Did Magno vierra ever play for Brazil or portugal?

He was on loan....
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League Two 2018/19 on: Yesterday at 09:31:42
I'm praying Macc isn't on a Tuesday night. My best friend lives in Congleton so I'm already looking forward to turning it into a full weekender.

There is no God.

Got to have Phil neal in there - he was such a versatile player you could put him anywhere (including goalkeeper where he’d have been better than kitson)!

Pretty sure he's English?
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Marc Richards. on: June 18, 2018, 12:52:07 pm
I think he was being sarcastic - he’s pretty good at that.

Sorry, I use it as a coping mechanism  Grin
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: June 18, 2018, 10:14:32 am
Interesting view - imo Bowditch was poor first time round and even worse this time - I want players for my team that care hence I won’t even waste text on vV

2 spells the club and I have no idea what his position is. Definitely top of my list to be sold - but strongly doubt we'd sell him. Any rich Conference clubs this season?
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Marc Richards. on: June 18, 2018, 09:24:16 am
Based on attitude - you can have as many coaching badges as the FA can bestow on you but that doesn’t make the character of a good manager - when you see a player with leadership skills on the pitch a reasonable bet for a descent manager - take a look at JFH as a player - fantastic individual but never a leader and in hindsight never a manager

It's why Tony Adams, Roy Keane, Dennis Wise, Alan Shearer etc are all with top clubs.
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: June 15, 2018, 22:50:42 pm
Fair enough, it’s all about opinions. I just feel that prior to the injury he picked up pre season he was looking decent - I think it set him back and then JED was replaced by the tactical genius that was JFH and he didn’t get much of a look in despite some players (crooks, Powell, grimes) drifting in and out of form.

Agreed. He was picking out players for fun against Sileby and The Red Lion.
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which players would you like to see the club try to sign? on: June 15, 2018, 19:14:20 pm
I don’t think anyone’s claiming he is messi, he is a grafter and one of our many issues last season was a lack of balance between the so called flair players and the workers. He’s also nowhere near as limited as some are making out.

He's like Gilligan. But without a goal in him. Much better players out there... Especially if people are suggesting sticking him out wide. Him, Powell and Hoskins would probably chip in with 5 goals if they all played behind a lone striker.
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Players under contract 18/19 season on: June 15, 2018, 12:28:04 pm
I heard that Kasim wasn't turning up to training last season trying to force the club to pay him off.

If that was the case surely the club could just fine him his wages

That won't be true. He'd be sacked for gross misconduct like we all would.
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 15, 2018, 09:49:25 am
I don't think this is necessarily true. If the East had been completed to Cardoza's initial specification, good facilities and upping our capacity to almost 10,500. I doubt there's one person would have complained.

10,500 stadium  Grin Grin Grin in a catchment area that should be rivalling Real Madrid for the Champions League every season?

We need to replace the North and South stand roof with a bank of terracing so fans can be with friends and watch a sustainable/progressive club.

I think this is right?
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: June 14, 2018, 19:45:51 pm
"Part of the 2016 league two title-winning squad, Moloney is understood to have agreed terms with a club in Sky Bet League One, and Austin admitted it was an offer that the Cobblers simply couldn’t afford to match."

I knew I didn't dream it up  Grin
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ins and Outs - Summer 2018 on: June 14, 2018, 19:42:09 pm
I know for certain that Maloneys wife wanted to return to ireland, will be interesting to see if he heads back home or stays in the football league.   Personally I think he has represented the club brilliantly and I'm sure he will get a good reception if he comes back.  lovely lad as well if anyone has ever had the chance to sit and have a proper conversation with him.

I thought he joined a league one club?
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Players under contract 18/19 season on: June 14, 2018, 16:03:02 pm
That Oldham link really impresses me: Smiley Its a situation reminiscent of Archer. At the time Oldham was having a poor spell and as you know we quickly find a scapegoat to vent our frustrations; a la vV. Every game I have seen him play he has not been responsible for the loss or draw. He impressed me against Blackburn, Soton U23 and P'boro(Oct 2017); if he has to play as a No 1 for whatever reason I won't be too unduly worried. In fact, we have defensive players who I worry about more! Finally, I am surprised that you express such a downer on a Cobblers player particularly one who has had limited opportunities here. Give him a first team run and then perhaps we may come up with a balanced viewpoint.

Archer at that moment in time was not good enough (was he late teens/early twenties?). Not what you want from a short term loan (same goes for Roofe).

Cornell at this moment in time is not good enough. At the age of 27, you wonder if he'll ever make it as a No. 1 at league football.

Besides that, I think we actually agree that he has put in some good performances at reserve level cup football - for which he is more than adequate for.
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Players under contract 18/19 season on: June 14, 2018, 14:29:18 pm
Hardly a reserve match both sides had regular players selected. Both sides wanted to win; our 175 support wanted a win. Any decent result against Peterboro’ is always welcome and that includes me! Frankly he is better than your assessment and he saves penalty kicks. I have seen him play regularly and yes he does make some mistakes but so did Ingham! Not everybody on here supports your opinion on Cornell and I remain firmly in the non judgemental camp.

I think reserve team cup competitions I'll be happy with him playing in (I don't bother attending these games).

Actual league games? Nah. Oldham saw him play in the league more than us I believe: http://www.owtb.co.uk/topic/48159-cornell/

Should point out now that I'm no longer on the Trust board as I stepped down ahead of taking on my new job - which is covering all the council meetings.

Hopefully you'll go undercover and find the missing millions.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Players under contract 18/19 season on: June 14, 2018, 09:17:53 am
October 2017 - got you there!

So he looked good in a reserve match?

The guys a disaster waiting to happen in every match. Every fan at every club have said it.
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Players under contract 18/19 season on: June 13, 2018, 18:58:48 pm
Every time except Bury away end of 2017 season he has been ok for me. Played well against Posh ETC. What worries me is the standard of judgment exhibited by some on players like Archer and perhaps even vV. It's almost like a grudge thing!

When did he play against Peterborough?
18  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Former Cobblers on the move. on: June 13, 2018, 18:55:51 pm
From the BBC:

Stevenage have signed former England youth international winger Emmanuel Sonupe from Kidderminster Harriers for an undisclosed five-figure fee.

Who'd have thought he'd be worth any money??

Hard to say when we never saw him play. What's the chances the undisclosed fee is exactly £10,000  Grin
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Players under contract 18/19 season on: June 13, 2018, 12:58:06 pm
His player profile has been removed from the club website... I wonder if this is a cost saving measure?

You'd expect so. Moloney was signed to be first choice, as was Phillips and the same with Facey. 3 first team wages to fill one spot really isn't well thought out and is the end result of having new managers with new ideas.

Hopefully Phillips can prove his fitness and have a contract more suited to his new squad status. Barnett and McWilliams can both fill in... although neither are ideal.

Hopefully fans give him a chance and him after 10 games.
