Lots of solid 6 or 7 out of 10 performances from Foley, JJOT and Williams.

But Facey just edges it for me for shutting down Nicky Adams after he had a free reign Vs Powell (not Powell’s fault, he is a winger)
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Keith Curle’s Barmy Army on: October 01, 2018, 22:24:45 pm
Does anyone know his preferred style of play?

3-5-2

Teams played it out neatly from the back when they came to Sixfields.....sadly Taylor can’t kick a football so might not be as successful here.
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Austin out! on: September 24, 2018, 22:26:15 pm
I've tried my best to give the bloke a chance, but I'm sorry the time has come!

Simply not good enough against what I would say is tge worst team I've seen at sixfields for many years and but for Cornell and an inept ref could gave lost.

Enough is enough!

Hahaha. When will you ever learn, Boothroyd Out, Wilder Out, Page Out, Edinburgh Out, JFH Out, Austin Out.

I tend to think things would just be so much easier if we just got it FORWARD.

Idiots!

When you're the manager and you see that there are no goals in the squad and you have a 3 month gap before your next match, shouldn't you change that situation by signing a few players that can score?

Like Morais you mean?
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The 'Clare Balding' POTS: Notts County (h) 22/09/2018 on: September 22, 2018, 17:58:51 pm
Crooks for me, seems someone has also taught him how to head a football. Right MF or number 10 is the best position for him, he is too much of a liability defensively to play as one of two in CM.
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: September 22, 2018, 17:53:30 pm
How the **** is the bloke still in a job?!?!?

Because he is not the one blazing over from 6 yards in injury time, Van Veen is nowhere near as good as his own publicity.

You can’t blame the manager if we are consistently creating more chances than the opposition, that suggests he is doing his job well, it’s up to the forwards to then do theirs.
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The return of #SellOutSixfields on: September 18, 2018, 18:56:09 pm
surely you have the pulling power over the performances of the team - get yourself the public attention that you crave and get this stadium rocking on saturday as we slump to a miserable defeat again

failing that, postpone it until you can get the name of the ground right

You really are a negative berk!
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Possible Takeover on: September 18, 2018, 18:53:35 pm
Just saw this?

Rumours about of a John Stowbridge. Local businessman (Care Homes), talks having taken place and a deal being close. Unsure how true these rumours are.

Anyone else heard anything?

Out of interest, what benefits would there be to taking over NTFC?

Paying yourself a six figure salary as Chairman for a few years.
Or
Moving up the leagues, developing the stadium and selling for a profit?

Which do we think is more likely?
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The return of #SellOutSixfields on: September 17, 2018, 18:41:51 pm

I was thinking of buying a gnome. Should I wait a bit?

The gnome (Ricky Gnomes) was only £20, that dwarfs in comparison to getting 1000 extra punters through the turnstiles.

I’m away at the moment, but I’ve been thinking. Might it be best to postpone this until after this weeks takeover? I would imagine any extra income now won’t help the new owners in the slightest.
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Stats - Easier Games to come on: September 08, 2018, 00:15:27 am
So, 75 points this season and 4-0 against Cheltenham? What leads you to that conclusion then 78?

A) We have one of the best squads in the league

B) Cheltenham are ****

C) Isn’t this last seasons thread?

Top work people, and well done for ignoring the usual suspects 😉
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The return of #SellOutSixfields on: September 07, 2018, 10:11:00 am
Glad to see you back 78 and being pro active again? Incidentally, any chance of doing some predictions regarding a points total for this season? I really enjoyed all the banter last season.

75points, one of the easiest games of the season Saturday 4-0

I look forward to you getting behind this.

Saturday 22nd September Vs Notts County.

Who is up for assisting in bombarding social media and dragging friends/family along to this one as we surge towards to automatic promotion places? I’ll try to get the club/radio/chron involved again. It probably won’t really kick in until after tomorrow’s game.

I’d suggest the negative moaners (Let’s call them the GET IT FORWARD BRIGADE) start their own thread where they can tell each other how this won’t work and how it’s a waste of time, rather than drag a positive thread into a slanging match.

I thought Bridge was very good, Cornell excellent as a modern sweeper keeper but, and I didn't think I would ever say this, and lots on here will think I am mad, but I go for Hoskins for his constant effort and threat.

I hear what you’re saying re Hoskins, everyone is desperate for him to improve the final ball/shot......if he does, he won’t be with us for long.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The 'Clare Balding' POTS: Tranmere Rovers (h) 01/09/2018 on: September 01, 2018, 23:13:29 pm
Foley for me.

Cornell, Bridge and Buchs just behind.
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: August 23, 2018, 21:53:26 pm
What's frustrating, is whenever a team fancy a goal against us they just seemingly walk through the middle of the pitch and score. We're very easy to play against at the moment and teams know this.

Very true, hopefully O'Toole and McWilliams stiffen up the centre.
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: August 23, 2018, 21:34:28 pm
Nice to see Austin doesn't seem to know why the team is playing badly.  Roll Eyes

They aren't playing badly, 1 bad performance in 4 league games.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: August 23, 2018, 21:32:40 pm
A lot of negativity towards Austin which I find odd. We have been on top for 3 out of 4 games and everything being equal with chances scored compared to chances created we would be sat on 9 or 10 points from 4 games. The tactics are right, we are creating more chances than the opposition are, its not Austins fault that Crooks, Williams, Powell and Hoskins have between then missed 10 clear cut chances in 4 league games. Had those players taken their chances we would not be having this discussion.

That said, now Morais is fit, if he continues to play Williams rather than Morais questions might need to be asked. Similarly, the signing of Ward is an odd one, if he is no better than Cornell why not stick with Coddington as number 2? Also, if Hoskins continues to miss chances (which judging from the last 4 years he will) then surely Waters should be given a run in the team. Also, if Buchs continues to get a roasting at left back and Turnbull is not given a shot questions need to be asked.

4 league games is a very small sample, let's see where we are after 10 games, with McWilliams and O'Toole back fit, I'm fully expecting us to go on a good run and be top half after 10 games.

20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Unsettling the U's - Saturday 18 August on: August 19, 2018, 11:29:46 am
And, just a word on Hoskins, there are certain miserable c***s among our support who are willing him to fail. He put in a decent shift yesterday, yet a certain group near us still slaughtered everything he did. Pathetic.

These are probably the same “West Stand Belters” who contactly shout “FORWARD” when we are keeping good possession, passing the ball whilst the opposition use up their energy chasing shadows. So painful to listen to.
