Birmingham Moor St, direct to Stourbridge Junction (just under 1/2 mile from town centre). Get in at 11.47. Quite a few decent pubs in Stourbridge. Alternatively, also coming in from Moor St (to Stourbridge Town I think) Lye station not much more than a mile away has a couple of decent pubs outside.

Doesnt really matter whether it was in or out the box, the Ref didnt give it. More of a concern is why nobody got on the end of the cross !!!!!
In the prog, JJ was asked what his nickname is. He said "JJ or Hooper". Think you got it right though...'Nobody'!

I think I'll be going but will be buying on the door assuming you can. Not looking forward to it but need to tick Valley Parade off me list
Get the right door...they seem to alternate the away section fortnightly!

I cant say that I have ever been to Stourbridge. A quick look on Google, has revealed nothing much of interest, but it does at least have a Wetherspoons. Which is more than that sh!thole called Gillingham can claim.
Quite a few pubs, real ale and otherwise in Stourbridge. Coming in on the train from Brum, Lye (the stop before Stourbridge) has a couple of decent pubs outside the station, including the Saddlers Ale brewery tap. Lye is around a mile and a half from Stourbridge. The ground is pretty central. Dodgy-ish pub opposite (if still open) and as said, used to have an old skool, Hotel End style terrace behind the goal (social club at entrance end) but may no longer be there...I went around 3-4 years back!

On a brighter note, the 637 who travelled to Kent, made up what I believe to be our highest visiting support to Gillingham...certainly since I first visited back in 85. Unlikely to have ever taken more prior to that.

Had a quick scan through the "U-21" squads out there tonight in this tournament....... West Ham seem to have nobody i've heard of before, but out on pitches tonight we have...
Kurt Zouma in Chelseas starting line up, Darron Gibson for Everton, Ben Hamer, Matty James and Leonardo Ulloa turning out for Leicester, Bojan and Peter Crouch in the Stoke line up, Kyle Naughton and Jack Cork starting for Swansea. Derby have four or five first team squad members playing.....
The scorer for them came on as sub last week or something, according to SKY. Sorry, not paying too much attention!

Honestly no. Olympic Stadium doesnt interest me, Stamford Bridge and Goodison i'd like to visit but for a League Cup of FA Cup game, or if not to a premier league game.
Thought any West Ham U21 games were being played at Dagenham, not the Olympic Stadium anyway!

Totally agree. The Malt Shovel has lost it's mojo. When in town I think the best real ale boozer is the Pomfret Arms 2 mins walk back over the Nene. Maybe BP can dunk his hot knuckles in the river en route Yep, I've been going there in preference after the games for a while now. Handy, with bus stop opposite too!

Stourbridge have probably very rarely, if ever, had to segregate their ground. With an open side, but a given capacity of 3,083 its difficult to see what they could do. As above Whitehawk have the old Withdean seats at both ends of the ground, with the designated away end holding 800. Wouldnt make too much sense to segregate one stand with such a small capacity. They'd lose 100-200 seats at a stroke. Might aswell just give over the entire 800 to away fans to maximise income. That said, income isn't a big thing for Whitehawk who are apparently well backed financially.
Stourbridge can be rather iffy from experience. They had segregation just last season I think. Didn't they play Cheltenham Town in FAC?

Have decided to sample a few real ales in the MALT SHOVEL...are there aby taxi ranks near the stadium for a return journey to meet up with friends after the match? Thanks in advance Malt Shovel has gone downhill somewhat in the last 6 months or so. Landlord (Cobbs STH, despite being more of a Saints pub) looking to sell and rotation of ales reduced a fair bit. 7 min walk from station, where Daventry bound buses take you to Sixfields from bus stop as you approach.

The game v Aldershot (a) 2/3 seasons ago - we won 1-2 which was played in a blizzard was pretty cold. Only 147 Cobbs there on that day! The young 'uns spent a lot of time sledging down the slopes around the path to the ground.
Blizzard yes...but not that cold tbf! * And it was at night...not day!
