No, sorry. That was '82. We drew 1-1 and won the replay to play Villa.
Yeah, this was a 3-0 defeat. Came down on the train - a story in itself, but ended up getting a lift in a transit - think the lads were Bugbrooke or Kislingbury. Still at least one still going!

Christ Nigel, how many times do I have to say, I've not seen the letter, so how would I know But no one seems to know, if you published it, would you be the one who gets lumbered with the defamatory. So whoever was on the end of the defamatory statements might be the answer? Hate to pour cold water on the jousting...but I have absolutely no idea what letter, which letter or otherwise, you lot are banging on about! I'll have a B please Bob!

Bear in mind that ASLEF called a rail strike yesterday so it is highly likely there will be no trains between Northampton/Milton Keynes on any operator
Yes. No probs for me personally, we'll be driving down and stopping at the excellently convenient Ibis next to Fratton Park. That is the situation next Tuesday for Charlton away - bus replacement from MK to Northampton on return.

It would have either been double denim, with the odd leather jacket. Sounds just like the brigade in the transit that gave me a lift back to Northampton from Gillingham in the FAC back in 85! No idea why I blagged a lift really - I lived in Hinckley at the time!

Tickets on sale for our trip to Fratton Park. Shouldn't be an issue for anyone wishing to go, allocated an initial 1024! Interesting, a choice of seating or safe standing - all in the Milton End. Looking forward to a weekend down on the South Coast, Albert Rd and the great pubs on the side streets, hopefully the Victory and Mary Rose on the Sunday, maybe Sharon on Saturday night! Orient took 1300 there, though that was their big day out, having not played at Pompey in years - as far as I know, but would be good to get close to that number. By then, Portsmouth will have gone from best team to play us (are you joking?!?) to playoff also rans! :

Yeah, remember it well. We took a decent bunch of Affray there but not much doing unfortunately.
Long time before the Affray were on the scene...more like Marvo and a transit full of denim jackets! That said, wasn't there!

Oxford United will be doing a similar thing that we did for our home game against them, A remember/respect to those fans lost over the 2023 year. So respect from all of us there required prior to kick off!

From pure memory, no need for Frank Grande...away at Waterlooville was given as 3,500...the original home tie, 2,600...and something! Sorry, don't remember the Telford replay attendance! Also, rather strangely on the day of the replay at Waterlooville, the Daily Mirror had a very small piece, along the lines of; 'Hampshire Police have warned that they are aware of a number of Northampton Town trouble makers heading to tonight's FA Cup replay at Waterlooville'

I know that some of you take a healthy interest in these matters so I am just letting you know that following last night's board meeting I am no longer a member of the Trust board. From hereon in my posts on this forum will be confined to comments on the football team and my love of the Cobblers.
You are a decent geez, but they are looking for someone high profile to get a buzz around the place. Don't know if Duston, Random or the other guy can confirm, but SKY News reporting the imminent arrival of Wayne Rooney to the Trust Board!

Brady quoted as saying nothing imminent then at the moment in terms of transfers. The words all fans want to hear 😂 I’m guessing we may have missed out on some initial targets then?
But the club are in a golden, halcyon era - 9th in League One, attendances have never been better, we have a 5 aside pitch bolted on to the hill behind the North Stand...why do we need any additions to that???

Read into this as much as you want, but I’ve been in contact with the club this morning about booking myself in to sixfields, but I’ve been advised that it would be more beneficial to my project, if I hold off, as the east stand Is likely to change in the next few months.
East Stand becoming a rehab centre?

Ex Arsenal, Hibs, Bristol Rovers and Luton keeper Matt Maicey would work! He’s currently training still with Luton having agreed to end his contract since he’d be surplus to needs in the Premier League. He lives in St Albans and would do a great job!
Coincidentally, Dean Snedker, St Alban's keeper (if still is!) lives in Northampton. His missus on a baking hot terrace for the friendly a few seasons ago!

Time's a ticking if we need to bring in a new keeper for Saturday...
Burge I guess will start, with the new keeper on the bench, as Dadge is now out on loan...
Has Thompson been recalled? No, well not yet. So why Burge starting then? What new keeper? Getting ahead of yourself there...classic Strawman argument!
