Brough needs to remember that he's a defender first and foremost. He's playing way too high and has let his man in behind at least a dozen times already today.

Hylton injured again! It's just laughable now. Just bite the bullet and tell him not to bother turning up anymore. Let him run his contract down away from the team, as that's all he's going to do anyway. A shame really as the first game he played for us against Colchester I think it was, I genuinely thought that he looked a class above the rest. However since then he's unfortunately looked completely disinterested in playing football anymore.

At what point do we need to just give the likes of Wyatt an opportunity. Regularly does it at academy level, has looked good when he's had first team minutes, and can't be any worse than we have available at the moment.

Interesting substitutions. Pinnock was doing a fair bit of closing down for a change. He and Hoskins were regularly higher up the pitch pressing that Simpson in the first half. Thought that Koiki was the best of our back 5 tonight too. Would have been better off pulling Simpson off and sending him packing at half time, sticking Hondermarck on in his place and pushing Hoskins up top in my uneducated opinion

I don't want to see Simpson play for Northampton ever again. The laziest player to pull on a Cobblers shirt. His off the ball work rate is non-existant; no chance we'd be 3-0 down with Appere in the side instead.
Couldn't agree more. And it looks like his attitude is rubbing off on the rest of the team. Whereas when Appere is on chasing every ball, it gets everyone else doing the same

Brady needs to take the opportunity to prove a point to the players who are showing zero desire and pull them off before half time. Make all 5 subs now and be done with it. Simpson needs to have an extended period on the bench. Get Wyatt back from the loan move and give him a game.

Maybe we need a good hiding to give the players heads a wobble. Leonard leaving his player there. Another players that's a shell of last season and not doing himself any favours in trying to build a football career outside of the lower leagues.

Feels like almost every game this season so far in the league we have been by far the better 'footballing' team. But absolutely no threat up top.
Although maybe that's why we've looked so good in the middle. Other teams know they can let us have possession as it's unlikely we will make it count?

It's a really polarising start to the season. We've looked really dominating going forward in pretty much every game so far. Arguably by far the better team in each game. But for some iffy defending.
Looking forward to having a full strength team back to see what this squad can do. Just hope they can get back early enough into the season and stay fit.

In fairness, poor ball from Hoskins, made Appere stretch.
It looked more like Appere wasnt concentrating when Hoskins passed him the ball to be honest. I'm a big fan of Appere but I think he should have done a lot, lot better there.

Disappointing goal to concede, be glad when Burge is back, however the Cobblers are playing some lovely stuff.
Agreed. I'll be more confident once Burge is back. Not sure why we don't just invest in playing Dadge instead of Thompson. May as well give playing time to our of our own rather than a loanee of similar quality. We've looked really fluid going forward this season so far.

Terrible positioning and defending all round.
Brough misses a very good chance.
Yeah disappointing finish, but I guess to be expected from a left back. If only he'd have controlled it and squared it. Good to see there's chances to be had to get back into this though.
