Listening on the radio on saturday it appears that the Hereford fans would like Guinan back in a coaching capacity.
I can understand this I'm sure he is a good pro, all be it a journeyman, who will have a continued career in the game in a coaching capacity..... a win win option , but after we`ve played them at the weekend obviously..... THEN SURELY WE WILL GET A STRIKER / TARGET MAN IN who can cut it at this vaulted level.

Sammo would need to be sacked before we were relegated in order to find someone capable of keeping us up......if we think of getting out of this division as being tough...try the Blue Square prem, with a plethora of ex- league sides stuck in it!

The Cup heroics are hiding the glaring inadequacies of this squad.....not to mention being compounded by tactical and selection naivety. Without that run cup what would the flavour be???
C'mon DC spend some of that cup money before losing is ingrained into our future performances....you'll also start losing attendance monies pretty soon anyway.
Hereford & Lincoln are the fairly immediate litmus paper tests, with their new management. However we'll probably then go on and thrash Port Vale....C'mon Cobblers shake this off....
But..."Too good for this division".... my *rse!

I think it's too early to talk about relegation: we were in a similar position last year, and managed to turn things round.
However, what worries me is that little or no progress has been made since last year - despite all the talk about making a good start. I'm not sure that Sammo has a long term strategy to get us out of this division. His decisions seem to be pretty much spur-of-the-moment.
The cup results have bought him some time. The question is: how much?
We are a much inferior team to last year! We have made no progress and have gone backwards with the smaller budget The Cup run just clouds the issue.....as great an experience as it has been, none the less. We need to concentrate on the league before losing and drawing becomes an ingrained habit!

I said earlier that the signing was curious........ it now appears to be rank stupidity.... the "player was offered to the club"...what is that all about... it certainly says a lot about the decision making process and management ability at the club. If I was Paul Rodgers, I really would wonder why ....... thank god he is cup-tied, although the cup heroics seem to be massively affecting and clouding the league concentration / effort...not for the first time in our history! Come on Sammo sort this out before it becomes a real problem

Curious........I would echo all the other comments about Rodgers & Herbert.....
A really good option on the right wing ...and getting better
Reminds me , sort of, of the old West Indies Cricket fast bowlers....once you you think you've seen one speed -whippet off....... on comes some fresh legs just as quick.
A big awkward/ hand- full / nasty type of a target man is really needed....please

It could have been a better draw, but at least we didn't get Brentford away which seemed on the cards.
Still the only Cobblers team I've seen at Portman Road is the Youth Team..... so another full tick.
It is win-able and we deserve to get one over on Keano after the Sunderland floodlight robbery!

Let's hope it's not a case of "After the Lord Mayor's Show...."
It is imperative that we kick start our league campaign. there are plenty of examples of a great cup run masking an eventual league disaster, Coventry City springs to mind.
The players will need to be totally focused.....because just before kick off we will know our next Cup Opponents!
