I think you probably had enough in you for a point there. We weren’t our usual fluent selves at home but some of that might have been you stopping us.

You’re definitely one of the better sides we’ve seen down here this season.

Good luck for the rest of the season and I’ll check in next year hopefully if we manage to stay up.

Why? I thought he was a popular player and your captain to boot?

At the start he was. His injuries combined with his massive salary turned people off him. He also didn't play very well apart from his first 2 seasons.

The owner didnt help things by trying under hand tactics to shift him when the whole embargo and FFP situation hit home.

Moore came out and slated the club and I think the fans took it to heart. I think he was mainly digging at the owner/hierarchy.

He wasn't a very inspirational leader either and people had a general dislike for him.

Been a very weird time at Reading. Nobody has known the truth or whats happening for years. As soon as the owner has gone, I imagine a lot will come out and share their experiences.

Wow  Shocked he must be on peanuts now but a player who has rarely played in two years can't be demanding too much money, he just needs to get his name back out there. I'm sure he'll get a good reception on Friday, if fit and available of course.

It will be mixed

I'll have a different view to coolcat. He's now started in four consecutive games and is getting stronger and fitter by the game. Suffers from a bit of cramp at the end of games but considering his previous injury problems that's understandable. I personally hope he will be offered something at the end of the season but that will probably depend if we lose Sherring and Odimayo who are both out of contract. Jordan Willis is also out of contract and it could be one of Moore or Willis who we attempt to keep.

Is it true that Moore was one of your highest earners when he was with you? He must be on a lot less now with us, and that could also prove a stumbling block when possible new contracts are discussed in the summer.

Our mad owner was offered 12m by Brighton a year or two after our latest playoff final loss. He rejected it and put him on a 4 year circa 40k a week deal to keep him as he believed he was a lucky player.

Do you know what's happening to the tennis ball under the seat as part of the package for the more expensive corner section?
Will they still get a ball to throw, or a refund?

I'm not in that section but willing to swap - throwing mine at the first half sharp to start adi adi adio...

Haha the tennis ball days were over long ago. We progressed to pitch invading and getting games cancelled.

How is Liam Moore playing for you?

Congrats on your 8,000th post too.

Hope it all goes through, although is it not a bit concerning you wont know who they are until its all signed off?

Not massively. New EFL rules state that the identity of bidders can’t be revealed until the deal is complete and as said above, it’s being brokered by one of the good guys from our recent past.

Bidders are thought to be Jim Davis and Steve Bisciotti who are cousins.

They have already cleared this months HMRC bill and player wages.

Although "it could take up to two months" is a bit of a concern though...

That’s the norm for EFL checks etc. especially after the mess they made on the last ones. Expectation is though that it won’t take that long as Howe, our former CEO (during the good times) is brokering the deal and has close ties with the EFL and has already ensured that every criteria will be met.

In what still seems like a dream, the nightmare looks like it may be coming to an end.

We have today agreed terms with new owners and it's now with the EFL for ratification.

I hope no club every has to go through this again. Very stressful and while it might still go wrong, their is now a chink of light.

Should change the tone at the ground somewhat

Welcome and thanks for the info.
What is the intention if the new owners aren't confirmed this week?

None as it stands. We want to secure safety first then see where we are in a couple of weeks.

I think at the moment, we’re treading a fine line between getting him out, not pissing him off too much while negotiations are ongoing and getting enough points to stay in the league.

Hi All

Looking forward to a nice bank holiday drink up.

For those coming by train, Loads of pubs in the town centre for drinking. Best bet would be the Three Guinees or Gateway which are right next to the station and next to the busses/taxis/train that take you to the ground.

Buses are specially put on, take about 10 mins and cost around 3.50 return I believe. Taxis are about a tenner so worth it if 4/5 of you travelling. There is also a very short train to green park which is right next to the ground.

If you're driving/taking a coach there are beer and food stalls around the ground or you can go into the hotel if you want to be inside.

Hoping for a good game and hopefully a party atmosphere if, as hoped, exclusivity on new owners is confirmed this week.
