Incorrect.
Brady was manager when we won at Coventry in the EFL Cup in August 2021.
He has also overseen a penalty shootout win at Forest Green in the EFL Trophy (also August 2021). Since then penalty defeat at home to Walsall in the Trophy, defeat by Brighton in the same competition, with a defeat in an FA Cup replay at Cambridge after a home draw, then five Cup defeats last season (Wycombe in the EFL Cup, Ipswich, Cambridge and Arsenal U21's in the trophy and Chesterfield in the FA Cup) followed ny this season a defeat at Swansea in the EFL Trophy.
Cup competitions for Mr Brady... played 12, won 1, drawn 3, lost 8
Just as well we didn't have a cup run last season, we'd have had to ask our opponents to play 5-a-side.

It was reported last week that our emergency loan option would cease if Thompson played against Cheltenham. JB said he was comfortable with that.
Playing in that game made Thompson our second "professional goalkeeper" along side Burge. Dadge is not considered a "professional". So if both our "professional goalkeepers" were injured at the same time we could sign an emergency loan keeper.

The reason there is so little criticism of John Brady is because fans are looking at the bigger picture, not just results. Sorry to sound like Everbrite but fans who have seen the games, have seen us play really well in at least part of every match. We have hit the woodwork numerous times and deserve more points than we have. Obviously if we are still short of points later in the season people will become twitchy. Our style of play is evolving just as JB said it would, noticeably so this season. The players are still learning this new patient passing style and we have to be patient too. Hopefully as we improve we will learn to move the ball quicker and mix up our play. Ok we all know we are short of a striker, but that's where we are and must play in a different way, we are not going to score many headers from crosses. Against Wycombe, Hoskins and Bowie both made several forward runs for passes that didn't come, this all part of their learning process. Overall we are looking good so we need to keep the faith.UTC.

I've just been looking through the time Herbert Chapman was appointed manager of the club and what he achieved was quite remarkable. We had just finished bottom of the Southern League two seasons on the trot when he arrived and his debut season saw us climb to the giddy heights of 8th. The next four seasons we finished as Champions, 4th, 2nd & 3rd before he left to manage first Leeds, then Huddersfield and finally Arsenal. I know a lot of you don't consider our days in the Southern league as being worthy of mention or comparable to our position today in the football league but you have to remember that in the same division as ourselves then were the likes of West Ham, Southampton, Luton, Brighton, Portsmouth, Millwall, QPR, Watford, Crystal Palace, Tottenham, Norwich, Stoke, etc, it could hardly be classed as non-league and as I've said before on here, the year we won the Southern League we played the Champions of the Northern League Newcastle United in the Charity Shield at Stamford Bridge. This is our history and we should embrace it. Add all this to our rise up the divisions in the sixties to play in the top flight and you realise that we are a very special club indeed and we should be proud of our history, not ignore it. As for Chapman, he was an exceptional man, he is credited with being the first manager to use tactics in a game. There's a very interesting piece on him on Wikipedia, well worth a few moments of your time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert_ChapmanInteresting stuff, Marvo We may all know of him but it's worth reading the details of his achievements.

The difference I notice in Sam is that is a lot more composed, he doesn't snatch at chances now. Long may it continue !!
I mentioned this on the match thread, along with wish that the same quality can be coached into the likes of Appere and Bowie.

All the talk about officials being strict on time wasting, the Referee wasted more time than anyone at Cheltenham. Time and again he insisted players use the ball that had gone out of play, rather than one on the nearest cone. If the match officials don't know what the actual rule is, how are the players and fans meant to know?
Of course when we took a quick corner he penalised us and gave a free kick to Cheltenham!
Also when was the last time a team was allowed to take a quick free kick? It just doesn't happen as Referees think they have to use their magic spray in all parts of the pitch, not just near the penalty area, even when there is no defensive wall.

I see no long term benefit in selling a player to bring in a Loan player who will have zero sell on value. Fair enough if you are moving on an asset to purchase another player who may be valuable to the club in the future but we will soon have four or five decent loan players who will not benefit the club in the future one jot. If we sell we need to buy imo
I agree with your thinking but, we have no idea what amounts of money are involved. The players that JB may like to move on would bring in negligible fees but would free up some wages. That's unlikely to enable us to buy any players, but may allow us to pay a larger percentage of a loanee's wage, so a better class of player.

Another good team performance where every player contributed and the subs came on and made a difference. Leonard again stood out especially in the first half, behind him Guthrie and Sherring were pretty much faultless. We started really well and when Cheltenham had their best spell JB made changes and we were back in control. And then, the cherry on the top, up steps Super Sam! His finishing is so much better now because you can see that he composes himself before striking the ball. If the coaches can bring that quality into our other strikers we could go far.

Yeah, embarrassing. When I heard the "going home in a wheelchair" part there only seemed to be the St John's Ambulance guys walking across the front of the stand with am empty chair, so if I was being charitable it could be that they didn't realise someone was in trouble.
I genuinely didn't hear the "let him die" part but if they were singing that (and I'm not disputing they were) then presumably they could see someone was ill, and that's utterly inexcusable.
I hope the poor guy is OK.
Sick and embarrassing chants, it was clear that medics were going into the stand to help someone. The lads (boys) make plenty of noise, but I wish they would just concentrate on being positive towards their own team.

The more I think of it the more I wonder if JB monitors my posts.
Sounds like he’s made a few phone calls off the back of this.
I'm sure he does, the more I think of it I'm convinced you are the sole reason we gained promotion last season. Thank you

Had to give it to all the young pricks in the Upper West, singing 'Lincoln's a s***hole, I'd hate to live there'. Idiots beyond belief, clearly never set foot near the place! They did shut up pronto and never sang it again!
Rest of the time, all of us getting the atmosphere going - as did at Wigan!
It's just habit, they sing that to every team that visits Sixfields! They've also never visited Northampton town centre! At least they make some noise, unlike the North Stand, is it still the covid cardboard cutouts in there?

Very good performance and a brilliant ending, don'tcha just love a late goal? Probably deserved more but from 2 nil down I'd always take a point. Lovely to see us display a new patient passing game, we may lack a bit of a cutting edge but if we persevere with this style that can come. We are still learning about this division, it seems that every mistake we have made has been punished, so we're learning the hard way. The spirit of this team is plain to see and I also thought we looked much fitter in this match. Our young goalkeeper had little to do, the defence were mostly ok but switched off a couple of times. Brough played well in defence and put some good balls into the Lincoln box. Odimayo is a good athlete but lacks confidence going forward, McGowan's crossing is better. Leonard again looked class and so mature, good to see him getting further forward. Of course Sowerby worked hard, as did Pinnock (honest!). In attack Simpson show glimpses of his pace and strength, hope he scores soon so that his confidence doesn't sag. Bowie often looks out on his feet, then suddenly bursts into life and hands up who knew Louis Appere could smash in a goal like that? Hoskins? Well Sammy is Super! Isn't he?

You can say what you like about the goal and your celebrations, I'd have preferred an own goal by a Wigan player that gave us the three points in a drab, boring, backs to the wall defensive effort. Hey, but that's me.
So if you'd been there you wouldn't have celebrated taking the lead? Would you have just sat on your hands until the final whistle?
