If, not when
IF things go wrong it will at least be reassuring that Tom and the supporters board will be there to coordinate things as regards the future direction of the club.
82  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: January 13, 2024, 13:15:15 pm
I think the missing £10m might be a bigger scandal?
Yes

Now I may be wide of the mark here and I readily admit to reading between the lines but my instinct says it is safe to say that past and present board members of the trust will not be welcome on the new supporters panel  Grin

In all honesty if the contents of the letter are correct then there’s no way the trust can continue as basically those who have acted against the club must be in contempt of the actual supporters trust ethos.

To be honest this is the biggest scandal that has hit the club in my forty years as a supporter.

The findings have been intimated on this forum but now the letter has been published in full it is quite astounding.

If correct the trust have cost the club and cilldara financially which doesn’t sound good to me.

Dundee United heavily linked with Mellon.
Mellon isn’t a root vegetable

You'd think it would be important to release wouldn't you, but apparently not.
Openness  and transparency

I assume Carlton Lid will be getting involved in the new board.

Excellent chance for people to ask these burning questions they want answering and that have been answered 100000 times, they just don’t like the answers, never will.
I don’t think anyone with links to the trust past or present would be welcome such is the disconnect between anyone who has sat on the trust board and the club itself.
‘Acted against the club’ is damning.
88  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: January 09, 2024, 18:30:45 pm
Aren’t the Cobblers doing bloody well?
Wrong thread  Wink
89  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Supporters Advisory Board on: January 09, 2024, 18:27:17 pm
So what would have happened if you had posted this in 2015, after the initial "We want answers" ?

Do you REALLY think the best way to answer any awkward questions is to silence the people who might ask them ?
In the case of those who were on the trust board when all the cloak and dagger secret meetings etc etc were occurring the answer is an emphatic YES.
I hope the new supporters trust (because it’s basically that) led by Tom is much more open and democratic and then the answer to your question would be a NO

So in a nutshell it would depend on who was asking the question and what their own previous experience of answering questions was.

The Trust had nothing to do with the JR as you well know.

The Trust and its board do support THE CLUB, but that should never automatically mean the owners

Tell me, what will your thoughts be if the owners don't finish the stand, asset strip us of £2m of running track land and then sell up?

Just to let you know , I won’t be ‘telling’ you anything.
Just like members of the trust couldn’t tell you anything about the cilldara situation because they weren’t consulted.
This wouldn’t have happened with Tom in charge.
I don’t see why you are so rattled by this new venture for the fans.
It’s a great way to be able to ask someone a question and they can contact the club who will give you an answer.
It’s easy Peasy.
The trust cannot engage with the club anymore but luckily Tom can which obviously makes him the go to man nowadays.
There is no need for an organisation that can’t interact with the club and now the club have rectified this with a new initiative.
That has to be good for the fans and cuts out the need for secret meetings etc.
Is there any way the trust could hand over the money it has in its funds to Tom and it can be put to good use.
An open , democratic supporters group is what people have been calling for and the club have enabled this.
Surely you can see this is a great step forwards and finally reunites the fanbase.

LOL did you skip the part about excluding the Trust, not being welcome.

Tell me when have any of the other groups questioned anything the club or owners have ever done or said?

David Cardoza revisited is all I can say  - we want answers - no we don't ! we don't want to even consider how thing might play out

It’s clear the club have excluded the trust some months ago and it’s no surprise to anyone who read the judicial review.
The club and the fans now have an inclusive way forward for those parties that SUPPORT the club.
Organisations that they have stated have ‘worked against the club’ were hardly expecting to be part of things were they?
Let’s just all move forward under the new SAB
93  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: January 09, 2024, 15:26:45 pm
Your last line says it all really. and Tom, in his position, is the one fan who could possibly bring about a change, to champion improvement, better facilities, a plan for the future etc etc

That is all I am saying, I note not one thing mentioned regarding achievement by Tom in his role in any replies, just more abuse and false narrative that I am being nasty. I am questioning the differences being made not how nice the guy is or how many people he spoke with.

All I am asking is what has he managed to achieve and also what are the aims of the SAB ?  what improvements are they actually looking to make?

Get hold of Tom , he’s the man for these questions now.
That’s the whole point of it.
Supporters go to him if they have a question
This is the new way of interacting with the club.
Tom comes across as a really decent, open chap and the invited groups now have one person to approach regards club matters
Onwards and upwards
94  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Supporters Advisory Board on: January 09, 2024, 15:17:15 pm
I think he talks brilliantly and the perfect way of organically building a 'Supporters Trust' with a seat on the board. FAB.
Makes perfect sense to me and a responsible way of growing the relationship between club and fans. I don't get the impression for one second that the group will need to be gagged or fanboys/girls.

Absolutely superb
Open shop rather than closed shop.
Like night and day.
95  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Supporters Advisory Board on: January 09, 2024, 13:34:31 pm
Derek said "They came in waving their £11M" which is a FACT. What they said is of no significance, obviously.
It’s all ancient history and going over old ground , what is important now is the new supporters advisory board which is the new way forward.
I think it’ll be a good thing for those supporters who want to move forward and will give them confidence that THEIR voice will be heard and that they will actually be kept abreast of developments rather than being left out of the loop with decisions being made by others on their behalf.
This seems a very democratic set up on paper and that’s what many fans have been asking for.
Let’s hope it all pans out and supporters finally have a way of getting their opinions heard in a democratic and direct way.
A big step forward for supporters imo.

You got the wrong player, didn't you Shoey? Grin

I thought you previously said that player was Mellon, until you deleted it!
Spot on
99  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Supporters Advisory Board on: January 08, 2024, 17:03:34 pm
Another way for the fans to engage with the club, making the trust even more irrelevant perhaps?
The trust ARE irrelevant as far as the club are concerned and there’s no way back
I agree this is the new way for fans to engage directly with the club without third parties sticking their oar in.

I see young who has done well at Swindon has been recalled by Bradford and has been the subject of six figure bids by port vale and Exeter.
