Good to see the Radio Northampton with updates, and says hopefully DC will be on record later in the week. Herald and Post also tweeted a link to a story about the fans' concerns. The Chron instead preferring to focus on the sunrise in Brixworth and someone using a selfie stick at a wedding

Admittedly I've watched this from afar, and not living in Northampton anymore means I'm not at games so don't know the strength of feeling around the round, but I'm trying to look at it realistically. As much as plenty of people want to be down Sixields now banging the door down demanding answers, a unified, coherent voice from supporters is the best chance there is of making a difference. if you want to grab the pitchforks now, you must ask yourself on what actual facts you're basing it on, because sadly if you only have rumours and conjecture you're losing credibility. At the moment people want to protest with bits of card saying 'we think DC might not have acted completely honestly throughout the process, I've also heard that the takeover is off and my mate in the pub told me he's moved to Canada'
Is that what you want the message to be? The point I'm making is let's get out of this timeframe that DC set, and if there's still the deathly silence and no answers then ramp up the pressure. Get the trust to launch a unified campaign that all supporters can get behind, regardless of their feelings towards the trust (there is an appetite for protest - the trust should follow it through if they wish to maintain the mandate of those they represent). Get that ball rolling, get the Chron asking questions publicly of what exactly is going on now we're out of that timeframe - if they don't the they're failing everyone concerned, not least themselves.
Saturday's planned protest with the ? Is a good starting point, but as things become clearer over the next few days and weeks with this timeframe it presents a good chance to show. United voice if the answers still aren't forthcoming

Ive been watching this from a distance and the whole process has been worrying, especially since the start of the season.
Firstly, it's good that fans are organising an independent protest. Nobody else is going to give us a voice and win the Chron having a reporter and photographers at the game, a large scale protest with ? Can't be ignored. Not accidentally ignored anyway.
It's probably worth remembering however that we're still win the four week timeframe DC last updated us with, it's a bit difficult at this stage for the Chron and the Trust to start making brash public statements based only on rumours. Over this weekend I've read that the takeover has been completed and also that it's off. I've read that DC is in Canada but was in Kingsthorpe as recently as Thursday. There's very little fact to go on which makes things difficult.
In terms of the Chron, I don't think declaring all out war based on rumours and hunches does anyone any favours. I don't think for one minute that the Chron have just sat by and not asked any questions about the situation, it's just difficult to do much when there is nothing factual to report.
If things take a turn for the worse, or we come out of this four week period still without answers or updates, the Chron should perhaps look at asking these questions more publicly. That doesn't necessarily mean whacking a great big DC IS A CROOK headline on the front page as some people would have them do, it doesn't have to be an all out war.
The Blackpool Gazzette have, in my opinion, been a fantastic example of a local paper putting pressure on a club when he situation requires it. As supporters, an official, unified voice is the best chance of putting that message across, much in the way of the Tangerine Knights. For us, that vehicle is probably, whether you like what they do/did ten years ago or not, is the Trust. If supporters want a unified voice, thats the best vehicle.
As for the Trust, again I think they're in a difficult spot but shouldn't be jumping the gun based on conjecture. Talk of Andy Clarke just resigning in protest doesn't actually achieve much, a statement saying he's walked 'because apparently the takeover is off and we've heard that DC is in Canada but we don't actually know for sure' doesnt enhance anyone's case. If he calls a board meeting and is knocked back, the Trust should reassess things and again, like the Chron, perhaps go more public without declaring war. There's also an argument to suggest at this time, it's better, as fans to have someone inside the tent pissing outside of it, rather than breaking off our affiliation with the club altogether.
Then again the takeover could go through in the next few days and I've written this for nothing. Whilst protests are worthwhile (if done properly) will do some good, if the takeover doesn't go through the pressure and questions should be stepped up. Not quite time to grab the pitchforks just yet.

Hang on, BBC Northampton sent a general news reporter with (clearly) little understanding of football and had the summariser grilling the gaffer post-match?

If anyone can argue this successfully, I'll be stunned.
I'll have a go. If you honestly think all chairmen around the country see extra seats and capacity as the first and main source of income then you're deluded. The club could, at a guess (and knowing what a couple of other clubs sell) between ten and 20 boxes per game at, say, £60 a head for a box of ten people in. The simple fact is that a ground of 9,000 won't sell out any more than two to three times a season at best. Whacking it up to say 15,000 and cutting down on the boxes wouldn't sell out unless we got a big Premier League club at home in the cup. Even the play-off semi-final against Cheltenham last year didn't sell out by a long distance. You must be mad if you think by winning a couple of games at the start of the season will mean a 9,000 capacity ground won't cater for demand for seats.

I just do not understand why the club couldn't of announced them in January, imposed these deadlines...and then quite frankly no body would have complained! And they would have sold more for sure.
Really?! So you think it would have been good for the club to flog Season Tickets when we were rock bottom of the league, staring relegation in the face, with no manager and straight after Christmas? Can you imagine the response that would have received?!

With Season Tickets, they're gonna get hammered regardless. Announce them two months ago - can you imagine the uproar from people if we started plugging Season Tickets having just come out of Christmas/January and staring down the barrel?! It would be chaos. Announce them now - People don't have time to throw money together, they should have waited until summer. Wait until summer - Where does the money come from to tide us over the close season? Spot on with the rest of it however. Still able to buy a Dean Beckwith calendar

Working on the basis that Torquay are dead and buried...
I think Wycombe. Had a bit o a surge in form but don't think they're good enough and next three games aren't kind to them.

I'm not sure if the 'must win' tag for this one is such a bad thing. Suppose every game now until we hit 50 odd points is must win, and unlike Exeter, who are desperately out of form, we're in form

Think that response would be more appropriate to your rambling, rather incoherent pompous first post!
Believe it or not, you've always truck me as quite a switched on guy, so something as simple as that shouldn't be incoherent. As for pompous, is it pompous to suggest that whilst sometimes stewards aren't great, sometimes it isn't all completely their fault?

Ian Sharps got a bit of a kick and went off, but that was it. nothing serious hopefully.
Also, the recall option only becomes active after 28 days, so he can't be recalled yet in any case

Obviously there's ways of managing situations and punching a supporter isn't one of them. My argument isn't about that - it's about our fans consciously doing what they shouldn't be doing then having a go when they get ejected.
I don't constantly stand in seated areas at away games, hence I'm never kicked out and don't have a reason to get into a confrontation with a steward.
And you're right. I wasn't there today. I was busy working at another game and not getting kicked out for standing in a seated area

So people getting arsey with stewards because hey were told to sit down and wouldn't?
Amazes me how people know the score when you stand in a seated area, yet still have some mental thing going on where it's the stewards' fault that you've been asked to sit down.
But that's ok, because the fans have had a couple of pints in them so the stewards need to play nice and make exceptions.
Jesus wept.

Course it's successful when the Saints are the only side playing at home. Traffic coming mainly from one direction means they can get their supporters away quickly,. Only problem is whilst it works for them when they're solely at home, it doesn't work when both teams are at home as you have traffic going both ways
