Loose on Saturday and Deanos under some real pressure.

Jesus, here we go again. When will the penny drop? Give him a chance, Iíve been very impressed so far.

Are you asking in respect of yourself?

I point you in the direction of your user name. Say no more.

But clubs can still bid cash now..  Including more acceptable fees. It's really not that hard to understand.

But what if people are thick?
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: August 09, 2018, 10:35:27 am
Apparently they paid £100k + for him. So I'm guessing the profit will be -£100k +
He'll be there for 2 years, do nothing and move on to do the same at another club.

If he says fit and plays regularly for Posh, he will score 40+ in two seasons and they will sell him for a seven figure fee.
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Shaun McWilliams Injury on: August 06, 2018, 23:35:28 pm
I realise Iím in a minority but Iíd be very happy if JJOT and McWilliams were our central midfield pair for most games. I still think heís better with the game in front of him and arriving late in the box. Iíve never felt heís Ďdynamicí enough for that number 10 role. Iíve even got a feelin his goal record per 90 minutes is better when he plays central midfield rather than the advanced role.

Now we have a Morais Iíd expect Austin to play a front 2, donít see him playing as a lone striker and I hope heís not shunted to the wing a la Hoskins

100% agree, when JJOT plays further forward he is just used as the lump we aim long balls to, and he is better than that.

You're having a laugh with that guess! Cloud cuckoo land comes to mind

Iíve heard Crooks on £5k and Van Veen on £4K per week, so the figures quoted would agree with that. Who knows though, what I would say is they are two of our top earners....if not THE top two earners.

Lincoln didn't deserve fvuk all today & had we buried our chances this topic wouldn't have even been started...Can't blame DA for not taking our chances ffs!

UTC!

Exactly this, nothing more to add.

What channel is the HD version on Sky?
Also, is it free or do you need the HD subscription to view in HD on Sky?

Cheers

It'll be interesting to see who starts up front tomorrow, DA used Hoskins as a striker in the last few games last season and did pretty well. We probably didn't have many other options but he definitely proved he should be used up front and not on the wing.

Hi Sam, I think Billy Waters is better than you, you do try hard though.
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Squad Numbers 2018/19 Season on: August 02, 2018, 20:47:11 pm
Same as this season, 22.

Nothing to see here then.
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Squad Numbers 2018/19 Season on: August 02, 2018, 20:33:17 pm
What number was Crooks last season?
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Squad Numbers 2018/19 Season on: August 02, 2018, 17:54:26 pm
No numbers for Jay Williams or Cam McWilliams, so assume theyíll be loaned out maybe with Iaciofano, Whaler and Roberts.
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: August 01, 2018, 22:49:27 pm
I think DA wants a wide man but is quite clever in his interviews. If he came out and said we were desperate for one it potentially gives the seller or the player a bit more power when negotiating costs / wages

I think weíll see another winger, even if itís a loan in the next few weeks

Very good point, the transfer business is much more professional and discrete under Austin, hardly any leaks or rumours.
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: August 01, 2018, 21:35:26 pm
Did anyone specifically ask about Crooks tonight?

I like Austin from what I've seen and heard so far, but if he thinks we have enough wide players, he is very wrong, we need at least 1 more.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: July 30, 2018, 23:22:43 pm
I really can't remember us ever signing a player who has been as difficult as Kasim. Surely has to go down as one of our worst ever signings? I'll save any rude expletives for others to use for him, but one thing you could certainly call him is unprofessional.

How do we know he has been unprofessional?
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: July 30, 2018, 22:08:40 pm
Good idea in principle but what do you do when that player becomes disruptive to others in training? In this case, the player has been getting paid not to attend training. I find it irksome we have to pay him off, but the amount will be dwarfed by what JFH received.

Train on his own, generally players who aren't wanted are kept separate from the main team, training and eating at different times.
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: July 30, 2018, 21:28:53 pm
As I said some time ago, Kasim has been hanging on waiting for the club to pay out his contract. Sounds like that may have happened today. If so, he'll sign for another club very soon.

I wouldnít pay it up, Iíd have him in training daily, double sessions running up and down the Sixfields hill, then out and about midweek doing PR like the other players, then in the club shop or in the family area meeting fans on matchdays. With the offer of being able to leave on a free if another club wants him, but nothing paid up.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ex Cobblers in League Two on: July 29, 2018, 14:06:06 pm
Why this obsession with cost? You're not at work now.
Zanders two best attributes were his commitment to the cause and his ability to fall over and win a free kick when touched from behind. With the ball at his feet he was extremely limited, defensively he had the speed and turning circle of an oil tanker.
Taylor is a much better player, don't let any of your goals against 'stats' convince you otherwise.
(Yes, I know it's all about opinions  Grin).
Because itís not fantasy football where we can sign Harry Maguire, we have to cut our cloth accordingly, no point being unrealistic with who weíd like to sign.
Iíll stick to what I think, Diamond was a better centre back for us than Taylor has been so far.
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ex Cobblers in League Two on: July 28, 2018, 13:41:24 pm
Have a coffee.....

There is a reason why Diamond has been released by L2 Mansfield and a reason why Taylor is wanted by teams in L1 and Scotland.

The only part you right on is that Diamond would be cheaper

It would appear your a bit ABT

All about opinions. Taylor is good in the air, but take a good look at his distribution and general footwork next time you're at a match.

As for Scottish Prem sides wanting him, a top SPL player has just joined a team in the Conference.
