Seems we also have Russell Watson in the team too, music to our ears no doubt
222  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Home against the Mackems Sat 02.01.21 on: January 02, 2021, 15:01:44 pm
I think BAS has been ok, couple of lay offs and a little unfortunate with the couple runs, don’t think the pitch is helping. McWilliams playing well as is Watson and Rose.
223  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Year 2021 Transfer Window on: December 31, 2020, 06:24:46 am
I would rather have McW in the Team than not, agree he needs to control himself a little better but that type of player is always going to be prone to getting booked because of the nature of their game

Well summarised by Boring Bar, I thought it was probably our best performance of the season. If we could just get Mills back and keep Sheehan fit then we could have a chance with hopefully some additions to come.

Thought the defence was pretty solid tonight, probably would have lost that without Sheehan and Jones in the back 3. Seal started to show some promise tonight. Danny Rose worked really hard all game. Happy this eve and something to build on for Sat

Ref decisions even, soft penalty for us and looked poor decision for their free kick

Next goal key
228  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Home v the Gills 29.12.20 on: December 29, 2020, 19:23:34 pm
Seal did really well to control the ball on the pitch. Great instinctive strike from Rose. We are playing much better and look more secure at the back
229  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Home v the Gills 29.12.20 on: December 29, 2020, 18:36:39 pm
Agree Manwork, what exactly has Seal done to warrant a place? Think we will be harder to beat but not sure where goals will come from, I’m no Smith fan but his confidence will now be shot to pieces and in reality he has seen little of the ball.

I got a couple of jigsaws for Xmas, must admit having an end picture to work to is really helping. I wonder if Keith has got such a picture for his jigsaw, if so what does it look like?
231  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Year 2021 Transfer Window on: December 26, 2020, 16:00:18 pm
He seems to already be suggesting that we will be playing a waiting game, I’m not expecting much and if I’m pleasantly surprised, so be it. Having MacWilliams back will be like securing a new player I guess.
232  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Wayne Williams on: December 26, 2020, 07:44:28 am
PS, WW was indeed a fine fellow, very sorry to hear of his passing
233  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Wayne Williams on: December 26, 2020, 07:43:44 am
Horsham, I can confirm that Arlingham is indeed ‘Horsham Mark’s Mate’ and is in Tier 1, whereas you are probably down in Tier 4 and are one of Horsham Mark’s Mates, mates, mates mate.

I’ve never lived in Northampton, my Father grew up there before the War but was never a Cobblers fan. At around 11 I was a Chelsea fan, they had just won the FA Cup but just decided to start following the Cobblers.
235  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Lin-Kun at Home 19December2020 on: December 20, 2020, 17:31:49 pm
OAP. Everyone one entitled to their opinion, I left home at 8am to get to the game and got home at 8-30 last night, if that isn’t supporting your club I don’t know what is. I couldn’t see us scoring and could see us leaking further goal, at almost 80 minutes I was depressed sufficiently. I ask the question, ‘why do you go to watch?’. I go to be hopefully entertained and hopefully win or draw. I don’t go to be embarrassed. We are the joke of the entire football League, primarily because of tatics and secondly skill.
236  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Lin-Kun at Home 19December2020 on: December 20, 2020, 17:26:22 pm
OAP, you need to be aware that there are two Cobblers fans in Horsham (and no Everbrite we are not the same person), and you’ve just vented your fury at the wrong individual!
237  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Lin-Kun at Home 19December2020 on: December 20, 2020, 08:30:23 am
I agree with you Bungle but I don’t think Curle is accepting of the issues, he believes there wasn’t much between the teams! Until he acknowledges the extent of the issues nothing will change. In addition to the defensive issues we have no striking capacity either. Smith isn’t L1 standard, Seal is unproven, Rose tries but is unlikely to be prolific
238  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Back in the grounds...... on: December 20, 2020, 06:43:16 am
Jim, I agree, it was well organised and no issues with safety at all. First time I have sat in the East Stand, it’s just really depressing when you go behind the seats, quite sad really.
239  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Lin-Kun at Home 19December2020 on: December 19, 2020, 20:36:54 pm
If you can’t take the heat then you have to get out of the kitchen. Keith along with the Team have been over promoted. No one is forcing Keith to stay in the job, that is entirely his decision. I really think we will experience heavier defeats than today this season, these score lines have not been a surprise, it could have been 6 or 7 today. It’s the longer term damage this will create, ST holders not renewing etc
240  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Lin-Kun at Home 19December2020 on: December 19, 2020, 16:36:09 pm
No comments from West Stand OAP, must still be applauding them off the pitch. Arnold made a couple of good saves too. Think Oliver might outscore our entire team over the season
