Big Vadaine Oliver has linked up again with Evans at Stevenage...absolutely perfect signing for them...can see them getting in the play offs tbh
102  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Play-off watch on: January 17, 2024, 11:41:20 am
Anyone who thinks we still can't be dragged into a relegation battle is absolutely deluded!

We are massively punching at the moment & Brady is working wonders...let's get to 52 points then see what happens eh?

No doubt if we start dropping down the league, some will moan & "think we should be pushing for the play offs!"  Roll Eyes

We would all love a season or two in the Championship etc, but most of us are realistic & without serious funding, realise we are even now above where we should be...
103  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January 2024 Transfer Window on: January 17, 2024, 07:24:01 am
So, that's our "only 5 loan players allowed in a match day squad quota", all used up.

Still feel we're a striker, cover for Sowerby & a number 10 short, but don't think we'll be signing anyone on a perm this month so i think that's us done. Happy to be proved wrong of course.

Shame Hylton is injured again as I was hoping someone desperate like Sutton might have come in for him. Haynes might still be off I guess.
104  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Play-off watch on: January 16, 2024, 22:55:29 pm
Barnsley losing at home.

Thankfully, they turned up second half & won...I'm still looking down rather than up!

Absolutely no chance us making the play offs...let's just get to 52 points then we can all relax & have some fun  Angry

Just had an email from the trust... Not even addressed the letter! #bants

Northampton Town FC has announced the appointment of a local firm, GRS, to oversee the East Stand completion at the stadium. As yet there has been no announcement of the stand and land deal being signed off with West Northamptonshire Council. You do know that they are not a full time organisation don't you? they don't meet up every couple of days

Of course I do!  Roll Eyes

They were quick enough getting onto the mods on here to take down the actual letter though eh...

The letter needed/needs urgent clarification...it's now out there...they can't just expect people to forget it was ever leaked...

Still, I guess being a lifetime trust member means fvck all these days, unless you want raffle tickets!
109  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: January 16, 2024, 08:28:13 am
Thought the trust would have emailed their members by now, or even put out any sort of response, since "letterleakgate"...

No official response/statement speaks volumes!
110  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January 2024 Transfer Window on: January 15, 2024, 14:43:24 pm
On Saturday when asked about transfers JB said nothing was imminent.

Just keeping his cards close to his chest...nowt wrong with that.

Sorry to bring up Carmarthen Town again, but this lad is a winger??!!

This has already been denied here and by the player himself...

It's the winger from Norwich as first mentioned by Clarity...

Nice to know we've now go two decent sources on here!  Grin
114  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: January 14, 2024, 09:08:34 am
It was signed "The NTFC board", wasn't it?  Since that includes David Bower, given how he made his  millions you'd think they would feel pretty confident what they were saying couldn't trigger any sort of litigation.

Exactly!
115  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: January 14, 2024, 08:58:27 am
Are the trust planning on taking legal action against the club if defamatory comments were made in the letter?

Does the Tryst still do car boot sales at Sixfields?

The letter was dated July 2023 so I think it's fair to assume no legal action has/will be taken against the club as it would have happened long before now...plus the trust would have revelled in letting their members know this, rather than sending them the actual letter, which the club clearly stated at the time they are free to share it with their members...

The club would not have said this if they weren't 100% confident there were no untruths...

The trust with the current board are finished!

If anyone wants a copy of the letter, sure someone on here can message it to them (I unfortunately didn't bookmark or screenshot it - I just re-read it about 10 times in astonishment), as the trust obviously never had any intentions of emailing it to their members!

Members of the Hotel end.

You will notice that the post made by Observer containing a letter sent to the chair of the Trust, Andy Roberts, has been removed. We have done so because we received an email from Andy, suggesting that it is defamatory, and leaves us open to legal action if it is not removed immediately.

I have responded to Andy, stating that we have very little choice but to remove the post, as we do not have the same resources at our disposal as certain parties do. In the spirit of free speech, we offered Andy the right to reply to the letter. We are not aware wether or not he will choose to.

Personally, I believe the Trust membership should have been made aware of the clubs comments. And that they should have been afforded the right to reply.

We're sorry that it has come to this. Please do not allow this to discourage you from exercising your right to post your opinions.

I think most of us have now actually seen it anyway & shows the current trust board in their true colours!

I personally don't see why you've taken it down as this is a forum for ALL supporters of NTFC & the club themselves gave permission for the trust to release it to their members back in July last year!

Surely, if any legal action was to take place off the back of that letter, it would have already happened!

One thing for certain is the trust, as we knew it back in the day under the late Brian Lomax, was a very different organisation than it sadly is today.

McGowan, absolutely single handedly saved us from a hammering that first half, great to have him back playing his best football again

Thanks

PM your full name and membership number and I will let you know

Clear as day fella...

We give you full permission to publish this letter to your members. Yours sincerely,
NTFC Board of Directors

So, why didn't you share this with all trust members?

Also, asking someone to give you their full name & trust membership details, to clarify the alleged misinformation within that 7 page letter is not acceptable.

As part of the trust board it is your duty to send this information to ALL your trust members

I'll therefore await the email, along with all other trust members, whom you are supposed to represent!
