DA "A few of the fans were screaming for the ball to get smacked forward and I think that kind of put a bit in people's heads and it didn't help."
Right, who was it?

100% followed it with "why's he kicking it up to Waters for. Useless. GET IT ON THE GREYND".
142  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Dean Austin on: September 05, 2018, 10:42:25 am
We've only beaten 1 of them.

It sucks we haven't been able to capitilise a bit more. The quality in difference between the leagues is absolutely tremendous.
143  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: What if we aren't actually very good? on: September 05, 2018, 10:39:52 am
Grin

I must admit, although I have tried to remain optimistic and positive I was underwhelmed with our signings. When we got Williams it just felt like we'd signed a slightly younger Revell. With Morais, given that we paid money for him and I feel we'd be better with playing a 3 man central midfield I'd rather that money went on a wide player.

They'll come good though...honest

We also signed players Marquis and Toney had replaced at their previous clubs. Damn you Page for choosing Revell over Marquis!

As I have said before, we could so easily be this season's Chesterfield.

Once losing becomes entrenched in to a club it's like a cancer and takes a long time to turn.

I'd say finishing in the top half would be a very successful season.

I think we'll have more than enough to stay up. The teams we've played this season have been absolutely terrible so far... I'm certain there'll be worse clubs than us (doesn't get much 'easier' than Cheltenham on Saturday).
145  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Wycombe Wanderers (H) Checkatrade 4/9 on: September 05, 2018, 08:27:03 am
I'd  have thought we should be putting our best team out and getting them to gel. Whatever the competition. When we're sat in the promotion spots, then you can rest players now and then.

But then, does he know our best side?

That's the beauty of our team. The vast majority were here last year, so we don't need any time to gel.
146  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Wycombe Wanderers (H) Checkatrade 4/9 on: September 04, 2018, 20:22:43 pm
Its a plus when you can have a couple of stands closed, (im assuming,as im not there), thus reducing running costs. Other than that, I can see no point in this format of a competition whatsoever. Grin

Just get the North stand open for both sets of fans I say.

Saido Berahino (1), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (2) in the EFL Cup.

First goal in bloody ages for Saido. What a waste of talent.
148  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tranmere Rovers (h) on: September 02, 2018, 11:22:57 am
cant convert the chances and concede goals every game. we look a mid to lower league div 2 side.

Spot on. We dominate teams without creating many clear cut chances. We waste possession so much in the final 3rd it's painful to watch.

149  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tranmere Rovers (h) on: September 01, 2018, 18:41:49 pm
Agree, we massively need a run of results. Attendances and league table are looking drab at the moment.

Also agree about Cornell today... He turned into Neuer for the day today  Grin

All the doom-mongers are back in force.

Since when do people listen to Sammo's views? Does he know everything and is always right. What has he done in management recently?

I would much prefer to see the football on offer this season and enjoy us actually attempting to win a game, long may it continue.

We're playing significantly worse opposition than last season, hence why we're dominating more games. The results seem just as bad though... That's why we have the negative comments.
151  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tranmere Rovers (h) on: September 01, 2018, 16:47:22 pm
How many chances and good attacking positions can one man destroy in one game? Hoskins may as well have played for Tranmere today. He was there best defender at times.
152  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tranmere Rovers (h) on: August 30, 2018, 10:27:07 am
Ollie Banks, one of the crappiest midfielders in league two.

Wasn't too hard to fix his spelling mistake.

Just Privojic who's scored tonight. Champs league qualifier.
154  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tranmere Rovers (h) on: August 29, 2018, 16:06:55 pm
I’m one of the pessimists usually but I think we’ll win this one, anybody else agree?

For as long as Lincoln sit top, I'll be thinking we'll win before every game.

KvV first Cobblers hattrick this Saturday.
155  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Pounding The Tranny... on: August 25, 2018, 18:55:47 pm
Same team to start as did against Colchester unless some have fitness issues. McWilliams to join the bench if he is ready.

I'd consider bringing Waters in for Hoskins.
156  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Colchester comeback? on: August 25, 2018, 16:24:34 pm
Cornell was great and everyone put in a decent shift. Still a couple of things to work on but much better.

Hopefully we'll hammer Tranny next week and go on a run.

Terrorising Tranmere?
157  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Colchester comeback? on: August 25, 2018, 16:04:09 pm
We might see Waters start next match?
158  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Colchester comeback? on: August 24, 2018, 09:52:54 am
Ward
Facey Taylor Pierre Turnbull
Foley Mcwilliams
Morias O'Toole Crooks
KvV

I know we won't, but I'd play this formation/team currently. Would offer us much more defensively and keeps all the current underperformers out (besides Taylor... But he's still better than an in-form Barnett).
159  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Football Managers on: August 24, 2018, 09:22:20 am
Ah, just seen he was caretaker for 9 games last season and a few more games in a previous season. 45% win record as caretaker, 20% as manager..
160  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Football Managers on: August 24, 2018, 09:19:14 am
Scunny sack Nick Daws. Managed one game less than Austin I believe  Shocked
