Nerves as high as they would be if we were playing ourselves!

"It's all Plymouth" according to the Sky reporter at Dale...

"Hunting The Saddlers" after Dean's post match comments?
127  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: April 23, 2018, 09:35:22 am
I think the difference with Austin is that you get the feeling that if he does go through a period of making mistakes and bad runs he'd face it up and be honest about it rather than trying to paper over the cracks. That would automatically give him extra time in a poor season for me.

Jimmy to MK please!

It's been such a timely reminder of what this club means to us - yes we moan and moan when things are wrong but it's all born from the love we have for it. It's like your kids not listening and answering back all day but then a single "love you Daddy" at night time taking it all away.

It's still a long, long road back but Saturday proved that wherever we end up, on these big occasions where we pull something out the bag and play with pride there's no better place to be.

Great to see happy faces around Sixfields again and if we put up that fight in the final two games then we'll hopefully have a better summer than we originally would have whichever league we end up in.

Close call between McWilliams and Hoskins (and everyone else!) but I'll go McWilliams.
131  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC next manager on: April 21, 2018, 19:10:46 pm
The most refreshing thing about Austin is he seems to have a general sense that he cares about the club as a whole, cares about the players and isn't in it for himself. That can only inspire the players and hopefully these next two games sees more of the same.
132  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC next manager on: April 21, 2018, 17:51:42 pm
I don't see it as black and white that he gets the job only if he keeps us up. Play like that two more times, show that kind of fight and still go down and I'll still be tempted to give him it.
133  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Relegation Watch on: April 21, 2018, 16:57:20 pm
I like to think of it that surely Plymouth can't be as bad as that again. At this stage I'd even take Rochdale drawing that one to keep them well in the mix.

Plenty of happy punters in the box office queue for Walsall tickets for you to chat to!  Grin

Right, next up Oldham at home to Southend on Tuesday night...another mid-week nerve fest!
136  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC next manager on: April 21, 2018, 16:41:20 pm
Austin's odds sure to drop a bit after today!
137  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Pummeling The Pilgrims 21st April (H) on: April 21, 2018, 16:40:03 pm
Absolutely outstanding - to a man, there was the passion, desire and application we've been missing all season. If we are going, we're going down fighting and that's all we can ask for at this stage. Interesting to hear Austin on the radio saying that he told the players when he took over that attitude and desire were a prerequisite for doing that job and it should never have to be brought up. He's clearly got them playing for him and we can only hope it's not too late.

Two points behind Walsall and Oldham with both to play - it's tantalising! Though not forgetting their crucial game in hand. Wimbledon aren't completely uncatchable if we win our final two and they go to Wigan next.

All in all, a cracking day and one that we've all been missing at home for so, so long. First time in ages that the title of the match thread matches the outcome too  Grin

Expecting a high scoring game today...got a sneaky feeling for Town 3-2 with a penalty winner late on.
139  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Relegation Watch on: April 18, 2018, 10:47:43 am
We might as well throw caution to the wind now...it's all or nothing and I just want us to keep the chance of staying up going for a few more days at a time!

That gap to Oldham closing is crucial and if we close it to 2 points by the final day it sets up a huge game.

Speaking of which, am I right in saying that Sky will televise some of the last round of games? If the top two and playoffs are sorted and we're in the above position is there the outside chance of getting on?

This is going to be a very interesting day for Caroline Densley...can she stay professional? I've found it hugely irritating to hear (the whole team to be fair) them highlighting Plymouth's results to Caroline on the radio and hearing little cheers from her now and again. Fair enough if you're in different leagues but being in the same division it's just uncomfortable.
