As a Pompey fan I would like to thank you for taking Michael Smith off of our hands until seasons end.
You will find out for yourselves soon enough that all he is missing is a milk cart.
Did you come on when you let Ricky go as well?

I don't suppose anyone's seen any update on zakuani's injury/availability following the African cup of nations? Seems a bit strange that the club haven't provided any updates on firstly what the injury actually is and secondly you would have assumed that DR Congo would have been in touch with us as to the severity.
They have.

League starts (not including subs)
Diamond Zakuani P10 W4 D5 L1
Diamond Nyatanga P10 W3 D1 L6
Zakuani Nyatanga P6 W2 D0 L4
Zakuani McDonald P1 W0 D0 L1
Diamond McDonald P1 W0 D0 L1
Zakuani Diamond Nyatanga P1 W0 D0 L1
No real point to this as it doesn't really show what actually happened in games. Interesting to see it though, despite knowing what we probably already knew. Also not really fair on McDonald.

Bloody hell, Evers, me and you are in agreement!! Seriously though, the upcoming trip to Walsall will be a good indicator of if the diamond is likely to work longterm. Personally I think it makes us too narrow, and the way the Saddlers like to move the ball I suspect they could end up ripping us a new one. I hope I'm wrong. It wasn't about being narrow at MK. It was all the space in the middle of the park with only one player, ....the slowest player on a yellow card.

Eardley has been solid enough defensively, but yeah he doesn't really take on players or put in threatening deliveries. And despite my sh*tty spelling, Moloney would be the first name on the teamsheet for me.
Always thought our success under Wilder's truely kickstarted when he started to get both Moloney and Horwood fully supporting the attacks. We went from playing rigid, down-the-wing to Hackett football, to lovely attacking overlapping play. Really hinged on have two technically gifted, athletic full-backs who are also defensively dependable. We've been spoiled with an abundance of top full backs lately with Moloney, Buchanan and Horwood. I think it's rare to find players at this level who can do both well, so I'm chuffed we've managed to keep hold of him.
Haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion, but I'm not a fan of either Taylor or Hoskins so wouldn't oppose that.
Oh for the days of Ashley 'John Johnson's my mate' Corker.

Again refer to my earlier point, do you want him to cut his body off now? Its pretty hard to make a tackle and not touch the player with the rest of your body. Football can't be totally non contact. Its bad enough as it is.

Just interested to know why you feel so upset with the red card? The Premier league official Lee Probert thought is was red and that's all that matters I'm afraid .
If it was the other way round everybody would be moaning about it. Why does that change my point just because it wasn't a Northampton player making the tackle?

so u agree it was out of control .... and therefore a red card.
20 years ago its a good tackle .... in 2017 its a red
I just checked the sky app ..... Red card
What does out of control even mean? He seemed pretty in control to me, he won the ball for a start.

....studs up and went through the ball to take the man as well - no claret specs because it was a straight red but please let me know if Cov appeal and win - I'll happily apologise.
We all know they won't appeal, beacuse thats not how the system works. It wasn't an obvious mistake.

2 footed, out of control, won the ball ... 1 out of 3 ain't bad.
Its a red. ... if u dont believe me look in the paper tomorrow.
Wasn't off the ground though was it? It was a ONE footed tackle and his trail leg and body caught Buchanan. Every tackle is two footed if you look at it that way. Would you prefer it if he cut off his leg he wasn't going to tackle with, put it down on the side of the pitch and then went back into the tackle? He might be a bit late then...

Of course it's about opinions but a clearer and fully justified red card you would find hard to find - another clue is the players lack of protest at the decision
I also usually look at the player reaction and I don't understand why they didn't make more of an appeal against it (for what its worth, that is how it should be ala rugby) It was one footed, on the ground and he won the ball. Thats 3 reasons right there why it wasn't a red card. I think you should take your claret glasses off.

Kenje Gore played for ADO Den Haag before joining Swansea City in the Prem...superstar!
Yes, sorry you are right, 6 games is equal to over 300 games. Why has no one spotted he's been knicking a living 10 years?

If Nyatanga plays we will loose IMO he's that bad.
Yeah sure, a player thats played international football, spent time in the prem, and spent all his career, in divisions higher than Northampton. A lack of form and confidence does not mean he is 'that bad' Also the term IMO, is totally nonsensical, please stop using it.
