Are people seriously saying that Hoskins is a better wide player than D'Ath?
They've both scored the exact same amount of goals for the Cobblers hilariously.

Within 7 days, Curle has dropped Buchs, dropped Taylor entirely from the squad, managed to only concede 1 in 2 and given Melville the boot. Initial thoughts were totally underwhelming. These acts however are winning him over very quickly for me He's been building the east stand in the evenings as well.

that is very flattering for d'ath to put him in a bracket with those 2
I just picked the 3 players ahead of Hoskins at the time. Could probably put Lee Martin in there too.

As a lower league two side, he's about adequate. Frustratingly, he gives the ball away more than any player I've seen in a Cobblers shirt (and misses more 1v1s) and will certainly need replacing if we ever have playoff aspirations. We've needed proper wingers since the season we let Adams, Holmes and D'Ath go.

I'm sure like most you didn't mind Austins appointment at the time it happened.... I think most would agree he should go when he did.
I'm not a fan of appointing caretaker managers... It tends to always work out in similar fashion (Sc***horpe had basically the exact same thing happen at the exact same time).

An issue for me as well as the above is the ability to score goals throughout the team.
Crooks should get some, O Toole has or had the knack of finding the net. Taylor and Pierre are big guys and should be more of a threat from set plays.
It wouldn’t matter so much if we had a 30 goal forward partnership. Reality is we don’t so need cover from all areas and I can’t see much coming.
Get McWilliams fit as although a goal scorer his energy and breaks from midfield give others more time.
Without someone like Grimes on corners, we'll struggle from set pieces this year regardless how big they are.

Have to say, Curlio comes across way better than DA, much more articulate and reasoned
I read this exact sentence every time we get a new man a we in

If I was a defender I would hate Hoskins. If I was a keeper I'd love him.
As a defender, just keep showing him wide. He never takes it past a defender and ends up floating it chest height into the keeper. Twice I've seen an opposition play him a perfect through ball for an unpressured 1v1 only to watch him hit it straight at the keeper both times. A traffic cone in the middle of the goal would have stopped hoskins scoring this season.

Ward Facey - Williams - Barnett - Piere - Turnbull O'Toole Foley - Mcwilliams Bridge Pollcok Williams I cant find a way to drop more players The old fashioned 'can't drop many more players whilst naming a 12 man starting 11' technique. Classic.

I think DA would have been sacked even if he hadn’t lost his head in that interview . KT had Curle lined up in my view. I do know KT questioned the players’ commitment today though . Basically , I don’t think DA played a particularly intelligent game and was not really capable of dealing with players that are not as committed or passionate as him . Management of people is a skill and I think he fell short . Good luck moving forward though - he is a decent man
Thinking about the interview, I reckon he knew he was sacked. KT probably told him he needed a result on the Friday.

Win percentage at their Last two jobs in the FL before joining : Wilder 41.5 % Page 37.5% Edinburgh 39% JFH 44% (27% at QPR) Curle 41.7%
Other than JFH who's record was hugely inflated by taking over a successful Burton team. HE has the best record in his last two league jobs out of our last 5 managers.
Wilders record is also inflated by his time in non-league with Oxford.
It all looks very promising. Considering our fans were happy with a manager with a 10% win ratio for Farnborough, I can't understand the negative attitude towards a manager with a plus 40% ratio in league two. His former clubs fans rate him, and he has a track record of stabilising under performing sides.
