’t justified. What I am saying is that in our current situation we can’t get the money without someone securing assets against the debt. No I wouldn’t hand over control of the land unconditionally. What am asking is irrespective of where from, how much are we looking to raise and how long before we pay it back and start getting an ROI? That is unless the proposal is we are gifted the money? Beds keeps writing post after post but he won’t answer the question which shines like a beacon warning of the bullsh1t to follow. I am personally not sure of KTs motives but I think it’s a fair assumption that he’s not in it for love? However, given that Beds wont be honest and answer the questions put to him, he can hardly accuse anyone of being straight? Basically the t1t has run his mouth off and realised as soon as he answers them his life’s work turns to sh1t? However, fear not dear friends, whilst he keeps criticising others, I’ll keep asking the questions and ensure the bullsh1t beacon keeps shining.

No I think he was saying that all you do is spout the same old sh!t each post.
Correct, and occasionally new sh1t to be fair, also repeatly telling dimwit bless him we can’t get the money.
