He's not fully fit, that's why he is on the bench.
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Morecambe POTS on: February 19, 2011, 17:09:28 pm
Leon, just ahead of Thornton.
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Aldershot (h) 19.02.11 on: February 19, 2011, 17:07:56 pm
Harrad will miss Burton game now!
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Time For A New Keeper on: February 19, 2011, 13:29:34 pm
Dunn had a poor game in terms of kicking but he's not a bad keeper. We defended so poorly as a team the other night that any goalie would have looked exposed.

With lots of local games off and R & D now waterlogged off, our game must be in some doubt if the rain continues.
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Cobblers Tactics. on: February 19, 2011, 13:25:06 pm
I think it was a mistake not to keep going forward on Tuesday, bearing in mind how poor we were defending. However, how much that is the manager's fault, and how much players' poor play is a debatable point. It will be interesting to see the midfield line-up today, given the disjointed effort versus Morecambe.
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Clarence the Dragon... on: February 19, 2011, 13:22:00 pm
Unlkie most club mascots which simply walk around the pitch pre-match, at least Clarence does try to get the crowd going. Let's hope the players can animate the crowd themselves today.
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: WRONG TEAM, WRONG SUBS, WRONG TIME... on: February 16, 2011, 00:50:26 am
The manager is not the problem. The players weren't good enough tonight and that's why these potentially talented players - Thornton, Davis etc - are in the fourth tier.
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Time For A New Keeper on: February 16, 2011, 00:46:39 am
Dunn made a great save at 0-0 and was playing behind a clueless team tonight. He's not to blame for our midtable position. We need to stop looking for scapegoats. Lets beat Aldershot and Hereford and start being a bit more upbeat.
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Morecambe POTS on: February 16, 2011, 00:43:49 am
Johnson, scored and battled on with an obvious injury.
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Shaun Harrad... on: February 16, 2011, 00:42:44 am
Only a short while ago Cobblers fans were moaning that he was too good to sign for us. Now he's not good enough? The time to judge him is when he receives some decent service! Put Jacobs back on the wing and he might get that. The big player is Osman. Without him the team loses its heartbeat.
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Morecambe on: February 16, 2011, 00:39:40 am
Sammo post-match was spot on. You can't blame him for decent players playing poorly. With the likes of Wedderburn and Holt not fit enough to start his options were limited. Thornton, for all his good touches, is not fit, and Davis is returning from a lay off. We were lucky to get a point. But none of this IMHO is Sammo's fault.
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Vale vs Cobblers- LIVE on: February 12, 2011, 17:22:37 pm
Even Vale website say it was a poor decision:
"The sending off seemed a bit harsh on the Northampton man and perhaps a yellow card would have been more apt in the circumstances.

The name of Anthony Griffith went into the referee's notebook on 87 minutes after a foul on Liam Davis. In truth it didn't seem much different from the one for which Osman was sent off for."
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Harrad Signs on: January 20, 2011, 21:03:19 pm
From the Burton Albion website:
'We have been in discussion with Shaun and his agent but he decided to reject a new contract with Burton Albion. He has received an offer from Northampton which would not be out of place at the top of League One or the Championship. I'm sure he'll go on to be a success at the club and we wish him all the best.'
Proof of the Cobblers' chairman's ambition?
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Harrad Signs on: January 20, 2011, 20:58:58 pm
What happened to our resident forum expert whose 'friend' plays at Burton who said that he would never join us? Hopefully a great signing!
16  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Zola signs on: January 18, 2011, 16:01:35 pm
Does that mean Harrad is off...somewhere?
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Yesterdays friendly on: January 13, 2011, 21:16:50 pm
Harris is only out on loan to part-timers so he must still train sometimes with us.
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Official Winter Rumours Thread on: January 12, 2011, 23:18:28 pm
As someone has already commented, this rumour mongering is all part of the down/up side of the www, depending on your opinion. I just hope we get a couple of strikers in before the season fizzles out.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ryan Gilligan on: January 11, 2011, 22:36:00 pm
Gilligan gives 100%, is intelligent - which is a rarity in the modern game - and I will never criticise someone who wears the claret shirt with pride.
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Official Winter Rumours Thread on: January 11, 2011, 22:00:09 pm
Strikers need a swagger of arrogance. Barnes and Adcock were a class pair. Can't see us getting Harrad as he'd be swapping like for like but a couple of strikers could make the second half of the campaign very very exciting.
