Agreed about the ‘established club’ thing, even more in this case because 12 miles up the road were Bury...a club who the Nevilles were heavily involved with.
Still, wheres the news story in keeping an established club afloat when you can buy into a small club and take them into the football league....

They lived in Salford as Young players and trained at the Cliff which is in Salford. I know there is little goodwill towards Salford but I wanted to add a Salford 'Fan' perspective and good it is to play against Northampton Town etc.

Theres Prestwich Heys locally, Radcliffe borough, Bury, Rochdale, Stockport, Ashton etc Bury was not feasible because of the idiot owner.
Bury will rise again and the locals will support them.
Their shared connection is with Salford and it was a realistic project.

Good luck for the rest of the season. Signing off.

Hi Cobblers fans and thank you for adding to the match day experience yesterday. Fantastic support and numbers.

Not to many years ago Salford would attract 30 to 70 fans to our home games. There was a concrete small seating area and the rest was grass and a small perimeter fence.
The staff at the time were unpaid and local and the outer fencing was falling down and dangerous. Salford Amateurs was formed decades ago. I wont bore you with the details.

Lots of Man United and City fans live locally and can't afford to go to watch the premier league circus and so when Nevilles and co came in and started their project it was a welcome and safe place to go. They put the original staff on the payroll and employed local people and local suppliers.
They have started a girls team and an academy to provide somewhere for the local players that don't quite make the grade to carry on developing. They also set up charitable schemes for the homeless.

The owners were not expecting this level of success and the fan base, however small, is solid at around 1500 and 150 away supporters. A lot of Salford fans are happy for it to stay that way, as long a the team puts in the right effort.

I for one travelled watching Man United for years and was an old 60 pence a game Stretford Ender.
I find that it's a privileged to go to Moore Lane for £10 and watch good honest footy. I really enjoy seeing teams like Northampton and other teams from the lower leagues with such loyal support. The facilities will improve and I can only sympathise with you when it comes to having a pee, pie and pint and having
a poor experience.

I can honestly say that a lot of the fans and especially the staff, can't quite believe what is happening at our local non league club.

Regarding funding etc. Whatever happens. The Stadium is paid for, the facilities keep us dry(ish) and the football is honest and real. Our billionaire backer does amazing things with his money in his native Singapore and see's the vision that The Nevilles have of helping out Salford.

In June 2010 the Singapore Olympic Foundation (SOF) set up the SOF-Peter Lim Scholarship with a S$10 million donation from Lim. The gift is the single largest donation in Singapore from an individual towards sports development. The recipients are typically students who come from financially-challenged backgrounds and have demonstrated a potential to excel in their respective sports.[9] In 2019, Lim further pledged to continue supporting young local athletes for another 10 years from 2021 – 2030 by donating another S$10 million to the SOF-Peter Lim Scholarship.Since the inception of the scholarship, 2642 student-athletes have received scholarships amounting to $7.2 million.

Once again, well played, great fans and I never thought I'd ever see Northampton Town play. I love this League !!

One of chants.... This is how it feels to be Salford, This is how it feels to be small, we're a tin pot team and we've got no history at all.
