Agreed, the most disappointing for me is Pinnock, it’s like playing with 10 men with him on the pitch, not really sure what’s wrong with him TBH, He has obviously had a böllocking because he was running more, in the first half, his work rate is very poor, love to know stats on his running and number of tackles and balls won. I know it’s not his game but at professional level you have to be able to win the ball now and again.
Pinnock will come good. I recall him starting the season sluggishly last year. Wasn't there an interview with Brady where he said he'd took Pinnock to task and things looked up from there? By September, he will be fine. IMO of course.

Always great to grab a last minute winner, looks like there aren’t going to be many easy games this season!
Another defensive error by Maglorie leading to an opposition goal. By my calculations he has been at fault for at least one goal in each league game he’s played since signing!
Is a slip on a greasy surface after the forward cuts inside you a "defensive error"? I personally think that's harsh on him.

An advantage was played. The ref made a clear a signal with his arms that he had played an and advantage. By giving the goal and not a penalty he has played an advantage The ref on the pitch is a current Football League referee.
Yeah, I saw him give the "play on" signal too. Overall, I thought he did well. No glaringly obvious errors, and handled the game well I felt.

Yeah, agreed, so much better to have your own players and like you say if he comes good he’s our asset to sell.
What sort of contract terms do people think will be enough to get him in permanently? Two year deal with an option for a third, and with a significant sell on clause for Leics is going to be the minimum I reckon.

I am going to sit on the fence and say 1-1 for this one. Grimsby to score early and us to level up before having the better of the game late on.

Ordered the home shirt in ‘L’ on Wednesday as was showing in stock and it came today so all good. True fit as well. Do the online shirt orders come from the shop or from a store somewhere else?
Hmmm, ordered mine, and one for my son, online on the 23rd July and are still to receive or even get notice of delivery date. Just wondering if the personalisation on my lad's shirt is the reason for the hold up?

He was basically up there on his own, Appere had a nightmare TBH, ran himself into the ground, we need some more players at his level in midfield and up front. I like Appere but I don’t think he’s a striker doesn’t seem to have that killer instinct TBH.
I felt that Appere was running, without making runs, if that makes sense?

Player ratings:
Burge-7 Decent debut. Was unlucky not to save the penalty. Nearly cost us when he was hesitant with a cross in the second half. Good save late on secured the 3 points Magloire-6 Excellent first half with some positive runs forward. It's great to have a player with his pace at the back to get us out of trouble. However he tired a lot second half at was mainly to blame for their second. He wasn't pro active enough and allowed Nouble to carry the ball a mile Guthrie-8 Commanding performance. Won the majority of his headers, looked a threat in the opposition box. Looks to be very important considering the inexperience in the rest of the defence Sherring-6 Struggled a bit with Akinde and Nouble. He looks to be a technically good footballer with some decent long range passing. He also looks quite mobile. However, he really struggled to get to grips with their powerful strikers. I'm sure this is something Calderwood can help with Koiki-6 Didn't really seem at it particularly first half. In the last 30 minutes offered himself going forwards more. I'd still love to see him drive at the opposition defence more, or deliver a better final ball Mcwilliams-8 Great performance, particularly second half. Athletic, aggressive. Has worked a lot on his positivity in possession. His first touch opens the pitch up and gives him more than one option to pass to. He also drives forward far more than a year ago. Sowerby-6 Not a bad game. He undoubtedly does unnoticed work. He didn't control the game as well as I'd like Pinnock- 6 Didn't really get into the game. Clearly has great touch and crossing ability. I'm sure he'll get his eye in shortly and will be back to his best soon Hoskins-8 Typical Hoskins performance, industrious and a great run and finish for the first goal. Plus an assist. Not a bad return! I hate all the negativity around him and find it a bit embarrassing. Very happy to have him playing for my team. Appere-6 Bit disappointed with his performance. You can never question the effort. I was hoping he would come back from pre season having picked up the odd trick from Hylton. He lacks guile vision and finishing. I hope he comes good because I like his attitude Hylton- 8 Really good debut. Fantastic assist for the first goal and was a constant nuisance. I didn't realise he'd be this good. Fantastic first touch and uses his body really well. I just worry that most of his work is far from the penalty area. If we could find someone more dangerous to partner him, I'm sure this would free up space for him in and around the box.
Subs: Haynes-7 Really positive cameo. Direct running. He also did great to **** at the far post for the winner Lintott- 7 Difficult to judge. but looks athletic and put a nice ball down the line for Hoskins to assist the final goal.
Good shout. Sherring needs time to grow into his role I feel. Haynes impressed in the short time he was on.

Wow, this is after a win , how bad was the match day experience then ? What else apart from not being able to listen to the chit chat on the tannoy and the ticket problem went wrong then ?
Problems with dispensing Carlsberg at the North stand bar. Oh wait, that's probably a blessing?

Looks as if it will be 3 at the back to start with...I think I would like to see something like this to begin with, we seemed to click towards the end of last season, with the front 3 plus eppiah. I don't want to see Hoskins shoehorned to wing back, just to fit Hylton in. Burge Magloire Sherring Guthrie Odimayo McWilliams Sowerby Koiki Hoskins Appere Pinnock
I would be amazed personally if Hylton isn't an automatic starter for every game he is available for.

Ok, so guess I will be shot at for mentioning this, but what if the KT/DB plan for this area is pretty much what the Trust was proposing with their partner?
100% of the revenue then is in the clubs coffers, although I do realise that this gives no guarantee of infrastructure investment.

About six days then Pete?
Assume that's a typo and you meant 6 weeks? Or are you attempting to raise some heckles elsewhere? Sorry Tel, now see what is being said by Peter below. Your time frame is for the Trust board to communicate its plans to members and then there's a period of discussion before final plans submitted to the Council in early September?

He hasn’t gone and in any case Wrexham have signed Turnbull so are unlikely to payout £250k for Guthrie. The posts above are based on unproven rumours. Talk about snowflakes!
Not seeing Turnbull to Wrexham as a confirmed deal anywhere? Do you have a link for that one pls?

I agree that it’s annoying and unsettling but it’s down to JB and CC - Guthrie is our lynchpin and potentially Captain, it depends on the impact that they think it will have on the season. If worst comes to worst he plays for us this season and then Wrexham can get him on a free next season. Has anyone heard any more about the Kioki rumours?
Would a good barometer of whether the Guthrie Wrexham rumours are real be evidenced if he doesn't feature in today's friendly?
