Crooks for me too, only player who looked interested

There isn't really anything to lose with a signing like this, his past form shows he's hugely talented. We're desperate for goals, he offers that threat.

It's a short term deal, he's playing to win himself a contract here or somewhere else so has to show some quality to do so

Taylor again, absolute cut above

Interestingly when Alex Revell was interviewed after Saturdays game he stated that JFH doesn't like lazy strikers, so maybe both Lobjoit and Iaciofano are lazy strikers according to JFH. Also, probably explains the lack of game time Bowditch is getting, because he comes across as very lazy at times.

I'll take a lazy goalscorer over a Revell like workhorse who runs around a lot but just drags himself out of position by doing so

Interesting comments about Crooks. I was in the hospitality section with a Southend supporting uni mate and a lot of their fans rated Crooks including their Chief Exec!

My favourite part of the day was Marriott scoring for Boro, he's Northampton raised. I captained him at youth level and was a good friend at school and I just knew he'd bag today...

He was even there celebrating on the pitch with me as kids when Scott McGleish scored that goal against Chester... f*cking typical

The Chron man seems to think that Cornell had a reasonable game between the sticks. What is the take on this by those who were actually there?

Looked a lot better, don't think he's ever going to be anyone's first choice at League 1 level but he was solid, made a couple of good saves and looked more comfortable under the high ball

If the Chinese have any serious dosh they'll demolish the East let's face it.

Exactly this. It's economics. The East Stand is a sunk cost. It's money already spent and wasted. Looking at economic value, if they want to make a long term gain they have to knock it down.

There is little to no benefit in doing a half arsed job of what we've got and just doing it up as is

Whatever happened to the new seats that were supposedly being put into the West stand? Always felt sorry for whoever sat a couple down from my season ticket last year as the seat was crocked
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer 2017 Transfer Wishlist on: July 12, 2017, 01:38:36 am
Matt Taylor had an "If fit, must start" clause in his contract last season. This is why he was never dropped last year. He had this due to the appearance clause in his contract which triggered an extra year and stopped us leaving him out of the team when he got to within one game of the appearance target. Hopefully it's not in this years contact.

All of the above is allegedly.........

Sorry if i've missed it, but where have you found out this information from? I can't be the only one thinking that that sounds like absolute bollocks. I know we had Rob Page as manager but even he wouldn't be that thick to negotiate such a deal
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Welcome Ash Taylor on: July 05, 2017, 20:30:10 pm
He played alongside Buchanan at Tranmere in the 2012-13 season

Happy with this!

2 days ago many players contracts expired. There are still hundreds of options out there (including keepers and defenders!!!! Shocked) *and no, i'm not going to compile a list.

Yes it would be nice to have a full squad by day 1 of pre-season. No other club in the premier or football league have completely finalised their business.

Negotiating takes time. Players want longer deals, more money etc. You work to a budget, if the takeover wasn't announced and something was leaked, Shoey would be the first to complain that KT was being quiet. He wants some excitement to build around the club, ambition is a selling point for us, having a league 2 mentality in league 1 is holding us back, KT is in the process of trying to change this.

The transfer window closing is a long way away, if it takes until August for us to sign a decent keeper and 2 quality centre backs, that is 100x better than panic buying 3 average ones before the season starts. If we don't have any by game 1 of the season, then we're all at panic stations, not by the 3rd July.
