1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Players Under & Out of Contract on: March 23, 2024, 18:00:19 pm
Wasn’t at the game today so can’t comment too much on his performance but what a ball by Appere to Hoskins.

I  would hand Appere a contract, he’s still young and is a runner.
Divided opinions amongst fans but in my opinion he’s well worth a deal & one I think we would regret if we let go.
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Bolton Wanderers (h) on: February 08, 2024, 16:48:26 pm
Least confident I’ve been for a game all season, 5 at the back kills us & never works.

            Burge

Willis  Monthe Guthrie brough

              Gape

Pinnock             Bowie
            Leonard
      Appere Simpson

Think Willis has played RB back, may be wrong.

Do I think that team will win, probably not but have to try something.

Portsmouth have just released more seats for us by the looks of it.

Driving down to see this one with a Pompey friend, hopefully not a depressing drive home  Tongue

Not knowing the extent of Willis & McWilliams injuries, if we lose another player to  injury virtually in any other position we simply wouldn’t have another cover to get through to the end of the season
Unless we have another David Norman up are sleeve  Grin

Really hope we get a couple of players in, fingers crossed.
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January 2024 Transfer Window on: January 18, 2024, 12:49:38 pm
Can see a lower league 2 team taking a punt on Haynes on deadline day,

Due to injuries would we risk Dyche and Lintott going on loan? Not getting much game time anyway..
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January 2024 Transfer Window on: January 11, 2024, 09:55:54 am
Dundee United heavily linked with Mellon.
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January 2024 Transfer Window on: January 08, 2024, 16:50:08 pm
Mellon who was at Morecambe & Taylor who was At Colchester have both been recalled to play at a higher level I presume.
I imagine most league 1 clubs would be interested as both been scoring goals in League 2.
Wouldn’t say no to either coming here.

Oxford fans on Twitter saying they might be in for Marriott from Fleetwood, a valuation of around 500k which seems way too much for me.

One Ox fan mentioned that on Peterboroughs chairman’s podcast he mentioned that ‘Marriott is moving to a league 1 club closer to home’

No idea if any of this is true but going from previous posts I would say we are interested in him but wouldn’t pay anywhere near that kind of money..

Great victory!!

Bowie is coming into his own up front, what a star.

I said I would take a big offer for Pinnock but he’s been an irreplaceable player in the last 3-4 games!

We’re in dreamland if we get 4 points from the next 2 games, excited for January market to open!

Merry Christmas all.

I thought it might be that Barrow lad Acquah or Sotiriou from Orient both young but have couple of years left on current deals.

Thanks for the info  Smiley

- Expect Dyche and Lintott to go on loan.

-Cancel Simpson loan.

-Don’t think we will have many takers on Haynes on a permanent so with his contract running out in the summer a team might take a chance on him with a loan until then.

-I would personally look at getting another prem youth keeper instead of Thompson.

-If we get a substantial offer for Pinnock I would take it. But if Leonard gets recalled we will have a huge task to get everyone replaced..

Can’t remember what position Leshabela played?
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: MK Dons away Bristol Street Motors Trophy 21/11/23 on: November 19, 2023, 18:21:32 pm
Need match sharpness but an injury to a big player would be disastrous.

I would go

      Thompson

Lintott Ak Willis Monthe Kioki

        Sowerby

 Hondermark Abimbola

    Simpson Appere

Appere & Sowerby taken off after 45 mins

Haynes, Mcgowan & Guthrie to get run out with couple of youth coming on
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Burton (h) on: November 11, 2023, 20:45:24 pm
Second half was really solid. Sowerby was excellent!

I thought Wycombe were a poor side but Burton were the worst team at Sixfields this season in my opinion.
The game didn’t really get out of second gear but a win is a win.

A couple of decent loan signings in Jan & we can have a easy mid table finish…I hope  Grin

14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Burton (h) on: November 09, 2023, 18:26:36 pm
Can see Bowie playing down the middle as a striker on Saturday.

Appere to come on last 30 mins.
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Barrow on: November 04, 2023, 10:16:25 am
Would be a huge boost if Appere and Sowerby are on the bench, fingers crossed.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Barrow on: November 01, 2023, 17:45:20 pm
This game now feels significant, need the win for some confidence & £££.

I have no idea if we will rotate or stick.

My guess would be

           Thompson

Lintott Willis Sherring kioki

    McWilliams leonard

Hoskins  Hondermark  Pinnock

Simpson/Dobson (at this rate Dobson would be an improvement)

This is probably far off but i haven’t a clue who will be picked,
Can we afford to put Hoskins up front and put another defender in midfield?!?

Will we hit 3000 attendance ?

17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Away at Derby on Tuesday night 31/10/23 on: October 31, 2023, 21:02:58 pm
Truly shambolic!

Never left at half time until tonight!
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Best loan signing on: October 20, 2023, 14:25:08 pm
Probably Charlie Goode, signed on loan with no expectation & ended up being our biggest selling fee..
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Reading at home on: October 03, 2023, 15:08:46 pm
Going with my step dad who’s been a Reading fan for over 40 years, he reckons they’re destined for the drop.
Early goal for us and the away end might get nasty as players were confronted after their defeat vs Blackpool.

I do think we might give these a bit of a tonking but who knows?

3-0 Guthrie, Appere, McWilliams.  Evil
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Oxford at home EFL Trophy 05/09/23 on: September 04, 2023, 17:04:27 pm
I am all for rotation under normal circumstances in this competition. However with no game for another 11 days afterwards I would still want to see a strong line up. Yes there is not a lot of cash for winning the game, but there is some. I understand the need to get some players minutes, but with such a long break afterwards I hope we see our key bodies still play. If we were playing on Saturday I would happily say full rotation, but if the budget is as constrictive as is suggested I would try to raise funds through any and every cup competition I could.

+1

Think it’s important Tyreece gets 45 mins and hopefully get a goal for confidence.
