Oh dear lord.
3102  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Will Wedderburn come good? on: July 04, 2011, 21:48:34 pm
Has anyone mentioned how good Wedderburn looks into todays photos?
Obviously been looking after himself for the past month. Glad to see.  Smiley

I like how Bayo looks like a heavyweight boxer. He must be around 17 stone! He's huge!

Tonights game has been really exciting if anyones been watching it? England were losing 3-0 vs Germany, now 3-2 with 6 minutes remaining  Tongue

That is a brilliant quote.
3105  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Cobblers v Saints. on: July 04, 2011, 18:27:00 pm
Yes but many also work either shifts or away from home Monday to Friday and can't make weekday games.

If all clubs started having more weekday games it would definitely mean less away fans. I would def go to less.

I'm a firm believer in 'football is for Saturdays!'

100% agree. Booking two days off work for Bristol Rovers away is such a ball ache for me. If it was a Saturday, could have easily just drove down Friday night.
3106  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ryan Gilligan on: July 04, 2011, 16:51:23 pm
Alistair Slowe and Ryan Gilligan in the same transfer window? Wow, Yeovil have certainly got one up on us  Roll Eyes And to think they have Skiverton and we are stuck with their bloody Gary Johnson eh. Darn it Yeovil.

I'd love to put a cheeky fiver on Harrad being top goalscorer. I reckon he'll bag a hatful this season.
3108  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Putting Your Money Where Your Mouths Are on: July 03, 2011, 23:16:21 pm
BWIN have slashed their odds for Cobblers to win the league from 22/1 to 16/1.  They must have got a scent of the great things occurring at fortress Sixfields!

I noticed that. Happy I got my 22s when I did. Betfair are still doing 20/1 though, which is very reasonable.

Just bacon strips for me.
3110  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Michael Jacobs on: July 03, 2011, 16:15:08 pm
Now that would be an interesting dilemma.

Say P*sh offered £1.1m, and Huddersfield offered £1m, would people rather we accepted more money, or would they rather see him anywhere else but our old rivals?

Pboro would also sell him for a profit, thus making us more money with an inevitable sell-on fee. So in business terms, the smart move would be to go P'boro, but my heart would hate to see the best talent we have produced in recent history get a 'big move' to our local rivals ...

Well, this is stunning. I am in shock watching this! Shows how inept womens football really is.
3112  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Michael Jacobs on: July 03, 2011, 15:44:31 pm
I can see P'boro spending some of there Mackail-Smith money on Michael Jacobs ...
3113  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Bradley Johnson on: July 03, 2011, 15:10:09 pm
Marvo hasn't made another return has he?  Huh? Tongue
3114  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Michael Jacobs on: July 03, 2011, 13:08:55 pm
Duh?  Newcastle paid £1m for our very own Ben Tozer after he'd made just 2 appearances for Swindon.

I say we sell to Newcastle.

But just couldnt get close enough to be effective, he wasnt allowed too, credit to Klitschko.

Thats my thoughts on the fight too. Klitschko really got himself into great shape for the fight and he looked like a proper, experienced champion.
3116  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Bradley Johnson on: July 02, 2011, 16:57:57 pm
Leeds got fuck all. They also obviously haven't the acumen of a multi-millionaire business man like yourself.  Roll Eyes

Bollocks did they. They got a few years service out of him, and also a promotion to the Championship with him. 250k is peanuts to a team like Leeds, and a lot of money to a team like Northampton.
3117  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Chris Dunn on: July 02, 2011, 16:54:55 pm
That's rubbish!

All keepers make mistakes but Dunn has made into an occupation.

You completely missed my sarcasm there ...

Surprised he has not got himself fixed up with a club.  Probably would be a better bet as left back than some 18 year old kid from a Premiership side - as we saw with Reckord some will not have the mental toughness to survive in L2.

When have we ever sold a player for their true market value.

Billy Turley.
