Facebook comments mate he's sign contract already is the roumour
Its funny that on the new Football Manager, the only club that wants Adam Smith at the start of the game is Derby. It really is becoming more realistic. Cheers for the 'roumour' though.

Expecting a tough test.

Taylor is still class but I'm afraid you have to look what is next to him, JJOT is the best option but is horribly slow at this level, don't start me on McCourt he's absolute gash, another one of RPs panic buys. Desperately need a younger quicker CM.
This level? Its hardly much difference. He played well against the top teams last season.

I am not sure if he has dismantled the team. Holmes,Adams and Rose wanted out. Cresswell and Taylor left for Eastleigh. Diamond,Hoskins and Smith still with us. Byrom, D'ath & McDonald seem to have limited opportunities - perhaps not deemed good enough? Personally would give them a shout on Boxing day? Thing to remember that by tail end of 2016 and two of them were no longer in CW's line up. If I remember even Rod temporarily lost his place to Brisley? So not sure how factual your last sentence is.
One thing to remember is that Sam Hoskins was just as much in and out of the team as D'Ath and Byrom, maybe even more. Byrom also played 5 games in a row during the important spell in March including wins at Stevenage and Carlisle. D'Ath also played a lot more than people suspect, with starts in wins against Oxford, York and Portsmouth as well as coming off the bench in nearly every other game. McDonald lost his place after 2 games in September when everyone including Wilder realised he had been thrown in at the deep end. Totally different player to the one that returned after. Having just looked it up, from Jan 2015 to May 15 League. Byrom____10 Starts, 2 Subs D'Ath_____7 Starts, 13 Subs, mostly 1st Sub McDonald_15 Starts, 0 Subs Hoskins___6 Starts, 12 Subs Nobody can say the 3 aren't good enough for the league above, as they haven't been given a chance. Hoskins has....and he took it after being a bit in/out at the start of this season. Who is to say the other 3 wouldn't? And has been said in other posts, team spirit is massively important/rare and has been overlooked by Page. This is his biggest failing.

I know a lot of cobblers fans couldn't give a toss about rugby but it is amazing how similar the situation is with the saints at the moment. Their fans are as desperate to get rid of mallinder as we are to get rid of page - in fact there are similarities between mallinder and page, both are bald, both are uninspiring in interviews and trot out the same annoying cliches on a weekly basis and both seem to have very little in the way of tactical insight. I wonder who will get rid of their coach/manager first?
Until Page wins the league there is no comparison

The thing is the team he's named is defensive yet again - 2 defensive midfielders and very little pace, the only threat yet again is going to have to come from Hoskins and set pieces. It does make you wonder if he learned anything from Tuesday and the criticism he has received for being negative
'People see a 4-3-3 as a negative, well it’s not when we play it because when we do that we can have four centre forwards on the pitch. When you play 4-4-2 you only get two centre forwards on the pitch'Don't know what your on about. Page plays 3 up front with 4 strikers.............

I have had an online conversation with KT this week, and thats basically his thinking. He's happy with mid-table League 1 consolidation, he reminded me of the stick Wilder got early in his tenure at NTFC and look what happened in the end!
By the way....he also told me he doesn't read this forum!!
How about you stop annoying your 'bestie' on fb and let him get on with his job.....(sacking Page)

I would go with Smith Phillips Zak Rod Buchs JJOT Byrom Ando Hoskins D'Ath Rico
I understand why Smith was dropped but he is simply the better keeper, Cornell has missed a fair few punches eg at Vale, Bradford, Stourbridge so I would put Smith back in. Nyatanga loved a long ball as most CB's do but Rodders has more composure at the back so would bring him in.
Mccourt and Taylor were AWFUL on Tuesday and I think Byrom deserves his chance. Likewise with D'ath, he has featured on the bench a lot recently and I would give him a go. He is not a world beater but provides energy and movement at least.
One of Pages biggest issues is that he seems to have completely discarded a large portion of the squad. Now is the time to use what we have at our disposal.
I totally agree, but lets face it - its not going to happen, unless we appoint a PR person who tells Page that this will relieve some of the angst against him.

Don't know about McDonald leaving, thought he was going to cover in Zakuanis African Cup of Nations absence? If we get rid of Rod we'll have to find two new CB's
With Rob Page's international experience, I fully trust him with that! ... ... Not.

D'Ath is a confidence player who we should be nurturing. He's young, hard working and already has a lot of games and good goals under his belt for us. He has a sell on value and Page has completely ruined him. Not one chance....EDIT: I'm so sorry. 30 mins against Coventry.

Great point a couple of posts above. You can't talk about him dismantling the team. In these kind of divisions the teams change almost every season! Not to mention that the key players left for various reasons. A new manager is always going to want to bring his own ideas and players (rightly or wrongly)
Go back and read his quotes at the start of the season. Thats the problem people have.

To be fair to those having a go at Page for dismantling last season's side, Adams, Rose & Holmes all wanted to go and these were 3 important players who could perform well at L1 level. I think it was right not to sign Collins but I would have tried to keep Marquis who looked to be an improving player. It may be that Byrom & McDonald can feel hard done by but that is football and every manager has his own views on players. I don't think the inclusion of either of these players on a regular basis would have made a great difference to results.
I would have signed Collins...but do you not think the 3 at least deserved a chance to impress first? They have been cast aside without even a second glance. So much for team spirit.

KT has made one football decision so far and got it wrong, and for a 'football man' thats not very good. Even though it was one decision, it was a pretty big one.
Now is it really his fault when he was sold by Page under false pretenses? He must have listened to the Vale hierarcy and fans...(did they tell him the truth?) What other reasearch did he do? Who else applied for the job? Lots probably. It was a pretty good one. 99 points.
I know he's the saviour and all but when does that stop?
He needs to have/keep having some frank meetings with Page and ask why its gone wrong. Trigger words. If he mentions 'Go Again' and 'We'll move forward' he should be sacked on the spot.
P.s I mean even his name is boring ... Rob (one syllable) Page (Thats a pretty boring last name too) Its not like he its Wilder than Wild is it.
We need a new Page added to the book and fast.

Stay for me, 13th in L1 is very good for NTFC
As has been said in multiple posts, YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT. Everybody would be happy with this in different circumstances. The lies, man management, 15-16 mean PAGE HAS TO GO (This is coming from a guy who didn't even want Boothroyd or Johnson to go at the times they did, which in hindsight was absolutely ridiculous on my behalf)
