We'll have a muster parade, when the season starts, for those who appear to have gone MIA over the close season. Wink

It will be good to catch up again Richard. Hope your dad is okay and you are both going to Bristol.

As an aside,
Where’s everbrite?

It’s unlike him not to be commenting on our signings….

Hope he’s ok.

Talking of absent old friends whatever has happened to Coolcat? There's been nothing on here since someone (I think it was Melly) gave him a good old telling off. Come back Rob we miss you.

Was away last week and whilst not devoid of internet access, no direct Cobblers chit chat. That was until I was in the queue at Corfu Airport and man in front of me had a Cobblers training top on! Got chatting much to the amusement of his wife and mine on all things Cobblers including views on the trust and new signings.

Cobblers here, Cobblers there…….

Still think we need another striker at least plus a few more.
That's amazing Zen I was in Crfu Airport yesterday as well. Wasn't me you were talking to though because I wasn't wearing a Cobblers top and I never speak to anyone unless I absolutely have to. Hope you had a nice time on hols.
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Supporters Advisory Board: Proposed Agenda Items (Date of next meeting TBC) on: June 29, 2024, 12:34:55 pm
They are all nice guys if you ineract with them on a one to one basis but the agenda they share is not that nice in my opinion.

I'm a little suprised that there has been nothing posted on here about the FAB meeting that was held last Thursday. I didn't go myself as I wasn't invited and was not aware that it was taking place but I would like to hear some feedback from any contributors to this forum who may have attended. I have read Tom Cliffe's report on the official website but it would be nice to hear what others think.
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Play-off watch on: May 19, 2024, 11:36:42 am
I may be on my own with this, but I look forward to playing Oxford and possibly MK. Those games have a bit of an edge to them. I am sure that I can find somebody else to dislike next season though.

Your not on your own Tabasco. I am totally with you on this one.
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ups & downs on: April 25, 2024, 11:12:19 am
Out of those in the L2 play off spots I would have them up in this order of preference.

MK
Crewe
Doncaster
Barrow

In terms of the Championship drop.

I'd prefer Plymouth or Sheff Wed over Birmingham. Plymouth would be my favourite to come down.

In terms of the L2 play off I am totally in sync with Nigel with regard to preferences. However when it comes to the drop from the championship I would like to see Birmingham and Shefffield Wednesday accompany Rotherham in our league next season.

Happy with what I have seen on the CGI's and certainly relieved that a date for completion has been set. Not sure what the response will be from those that insisted it would never happen but some may be inclined to fall on their swords. Particuarly happy with the look of the new concourse but unsure whether these facilities will only be available for East Stand users on match days or whether they will be able to be used by those seated in other areas. I too am interested in what this development will mean for existing West stand facilities such as Carr's bar as I feel they could be greatly improved. For me this news is the icing on the cake at the end of what has been a great season. I may even compliment KT on his good work at tonight's forum.

I agree with Evers and it's not often I can say that. Guthrie was my man as well.
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Hotel End Grand National Sweepstake 2024 on: April 10, 2024, 10:04:40 am
Yes please Richard. If there are any left of course.
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Jon Brady on: April 07, 2024, 11:33:38 am
I remember when Dave Bowen managed Wales and the Cobblers at the same time. Don't think that would work these days but Brady for Australia manger is not a bad shout.
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Sat 6th April v Carlisle on: April 07, 2024, 11:29:15 am
I hope nobody left early.

Loads of people around me left early. They always do. They will be kicking themselves for missing the undoubted goal of the season.

Koiki. Not only for his wonder goal but also for his play throughout the second half. Wouldn't it be great to get a full season from him.

I am going for Appere as well. You can't fault his committment and energy but I just wish he was a bit better in the air.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Record Breakers? on: March 25, 2024, 12:49:29 pm
In all competitions the teams we haven't beaten are Chelsea, Everton, Leicester, Man Utd and Sheffield Utd. I originally had West Brom on that list but it was pointed out to me that we beat them in the League Cup on penalties in 2016. I had that as a draw, which it technically was. However have now amended by record keeping to reflect penalty wins (or losses) in one-off cup ties. I say one-off cup ties because say Mansfield in the play-offs in 2004 second leg we won 3-1 but lost the tie on pens. That match is a Win. The only other games I wrestle with is the damn Football League Trophy where a draw in the group stage goes to a penalty shoot-out to see who gets the extra point. At the moment I have kept those as draws. Not that that affects the original question of who we have never beaten.

Thank you Wadey. That's very helpful.

I would say 'nice to have' for all of them. Hope you get a better response from Tom Cliffe on Point 3 than I got from Kelvin Thomas when I raised it at the Open Forum. He insisted that none of it was needed.
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Record Breakers? on: March 24, 2024, 11:22:27 am
Brilliant support this season

And 2nd record breakers today first time we have ever beaten Derby

Lots of media chat about this being the first time we have ever beaten Derby and it got me thinking who are the other clubs we have never beaten. Someone mentioned on the Derby thread that there are seven. I could probably guess who they are but it would be nice to get the facts. The only really big scalps I've seen us take have been Liverpoool, West Ham and (big at the time) Coventry.

Manny Monthe for me. I thought he was outstanding for the majority of the game and I didn't realise he had that type of performance in him.
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Wycombe (a) Sat. 16th March on: March 17, 2024, 13:02:47 pm
I am a big supporter of JB but tactically I think he got it wrong in this game. In his pre-game interview he said he wanted to concentrate on the defensive side of things and that is exactly what he did with his starting line up. What I couldn't understand was his descision to bring on threee defence minded substitutes when we were 1-0 down. Surely Simpson should have been one of the subs if we were going to try and get anything out of the game. Along with Shrewsbury at home this has been my most disappointing game of the season so far.
