1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Rumours Thread on: Today at 09:59:08
I have almost certainly seen him play few more times than you and most of the infantile criticism is false, blinkered and grossly prejudiced  and above all misleading. From that Tranmere game to now he has improved as a player. It’s not your eye sight which is a problem but your mental capacity to offer a fair and unbiased opinion on young player.

One thing even you must admit is it’s strange how a group of supports that don’t know either other have generally reached the same conclusions with the exception of the minority.

It’s a funny old world, let’s hope your player assessment comes to fruition, let’s face it you’re well overdue one!

Since he’s been made an offer, the professional evaluation dictates its now official that you are talking out of your arse.

I’ll keep this post up my sleeve for a few years time Ash.

I can only assume his dad’s status has helped propel his career. Do you remember Alistair Slowe and Kashif Siddiqi out of interest?

Along with Dyche.

He’d struggle

Got to be Pinnock?
Hopefully Dyche.

Can’t imagine many will be sniffing around Dyche!

A fully fit Morton would be an asset.

for Wellingborough town fc...

Nathan Lowe seems to have fallen down the pecking order at Stoke. Was unbelievable at the start of the year in L2!

Would be lovely if he could do the same in a cobblers top next season!

When are going to get a resolution? These “conversations” are taking a long time.

Based on what KN said on Tuesday night, he expects the 'conversations' to run on for a while yet.

KN has told Fosu these are the expectations, do you want to be a part of it.

No doubt Fosu is concerned that he will actually have to apply himself and get out of second gear now and again.

Just to caveat before the normal suspects start, the above points are my recollection of an hour long interview, some words may differ slightly.

For those that missed it last night, you can listen back here...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002bdtz

Nice to hear a new keeper will be coming in to compete with Burge for the number 1 jersey, with Dadge providing competition behind those two...

Thanks, a really good listen. KN seems a top bloke, I like him.

Some key points;

The Fosu discussions will likely take a while.

KN hopes to have some new bodies in the door by the first week of pre season but says some deals will be a waiting game.

Players are due back 23rd June.

Appreciates that some players offered deals may want to move back closer to family.

Has only spoken to a couple of the players that have been offered deals (I found this strange) but will look to speak to all of them before 23rd June. They’ve been given deadlines but he couldn’t remember.

No contract offer for AK was a difficult decision but KN had concerns as he couldn’t finish a game.

Keen to bring back Dara, Taylor and Perry. Will have conversations but it’s out of his hands.

Unlikely that champ loans will sign untill a couple of weeks into pre season with prem players 4 weeks in

Was at Forest U21s on Tuesday night watching Perry and trying to spot some further talent.

Not thinking of moving on any players under contract untill pre season has began and he’s had a good look at the squad.

had*

The correct phrasing is simply "had." "Had of" is a non-standard and ungrammatical construction. "Had" is the past tense of "have" and also the past perfect tense form, used with other verbs in the past perfect tense. For example, "I had eaten" is grammatically correct, while "I had of eaten" is not.

I think you’re on the wrong forum fella.

Regarding Brough, I was surprised to see he's been invited back to training. If this was just a courtesy, why would it not have been offered to other players?

I guess the question is where do we draw the line?

If we had of invited every player along that's recently returned from injury we'd be tight on space!
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tarique Fosu on: May 07, 2025, 12:55:14 pm
Fossu came to us very late in the window so didn't have the benefit of a pre season so injuries are so easy to pick up then hard to shake off. I think he could play the Tyler Roberts role and score more as well

More than 1 in 31?

or 1 in 52 if we count his time before joining the club?

Genuine question, if we stuck Clarence in the box for 52 games how many do you think he would score?
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: RETAINED LIST on: May 07, 2025, 12:48:46 pm
if we want to progress AK isnt good enough - i always think he flatters to deceive. has all the attributes, but doesnt stand out and dominate enough for me

Agreed, has the attributes but doesn't excel in any of them. He's just average all round - further evidenced by NGW excelling.

15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tarique Fosu on: May 07, 2025, 10:08:38 am
Has he resolved his hamstring issues?

I recall he spent most of the season in second gear reluctant to sprint.

I think you missed it was a direct I was replying to the resident doom monger. Obsessed? Don’t flatter yourself. I’m obsessed with my new puppy.

Not a clue what you’re going on about fella.

Enjoy the puppy.

The Oracle MC.

He’ll be in or around the first team next season and probably our best chance of a multi million pound sale if he has a top season or two. Stranger things have happened.

Strange you seem to be focusing your attention on me. I assume you read the other posts on here also, it shows I’m not the only one doubting his L1 ability, in fact it seems most are!

In the last page and a half we’ve have the following comments:

Threeinabed - Dyche is too slow

Lordjord - Whilst im not his biggest fan I imagine Dyche could be seen as a 4th choice option.

Davcobbler - I kind of get it if you were Liverpool but seriously, how long a project can one player be?! He is 22 and if he isn't good enough now, then you have to question the player or our coaching ability.

Drilling Cobbler - Dyche Id have thought will be fairly cheap relative to league1 wages; he does need to improve somewhat to be an asset in a back4 but has looked half decent most of the time in a back3.

Cobbler 151 - Max and Josh likely loaned out.

Monkey - Dyche, a decent and cheap enough backup. I've always though Tomlinson has looked a better prospect though so will be interesting to see how he does if/when given the opportunity.

You assume a lot of things  Roll Eyes Doesn't mean you're right though.

Thanks for your input on the thread, its been invaluable.

I eagerly anticipate your next insightful contribution.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: RETAINED LIST on: May 06, 2025, 14:38:21 pm
My first thought also. Dont know how likely it is but Baldwin and Willis need to be moved on and Tomlinson loaned out. Whilst im not his biggest fan I imagine Dyche could be seen as a 4th choice option if those ahead of him were Guthrie + 2 new CB's.

One thing we desperately need moving forward is pace. Who is the quickest player we have under contract? NGW? Screaming for some pace with the new additions.

Lets not forget McGowan filled in at CB for much of the season and looked our best option there, selected ahead of Baldwin, Willis, Dyche, Eyoma etc. on most occasions.
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: RETAINED LIST on: May 06, 2025, 14:29:26 pm
needs to move some under contract on..............if the new deals are all signed we will already have 5 centre halves on our books. 1 injured, 2 injury prone, 1 too slow and JT

Well said that man.
