Sorry to disappoint you but Ron Vlaar of Feyenoord, Villa and the Netherlands has been affectionately known as 'Concrete Ron' for the past decade or so!

Missed this one - sorry!
143  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New songs? on: February 16, 2016, 10:03:19 am
Concrete because he is solid, and concrete rods are the metal Rods inside reinforced concrete. I also love it because I heard someone shouting it when everyone else thought he was ****.

Hot Rod is better than Super rod, But I still prefer concrete because its original. Have you ever heard of a player nicknamed concrete ?

Diamond is the hardest mineral on earth and Rod is the fast setting cheap option next to him Wink

The link is to do with Ron Vlaar, dubbed "Concrete Ron."

What I find best about this thread is that someone has genuinely said "I like Deegan from Southend"

I have somehow stumbled accross the information that the great Alistair Slowe plays for AO Ayia Napa in the Cypriot first division

Brixworth based, been away at Uni in Loughborough for the past 2 years, currently on a placement year out but work most weekends. Managed to get to a few games this season, 3 homes and the trips to Bristol Rovers, Newcastle & Notts County. Done approximately 50 different grounds though in the past 7 years, mainly with Cobblers. Tend to go one in every 2/3 games or so when i'm in Loughborough, mainly decide on a Saturday morning whether to come home or not.

So to help Nut next week, are you voting for Smith or Brisley?  Putting it in bold really helps make it clear.

Sorry mate, yeah I usually do but I guess i'm going for Brisley!

I think we can all agree Smith was MOM, but for the sake of points on the leaderboard Brisley deserves a 2nd place
151  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: atmosphere tomorrow on: September 25, 2015, 16:33:46 pm
How about being right behind the team apart from every time the ball goes into the east stand then have a bit of a pop at DC, then when the ball is back in play carry on with the team supporting

Doesn't even have to be a chant, a chorus of boos would be effective

W*nker of the week. It's nice to michu for jumping the gun early.

Can we make this a weekly thing? I'm sure there will be plenty of nominations most weeks!

Got my tickets today so plus 3 to the total! Also note both the trust and independent coaches are full. Still space left on the Sixfields Travel coach if anyone is still looking for transport
159  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Plymouth fan looking forward to Sat on: August 21, 2015, 10:03:05 am
No, that was Cheltenham at Whaddon Rd. The 4-1 debacle at Home Park was G.Johnson's side kick in temporary charge...though obviously not the same season!

Tim Flowers was in charge for the Plymouth game, David Lee was removed after that 7-2 mauling by Shrewsbury
160  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League Cup Round 2 on: August 13, 2015, 21:52:04 pm
Great draw, not sure what hope I have of getting tickets though as I haven't been able to attend that many games in the last year or so.

Everyone who wants a ticket will definitely be able to get one, it's not like they'll cap the number of tickets we get given
