£105,000 for third round winners......
Not to worry, the League is more important!
It does show how important the league is compared to the cup games.

I don’t agree regards the goalie time wasting when 3-0 up , that’s just professionalism, a little unfashionable club like ours can learn from the big clubs like Portsmouth and Bolton. We should at least be learning from these beatings. We’re not in the basement division now. Nothing wrong with us learning from the best.
I'm not sure any club needs to learn how to waste time.

Slight setback for Brady today, he gets caught by John Gorman. Strangely Gorman was sacked three games after the point because of a poor start. This feels anything but that at the moment. The bar is rather lower for Brady than it was for Gorman or Page. Mind you wasn't the sacking of Gorman more of a case of releasing him considering his personal issues?

On a FA Cup day this felt rather like a FA Cup tie against higher league opposition. All teams have good and bad days and this certainly looked like a good day for Pompey. There's no point in us being "up for it" with lunging tackles and the inevitable red card, we've just got to accept they were better than us on the day. If you want to take positives then we did well to keep it at 3-0 and created a couple of decent chances. I reckon plenty of other teams in this league would have conceded plenty more against the same today.

Who would be a lower league striker? Wouldn't it be great if Hylton returned to his previous aggressive, in your face, striker we saw glimpses of when he arrived and Simpson grabbed himself those goals we were promised when he arrived. I'll get my boots...

I think they've said that before every game that could be in doubt. Then tomorrow morning a pitch inspection will be scheduled for about 11am because temperatures plummeted overnight more than antcipated. Sound familiar?
They do have form with this. The more they claim it's going ahead the more I doubt it.

Using single games as a indication of form doesn't work, there's way too much luck involved. For example of that last ditch Blackpool header had gone in the conversation would have been around grinding out a result and similar for an exact same game, except for the direction of one header.
Go through any team's matches and it's littered with decent victories followed by inexplicable defeats. That why it takes a season of 40+ games to shake the best teams to the top and the worst to the drop.

Cheltenham were mad to accept that looking at other strikers in and around this level who had worse goal returns in recent years.
It does seem low but we are dealing with human beings rather than Football Manager. If the player wants to further his career and that's the only offer on the table Cheltenham are pretty much forced to accept it - or have an unhappy player on their books.

Do you really not understand the difference in value between scoring a hat-trick in a 3-6 defeat and scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory?
Really?
You are right there is a big difference. A player that manages to score a hat-trick whilst the team itself ships in 6 goals has to be someone pretty special. The player that scored in a 1-0 victory could be anybody. It's important to look after a player that rise above adversity, he is truly valuable

I'd rather see Gateshead back in the league. Unjustly voted out in 1960 and replaced by P**********h. Yes I know it's a different club.
isn't Gateshead fourth behind Croydon, Dudley and Wakefield as the biggest towns without a football league team?

I mention Shrewsbury in relation to the relegation thread, quite legitimately, all you lot move on to a Hoskins love-fest. Its like a totalitarian state on here, there is zero tolerance of anybody that has the temerity to disagree with the majority viewpoint.
Come on, playing the martyr doesn't suit you. Your dislike of Sam Hoskins is obvious to anyone who regularly reads this message board. Cloaking it with obscure statistics doesn't fool anyone.

Butterfly effect.
If the penalty had been scored, then the ball and players would have lined up for a kick off, and that scenario wouldn’t have happened.
Not necessarily agreeing with that’s been said, but that Udoh goal doesn’t happen if the pen had been successful.
That's true but my point is the folly of picking out one event in a game six weeks ago as defining our current position in the table.

Funny isn't it. When post after posts praises Hoskins, quite deservedly, nobody says "Give it a rest" do they? Yet should someone have the temerity to suggest that penalty miss could prove vital at the end of the season, and it could yet, they are told to shut up. The post ratio praising Hoskins against those that don't must be 100 to 1 on here yet still some of you can't stand that odd one can you? Pathetic.
What about the failure to mark Udoh and Burge not covering his post?

Shrewsbury in free fall, such a shame Sam missed that penalty, the table could look do much different now.
You cant stop digging at Sam Hoskins. Give it a rest
