22  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Hello Lewis Ward on: July 28, 2018, 07:35:30 am
Looks a beast and from his Twitter videos seems a very good signing and a big presence between the sticks.
23  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Man Utd XI (H) - Friday 27 July on: July 28, 2018, 07:34:34 am
McWilliams was very assured and fit in just as Whaler did on Tuesday night. Real promise there, as there was from Williams/Goff. Roberts looked lively off the bench as well and even Michael Harding looks to have a bit of a presence about him in his very brief cameo.

Waters is making it very difficult for Austin to not play him against Lincoln and I think it's vital that we now keep him. I know it's not his favoured position out wide but he could be an answer down the flanks. Plus he has a natural ability in front of goal.

Even KvV showed more today than he has done for months, more so in the second half, and hopefully he kicks on now.

I read that message to mean that we're due to get £1 million in transfer fees, but Van Veen's yet to be sorted out, not that we were getting £1m for VV.

Ah yes that makes a LOT more sense!
25  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: July 27, 2018, 13:22:48 pm
Close to £1 mill coming in kvv still waiting for the right bid, likely to be last minute.

£1 million for KvV would be a hilariously good piece of business  Grin

Lincoln are looking very dangerous - some cracking signings and the nous of Cowley will mean they're surely going to be up there come the end of the season again. Huge test for the opening day.

1-1

If Ben Tozer is GJ's starter in the middle of the park I think we can write off Cheltenham's chances! Can't believe that Gary Deegan is still around as well.

Shame Hilda's not around still the reacquaint himself with Lee Martin!

Good listen that, thanks James!

10th about right at this point I would say.
29  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Barnet (H) - Tuesday 24 July on: July 24, 2018, 18:08:33 pm
Slightly concerned that we can only name a five man bench at this stage of pre-season.
30  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Hull City U23's (Spain) - 19th July on: July 23, 2018, 20:03:01 pm
McWilliams looked excellent there - nice bit of desire to score his goal despite time being almost up.
31  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: July 22, 2018, 20:23:34 pm
Morias/The Hoskmeister/Willams and KVV

Tha'ts a strong front line plus Waters/Icao and Bowditch.

Massive squad let hope Austin doesn't tinker too much like Hasslewank did..

Pretty certain Waters is going and Joe will be loaned out. Still should have enough centrally up top but need more depth out wide.
32  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: July 22, 2018, 19:45:18 pm
He's just had his highest scoring season thanks to our set pieces last season.

In that case I'll fetch my coat and be on my way to my taxi!
33  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Barnet (H) - Tuesday 24 July on: July 22, 2018, 17:54:24 pm
Anyone going?

Expect to see Morias play some part here and it should give us some idea of shape and line up for the Lincoln game.

Testing out my new season ticket seat here if nothing else!
34  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: July 22, 2018, 17:51:48 pm
Agreed about set pieces - England showed this summer how crucial they can be and if Ash stays he would benefit from some better deliveries for sure.
35  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Home Kit Release 22.7.18 on: July 22, 2018, 17:49:23 pm
The shirt looks better in person than when I first saw it - after the horrors of the away shirt I'm just happy it's decent enough.

Re:Morias - he's definitely built well enough to cause plenty of problems for defenders - seems a decent bloke too.
36  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Hull City U23's (Spain) - 19th July on: July 19, 2018, 20:26:12 pm
DA said Dean Bowditch is his kind of footballer and is pleased to have him fit again. Looks like Bowditch has a future here after all.

Interesting - really thought his days were numbered but if he's putting in the effort and attitude there's no reason to not give him another go.
37  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: July 19, 2018, 20:25:13 pm
From Sky Sports:

Harry Forrester has signed a two-year deal with Iranian side Tractor Sazi, who are managed by John Toshack.

 Huh?

He'd be the cream of the crops there...
38  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Checkatrade Trophy Draw 2018/19 on: July 19, 2018, 20:24:02 pm
I think they should give League 1/2 clubs the option whether to enter or not like they give the choice to the Under 23s. Would be interesting to see how many would enter if they were given the choice.

Not sure I like the idea of stretching it out to Scotland - I can't imagine many would like the idea of Hamilton Academicals away on a Tuesday night!
39  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Hull City U23's (Spain) - 19th July on: July 19, 2018, 19:26:09 pm
Winning a good habit to get into whoever you play...good work and look forward to the two games next week which should give more of an indication of the starting lineup for Lincoln.
40  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Brackley Town (A) - 10th July on: July 10, 2018, 18:16:13 pm
Starting 11: Cornell; Odoffin, Taylor, Barnett, Buchanan; Powell, S. McWilliams, Foley, Bridge; Hoskins, Williams

To come on at some point: Goff, Facey, Jay Williams (Academy), Pierre, Turnbull, Whaler, Crooks, O’Toole, Waters, Roberts, Iaciofano and Cameron McWilliams (Academy)

No sign of KvV after he came off at St Albans.

Shame not to see A. Trialist on the team sheet - he's chosen instead to play for Bradford tonight.
