A bit strange! So do you start getting excited in November and December? To be fair most supporters started to get a bit worried in November and December last season. The feelgood factor had worn off by then. For me it's been a long summer of rumours, replanning and redundancies. We have a few Cobblers fans at work so Im well pleased to have something else to talk about! Trouble is I've joined JJ Moloney etc on the doubtful list with a flare up of my knee injury.

Don't forget all the foreign languages you hear walking down Abington Street. Hush my mouth Obviously not sure of the tone of that reply. I mentioned earlier in the thread that there are good things in Northampton - the three sports teams come to mind. But there just doesn't seem to be much civic pride, settling for second best or worst contines to be a trait as it has been throughout history

I was going to start a new topic but I thought I'd post here. My journey this morning on the X7 from Leicester... First roadworks encountered at Holly Lodge Drive traffic down to one lane each direction gas works. Second problem the millions spent on kcoC Hotel junction has made no difference. Third the re-modelling of Kingsthorpe Hollow a junction where I have never seen a problem - remodel anyway! a ridiculous four way traffic light sequence Literally bouncing along Barrack road we see the former Royal Mail being converted in to a school, another eyesore building site. Passing the dreadful row of shops approaching Regent Square we turn left and cut through Northampton's embarrassment of a coach station (a few seats and a shelter in Victoria Street). Around the bomb site that was once a fully functioning bus station we finally pull in to The Drapery and get dropped off next to a pile of rubbish that wouldn't shame the summer of discontent outside the rancid pit that is The Auctioneers. I used to be so proud of my home town!

You will find that Coolie drinks a fair amount and expects his guest to buy them. You have been warned. Another thing he has quite a few political grievances; expect a grammar lesson also. Good Luck.
I don't wanna necessarily socialise with him... Just a run down of decent pubs, to be fair unearthed some crackers last season.

Payday tomorrow buy ticket tomorrow, pick up from Greenhaus on Saturday... Another train tip for travelling to Shrewsbury on Saturday, change at Birmingham International instead of New Street. Arriva Trains Wales now run to and from International. At New Street their trains fill up. Joining at International will guarantee a seat on what will be very busy trains at this time of year.

This season reminds me of Cardozas first season and Wilkinson didn't last too long into that one did he? Apart from his "yeah no" answesr to interviews I acyually think JED is a kind of cockney version of Wilder, seems to tell it like it is. However he has a lot of different pressure on him now with all these signings. How trigger happy 5us are we will maybe find out between now and xmas

Now look what you've made me do. I have Daily Mail on me internet history... To be fair looks an ok article, the last paragraph with it's wait and see angle make the whole thing a bit of a non story in a way. I think they're laying the seed for a "told you so" piece if it all goes tits at a later date.

He definitely played on the left of the three on Saturday and I thought I read somewhere that he'd played there at bury. Either way I can't see him being very effective as a right sided attacking wing back!
IF he is playing there then it will be as full back, Regan Poole is on the bench. Philips did ok last year did he not? so strange why he isn't playing. Having said that of course it is a FRIENDLY.

Which is about the same by car from Northampton I would imagine. That's pretty good then.
Not door to door though, because as mentioned before they play out of town now.

In agreement with Marquis, too late to worry about Stand names now, so can call them what they like as long as it brings in more cash as far as I'm concerned.
a Can we rename the whole stadium? What rights does KT have to do that?

I can only remember a couple of Wilkinson's signings being any good, Martin Smith and perhaps Josh Low. Thought that Wilmot was so so. Cant remember the others - also not sure if he spent DC's money wisely as Josh Low was never quite the success we all anticipated. The main difference between Wilko and JE is that the latter has appeared to have brought in some reasonable defenders and midfielders.
Paul Reid?

Poor attempt at corny humour so apologies for that. You could at least given him to November bearing in mind some of the signings have on paper look ok. Plus there is more to come. For the moment I like JE if only for trying to get decent players in.
Yes I agree. However Wilkinson spent Cardoza's money really well but somehow could not get those players to play for him. Calderwood had to come in and sort us out - took some time though.

The club ballsed it up years ago by initially calling it the North stand. That name then got in to the fans consciousness and nobody really called it the Dave Bowen Stand. They should have called it that from the start. It's like if you get the first naming rights to a stadium. I know stokes ground as the Britannia. No idea what they call it now
Council who ballsed it up wasn't it? North South East West - must have took them years to come up with those four. Dave Bowen Stand never really rolled off the tongue any way. Bowen Stand using just the surname would have been better.

They played Wolves on Sat and won 2-0 which is slightly better than us recently. I cant understand why you don't use the Buses, cheaper and quicker from Leicester to Shrewsbury.
Buses? From Leicester? Clearly the travel clubs are cheaper, but freedom, options plus I won't be on a travel club coach.

This transfer window has turned into a nightmare for JED, he had his targets, he now can upgrade those, all this as the weeks are slipping away and he has to gel the team together, poor bloke will def be under pressure as he has the cash to back him, just hope we don't panic to quickly if we have a slow start. As for a keeper I think the new found wealth has opened up a bigger and better pool of players meaning he has had a rethink, slowing the process down.
Martin Wilkinson effect if he doesn't get off to a decent start...
