881  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Rumours has it Leon Mc is retiring at the end of the season. on: April 03, 2011, 08:40:10 am
I tweeted Leon the other day and he replied, he said that he had no intention of retiring at the end of this season. Also he said that he dislikes these forums because people make up s*** about him or something along those lines.

I suspect in a moment I am going to depress myself with BBC's predictor.

My score prediction has us 2 points above the drop at the end of the season, Burton and Stockport to go down, Barnet to escape relegation after a win at mid-table Port Vale.
883  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Burton on Beer Away on: April 03, 2011, 08:08:08 am
I agree, its a big game. Would love to see Harrad get a goal Grin but primarily I would like a clean sheet. The defence hasn't been good enough this season.

Buckle's interview after the game, he seems a bit disappointed, i was not there but everyone seems to think that the cobblers deserved at least a point except a few pissed of Torquay supporters and their manager.

I wonder if this means Herby is twatting off..

I hope so, he's s***. He's shown nothing, maybe that run at anfield, but he has never replicated that again.

His hat-trick at home to Hereford was great Smiley but after he was taken off the whole team seemed to stop playing. Still a good player and would love to see him next season too.

Purcell deserves the chance to impress, i'd imagine that he would be fit enough to play a part pre-season. Hopefully with McKay, Harrad and Bauza, possibly McKenzie if he stays fit and this new player. We could have a decent front line next year so players like Holt won't have to play out of position all the time.

My first game was a 3-0 loss at home to Mansfield in 2003 :/ not a great result, but still go to as many games as possible Smiley
890  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Quality of Goals at Sixfields. on: March 10, 2011, 16:09:50 pm
That Jerome goal was fantastic, and Johno has been in great scoring form recently and he generally scored decent goals too. Lincoln and away at Southend were both great strikes.

Goodbye to a true great.
892  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Poor old Jacobs on: March 06, 2011, 21:13:13 pm
In January, a few championship clubs expressed an interest. I think Notts Forest and Reading were the main two.
893  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Courtney Herbert on: March 06, 2011, 21:12:12 pm
He may be quick, but he's lazy too. His decision making as woeful as well.
894  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager Speculation here...... on: March 03, 2011, 20:46:33 pm
Ok Adam, Let me put it like this. Gordon Strachan has managed Celtic, Southampton and Coventry when both were in the Premiership. He was crap at Middlesborough but there is more chance of me sleeping with Kate Middleton on her wedding night than him coming here  Evil

Fair point. I know he wouldn't come. Someone said they saw him at a petrol station in sixfields or something Smiley
895  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager Speculation here...... on: March 03, 2011, 20:32:24 pm
I never said he would come to us, just that it would be amazing to have him whilst also stating that I admired him. Oh and the thread title contains 'Speculation'.
896  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager Speculation here...... on: March 03, 2011, 20:16:19 pm
Someone mentioned seeing Gordon Strachan, i've always admired him as a manager. Didn't do great at Middlesbrough
though. At a lower level he could be inspirational  Smiley
897  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager Speculation here...... on: March 02, 2011, 19:21:59 pm
Still... most of us will agree that we would prefer a more experienced manager to be appointed. I just hope whoever comes in will do a decent job. A mid-table finish will be acceptable then re-build in the summer and push for promotion next year.
898  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager Speculation here...... on: March 02, 2011, 19:16:46 pm
I was just throwing a name in, he's unemployed currently.
899  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager Speculation here...... on: March 02, 2011, 19:13:28 pm
Roy Keane? Don't know if his name has been mentioned yet? Unrealistic though.
