Think we may have had a decent striker who Aidy didn't want!
562  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The eccentric statements of Adrian Neil Boothroyd on: September 03, 2013, 22:08:18 pm
Aidy is doing himself no favours.

This started last season and most were oblivious to it.

It is now apparent to everyone.

Too stubborn, plays favourites and isolates others, its not good for team spirit
563  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: MKDons on: September 03, 2013, 21:26:15 pm
And losing the next two is a strong possibility if we still have the 3 injuries and no doubt that will mean we would bottom! Really hope it turns round but can't see on what basis.
564  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: MKDons on: September 03, 2013, 20:43:07 pm
To be fair he came with a bit of a reputation and whenever I've seen him play he has quite often looked a liability so I don't think you can blame Aidy for this other than the decision to take a risk on him when he was signed.
565  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Monday transfer news on: September 02, 2013, 22:39:44 pm
Surely Cardoza and Aidy need to be questioned on Thursday evening, we seem to have no ambition, drive, direction or desire at the club, increasing numbers of supporters are questioning whether they hold be attending, there is a hell of a lot riding on Saturdays game.
566  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Monday transfer news on: September 02, 2013, 19:41:50 pm
Careful guys, Everbrite will be on you telling you that you are not a true fan and negative blah blah.
567  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: At least we won't be embarrassed on: September 01, 2013, 16:21:28 pm
Absolutely we can lose to Sc***horpe, we will probably lose at MK with no wonder goal from Jake to get us through and each loss takes a nibble out of he players confidence. Will we have players back for Sat, who knows, Emerton has been me f he successes but without someone to benefit from his work we are going to struggle to get goals and of course Aidy's decision to favour Platt yesterday will now have Blyth wondering about himself!
568  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Bristol Rovers. on: September 01, 2013, 16:14:06 pm
Everbrite you are forgetting the number of games that we won by a very fine margin last season usually because of Nicholls excellent keeping, it's a fine margin in football but without his contribution I doubt we would have been above mid table.

I believe we are only 3 or 4 players away from having a reasonable side but they are missing in key positions.
569  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Bristol Rovers. on: September 01, 2013, 16:08:33 pm
Actually Everbrite I went to all of those games except Cheltenham away ( I usually do between 50 and 75 per cent of games), I would agree we deserved in each of those to win/draw but Aldershot? It was a fluke that the game was even played!

And what about Chesterfield away, Rotherham away nd even Southend when we managed to win!
570  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Bristol Rovers. on: September 01, 2013, 09:03:24 am

I disagree, it was a shambles before Wembley, the difference is we are not getting the fortunate home wins we had last season and these papered over some of the cracks.
571  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: At least we won't be embarrassed on: August 31, 2013, 17:48:27 pm
I can see us losing at home to Sc***horpe too, the luck we had last season has run out!
572  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Bristol Rovers. on: August 31, 2013, 17:15:52 pm
Everbrite will probably disagree and I also don't consider myself a negative positive, just realistic about the situation.

As I said before the season started, I thought this squad would be relegation fodder, players will lose confidence and fans will lose the motivation to attend games, we are now in a vicious cycle and its going to take some resolving.

I am also now starting to doubt Aidy's integrity, why did he play Platt ahead of Blythe? Looks very much like 'jobs for the boys'. Or is it just he stubborn streak manifesting itself even more?
573  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Torquay on: August 25, 2013, 17:27:59 pm
Everbrite I've travelled many thousands of miles watching the Cobblers, I've done two of the 5 games this season, a home game for me is 250 mile round trip and I was a season ticket holder until a couple of years ago so don't think you should be doubting my commitment to the cause, wonder if you suddenly be prepared to spend circa 80-100 fr very home game?
574  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Torquay on: August 25, 2013, 11:28:44 am
I think the Artell situation is probably another Aidy stubborn decision aka Bayo, Guttridge and insistence on playing Platt and accomodating Tozer. As for Aidy's CV I think that was already dented before he came to us. Last year I said Watford were glad he went, I don't want Aidy to go ( we still owe him a debt for saving our skins) but just take a some more notice of what every fan can see and do something about it.

There are loads of supporters who are uninspired and can't be asked to get along and support the club. I'd purchased a ticket for yesterday but decided against going along after hearing about problems on the M25. It's an entertainment business and whilst we can always expect exhilarating football we do pecs a modicum of skill and commitment together with organisation and a plan. There is lots of competition out there for ht people do on a Saturday and the club isn't inning that battle.
575  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Torquay on: August 25, 2013, 07:03:11 am
Platt is Aidy's Achilles heel, he has based our attack on him playing 46 games and therefore saw no need to sign anyone else, I don't dispute that it was time for Bayo to move on but to not replace him is unforgivable. I just don't get the Hornby thing either, he's a mediocre midfielder with age on his side to develop but to expect him to come into the team and add bite, well it ain't going to happen.
Langmead will clearly strengthen defence but that could be a couple of months away.
Aidy said it was time for the kids to step up and now Moyo has gone on loan, agree with this they are not ready but we have nothing else!
576  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Torquay on: August 24, 2013, 17:48:47 pm
Exactly, we all know that which is why I couldn't understand all the pre season hype. I still hope Aidy can turn it around but we've not got long to make some signings to improve the side and of course this will cost money. Think he still believes Platt will come good and that's the biggest mistake.
577  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Torquay on: August 24, 2013, 17:06:49 pm
No one likes seeing us lose and languishing at the wrong end of the table but are you honestly surprised? I know we don't have Langmead at present but we have built a team from others cast offs and still no striker of our own. We were lucky at hom on numerous occasions last season and I doubt we will replicate that from this season. We have a week to sort this but I fear nothing will happen and as predicted we will be struggling all season with crowds hovering around 3000. I really hope I'm wrong.
578  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Spend some money & Doomed on: August 19, 2013, 22:04:10 pm
Are we expected to continue supporting the club week by week with no product of success. If so that will explain the dwindling crowds and it will take a mammoth effort to get them back. You also lose the youngsters who would be the new blood, it was very apparent in the MK crowd tat they had arge numbers of kids turning up with parents, far more evident than in our support, I know of at least two families who live in Northampton who now follow MK!
579  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Thoughts on our team on: August 18, 2013, 21:40:50 pm
It might even be worse than that, we get involved at the wrong end of the table we are then in a fight for survival!

Hopefully home form continues but its the lack of ambition that is so frustrating, people are choosing not to go to games, can't Cardoza and Aidy not sense that?
580  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Southend on: August 18, 2013, 13:11:16 pm
Well Aidy does!
