Bet all the arguing on here stops, well done lads sensational, and well done Curlio. Personally I never doubted them!

This is a much better thread, they are comparing each others dick size on Head Down Hoskins
Iím off over there, Iíve got really small hands so mine ends up looking quite big.

Quote from Ricky himself:

"I couldn't turn down the opportunity to play in the Championship,"

A Chmapionship team pushing towards the Prem too, they were in the playoffs when he signed. Not bad a for a 30 year old player who's never played above L1. Not sure money was the big factor.
are you going to change your name to ďjust sayingĒ at any point?

Stat fans, Sam Hoskins figures for his 2 seasons with us in league 2 and all competitions excluding FA Cup

2015-2016 Total Games 38, Goals 7, Assists 2

2018-2019 Total Games 13, Goals 1, Assists 2

Thatís what the figures I read say. Doesnít seem to be any worse than in the title winning season? When you read the old reports from this season players have missed sitters from his crosses as well, including Williams at Port Vale?

Make of that what you will?

If anyone is feeling a little chilly, just pop over to Yellows a total meltdown!  Grin Grin Grin
Just went on the Poxford forum for a gander, good job they're wearing yellow, hide all the vomit? The ungracious cnts didn't give us any credit, they don't like that dongs reject Karl Robinson do they?
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Oxford United (A) 9/10 (EFL Trophy) on: October 09, 2018, 23:12:56 pm
Is it me or are we starting to come into a bit of form and are getting some momentum? I think this was a massive game for us tonight, if weíd have got stuffed and put on a poor show it could have been back to square one. As it is, 3 unbeaten, playing with a bit of confidence, came from behind (when did that last happen stat fans?). Canít see Taylor getting back in at the minute. I know weíve had some false dawns with this lot before, but. Anyway weíll done lads and especially well done Curlio. As a side note judging by tonightís performance Ward or Cornell, itís what many have been crying out for?

I dont recall that he did.
I do recall that it was a sunny monday, I was between jobs, and had time on my hands. And stood there watching, as the entire squad set off for an Abby park circuit jog. The lower bit, around the lakes, and hills.
Followed behind, by someone he was clearly uncomfortable on a push bike. And too heavy for it. He finished a very long way behind the others!
Shame, that would have been brilliant, especially if he was wearing Lycra? Better stop now or Ronald will be having inappropriate urges again.
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Moulton on: October 09, 2018, 21:32:23 pm
I remember pre season on Abby Park. It wasnt that long ago either.
Everybody jogging, apart from Bayo, who was on a mountain bike. It was quite amusing, watching a man of his size, trying to master the art (and gears), and attempting to keep up with the others.  Grin
Did he have a silly crash hat on an all Kid?

Derek Banks was pre-Premier League and pre-Solidarity Payments.

No-one knows what other groups were interested in the club in the last crisis and why Cardoza chose to sell to Bower for a pound.

Any millionaire worth their salt will be pretty savvy. Why would they offer anything more than the pound the current owners (according to Cardoza in court) paid for it. The club has no assets and all the other costs are sunk.
It depends if the buyer is purchasing an investment or a dream? However, forget what was paid for it previously, assets (the biggest of which is that it is an operating EFL club with above average attendances) and other points of negotiation. There are only 2 factors that matter, what someone is prepared to pay for it and most crucially of all what KT is prepared to sell it for. Thatís what itís worth.

I remember the days when we used to train on the racecourse opposite the nelly. What was wrong with that, bit of doggie doo never hurt anyone?
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: WANTED: 6 Northamptonshire millionaires! on: October 09, 2018, 12:23:14 pm
One of the two names quoted to me has assets of over £100 million and lives in a village just west of Northampton!
Let's hope if something happens it is completed before the end of the year!
That would be more than enough.
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: WANTED: 6 Northamptonshire millionaires! on: October 09, 2018, 07:52:44 am
Completely right - sometimes people don't seem to understand how much it costs to run a football club or how small a sum 1-2 million is in that context - if as an individual you retire with a million in a pension pot and live for 25 years you would enjoy a reasonable but not lap of luxury life style.

I know Beds will talk about a club sustainable on gate money and non match day income but the reality at the lower league levels is just that - sustainment but not progress.
I think Beds will be what you call a sceptic?
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: WANTED: 6 Northamptonshire millionaires! on: October 09, 2018, 04:09:50 am
I hear 2 or 3 local people are interested in taking over NTFC (reasonable source, honest). I would hope that anybody with the slightest interest stand up now and join them so it gives the club a sustainable chance for the future. Surely the larger the base for the investment the greater the chance of success. Now is the time to stand up!
Maybe the Trust Chairman could be a contact point to coordinate any interest for the benefit of the club.
When you have 5 million or so you look to secure the future of your family above all else. Itís a rare breed that would place the love of a football club before the future security of their family? Any that are would probably not be the type that you would want running the club? I am afraid the best chance is people who can afford to blow 20 million or so and not see that, whilst still a disaster, as not financial ruination? Anything less would probably be treading water and not lead to the progression some demand? There are some on here that would have you believe differently, and steady sustainable growth is achievable with a collective group of individuals with a few million a piece. All I can say is that they are not one of those in a position to put a financial foot forward on that basis, because if they were they wouldnít be talking like it.

Chief scout.
What does that mean, did he listen to what the manager wanted and then present him with a number of possible candidates for assessment? Or did the manager say ďI need a centre halfĒ and Melville just went and got him one? Iím guessing both and all points inbetween. I think JEs recruitment plans went south with the introduction of the Chinese money. Carefully laid plans went out the window and they just went bonkers with the money burning a hole in their pocket? What they ended up with was a disjointed mish mash of players with big reputations and no substance. Iím assuming all led by Melville given the timeframes between the introduction of the money and the end of the transfer window, I doubt if JE would have had the breadth of knowledge regarding available options? It you recall it was left late to make the majority of the signings that summer, probably waiting to see if the cash turned up? And then when it did it was panic buy, buy, buy and from that we have never recovered. At least thatís what Iíve always assumed? That is all complete guesswork on my part, but Iíd put my house on the fact that Iím not wrong.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Back room staff changes on: October 08, 2018, 21:51:12 pm
I would be interested to know exactly how Melvilleís role worked. Without knowing his level of responsibility it is rather unfair to comment. However, for the sake of his own professional reputation this should be clarified, as on face value his performance was an absolute disgrace.
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: October 08, 2018, 12:06:17 pm
If this is right it would wreck a few of the Business plans on here. Why on earth would any stadium develop the away facilities?
They were wrecked to start with. In terms of the complaint, is it not the case that although the home club wonít receive the revenue, it will when its supporters travel away. It also means that the away club would be responsible for all ticket sales to its own supporters making it fully accountable for their behaviour? Has some benefits, particularly for the better supported clubs? Not totally convinced itís a good idea though?
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Swindon Town on: October 08, 2018, 11:56:11 am
.....fair play to supporters who travel to all or most away games but the gross pomposity of certain individuals is laughable.

I unashamedly go to very few away games due to an overseas posting & ifollow serves me very well and  I'm minded of the view from Colchester's old ground away end and ask does a travelling fan get a better perspective of the game from there or the ifollow screen?
Sadly CW I donít believe there is any substitute for being there in terms of a critical assessment, and this from someone who never goes obviously. You just donít get anything like the overall view of whatís going on from the telly. Just in my opinion though, you understand?
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Possible Takeover on: October 07, 2018, 22:36:55 pm
Yes, it would be great playing at Northampton Spencer, upgrading to Burton Latimer (Kettering will have their own stadium by then and vacated), play Tonbridge Angels in an FAC 1st qualifier and lose in a replay, a coup in attracting Yaxley Town's recently sacked manager and eventually after several years or decades...make it back to where we are stood today!
Can't wait, when do we start?
No wait, the idea has merit. We have all been arguing about the affordability of infrastructure for the new stadium. How much would a length of rope to surround the pitch cost?
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Swindon Town on: October 06, 2018, 17:00:37 pm
Draw away at a side placed 11th and went for the win. Defensively good by all accounts and without Taylor. Is Cornell starting to win his doubters around, crucial saves again? Very good start by Curlio and weíll done all round.
