Re: Fees from overseas
No I am not making it up, I would expect to see something, don't tell me the owners / KT are not taking money out on a regular basis.
I know KT received over £1m for his sale of shares to the Chinese but who is paying his flights etc
KT says he doesn't take a salary but there are many ways to skin a cat
Do you know how much the Cardozas charged 1st Land for consultant / finder fees on the East stand development?
I can't remember the exact breakdown, but I am sure Grossman's personal expenses accounted for more than £300,000. Mind you, I think the Jewish Burial company scappered with close to a quarter million: I still can't see how they explained that one away.

I think the misunderstanding comes from a few years back when it was reported that Tull "Probably "wasn't awarded the Military Medal because of his colour, no proof was put forward to support this theory.
Was it the BBC who reported this?

I am not denying the facts, I am providing you the facts from the Government data.
I have worn a mask and followed the guidelines to the letter. I am just pointing out that even the government data shows its not actually 50,000 deaths due to Covid.
Even if someone tested positive a chunk of those deaths are actually the result of other illnesses, and 16% of the deaths there was not even a test carried out,
"Our definition of COVID-19 includes some cases where the certifying doctor suspected the death involved COVID-19 but was not certain, for example, because no test was done. Of the 46,736 deaths with an underlying cause of COVID-19, 3,763 (8.1%) were classified as “suspected” COVID-19. Including mentions, “suspected” COVID-19 was recorded on 8.4% (4,251 deaths) of all deaths involving COVID-19."
My aunt died of COVID in May. She was 88 years old and in poor health, and in fact had been bedridden since last October. Nine weeks before she died she was rushed into hospital where she was diagnosed with pneumonia. At this time she tested negative for COVID. Her death certificate lists her death as COVID related. She either contracted COVID while in the hospital, or else never had it. Who knows? Either way, she wasn't a well woman. No one in the family believes that COVID was the primary cause of death. My best mates uncle suffered a stroke and was taken to hospital. He died nine days later from a COVID related death. When this was queried the family were told it was because he had been placed on a ventilator. So who knows? Those are just two ACTUAL cases. GEN.Disorda is right, the true facts are out there. But the likes of Evers would rather take the BBC's word on it. Don't get me wrong, I am not denying the problems caused by this illness. But for those in relatively good health it is not the threat that has been portrayed: I say this as someone who has had COVID, as have my missus, one of my daughters, one of my sons, my daughter-in-law, and five of my grandchildren.

Why are you ridiculing people who my not think the same as you Shoemender ? I'm a season ticket holder and I wouldn't give a penny to a fan owned Club, my choice.
Whilst I don't believe fan ownership to be the best viable option for ourselves, it can work. Although I'm not sure that Hearts 'fan ownership, but not fan management, will thus become a reality' model is the way to go. I may be reading things wrong, but it looks as though a small group of people will look to retain control at Hearts. If the scheme ever was implemented at NTFC, then I'd prefer a 'one, fan, one share, one vote' model. Let's say that you had the option of investing £60 pounds a year (as a minimum) into being an 'owner' of NTFC. People could invest £60 or £600 or £6000, it wouldn't matter, because only £1 of any one payment would go towards purchasing a share in NTFC - the rest of the money would go towards the club's running costs. Fans that choose to invest more could do so, but they wouldn't have anymore claim to owning the club than someone who only invested the minimum pledge. Each fan registered as an owner would have/receive exactly the same benefits as the person next to them; ie, one fan, one vote when it comes to electing board members etc during a (let's say) bi-yearly election. There could be other benefits, such as discount cards etc, but still equally applicable to all who have bought into the 'shared ownership' model. Don't get me wrong, no fan ownership scheme is completely ideal, and in certain instances a club will always need some financial big hitters - take this last eighteen months as an example of how things can suddenly turn pear shaped. But, given the implementation of any new ownership model, I believe something like this would be the best option for bringing Northamptonians on board. There are a lot of people who would be willing to invest on a yearly basis if they could genuinily claim to be a 'joint owner' of NTFC. Would you ever consider investing in something like this, tcobb?

My first game was against Villa: 1-1 at the County Ground in front of 15,000. We lost the replay either 3-1 or 3-0 in front of +27,000, and by then I was hooked. I assumed every game would see those levels of support. As for when to first take the kids. I've tried a couple of mine from as young as four, and it doesn't work. They don't have the attention span at that age. A few of the others I waited until they were seven, and this seems to be the sweet spot - for the boys anyway.

The coaches all parked up about half a mile or so from the ground and we were escorted, around 1000 or more of us to the ground. Someone shouted some obscenity towards the police and the copper just in front of us turned round and punched my mate, who wasn’t the culprit, squarely and firmly in the stomach causing him to double up and bring tears to his eyes, “pass that on to your mate” he said. Aah, the good old days.
We hammered it going up there, passing Cobblers' coaches all the way. We said to a copper when we got there "How many you expecting." He answered that "We expect 200 are travelling." We laughed our **** off. I think the official count was 1500, which wasn't too shabby for a midweek fixture and a struggling Division 4 side. Still, Moss Side on Sea was quite pretty at night. Nothing a nuke couldn't have smartened up.

I'll have a dig through some old programmes when I get a minute, see if I can find anything. I'll tell you one one, mate, the goal he scored for us at Man City was an absolute corker! We may have lost the game, but it was a helluva lively night.

Also hate the Liquidator...and the inane seal clapping before each game. I always gaze towards the away fans before wanting to curl up in a ball and hide!
Yep! I always preferred a good chorus of "You're gonna get your f***ing heads kicked in!" sang with genuine venom.

All joking aside, I completely agree with you. I cringe everytime I hear goal music! ...and the liquidator bores the s***e out of me.

My thinking too * - some of the suggestions on Bauhaus who to me play tuneless mutterings with iron age hard rock beating out is eminently unsuitable. The taylor made for us is ' These Boots etc' and could work if chorused in an intimidating/passion manner. The tune I remember from the more successful periods of Cobblers fortunes is ' were going up again, up up' and was often belted out unashamedly gleeful! * No way does this suggest or insinuate the same repetitive identical thinking - far from it Couldn't disagree more, Evers. But if not Bauhaus, then surely it has to be something from Love and Rockets. Ball of Confusion would be most appropriate but I suspect Evers would prefer one of these. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kYU-2SW-dQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMnaa__JZbUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-L41MhFPU9s

The modern solution used by the most successful clubs isn't either data vs the scouts' eye - it's both. It's rare that "scouts" just watch games now (picture the sheepskin wearing bloke taking notes in the stands).
The manager / head of football will tell the head of player recruitment the profile of what type of player they are wanting - say for example a centre back with the ability to carry the ball and pass accurately through the lines (e.g. in the mould of Harry Maguire), given the manager would like to be able to transition the ball better to forward players. The head of player recruitment would then work with the analyst/scouting/recruitment/whatever you would like to call them to figure out how to identify them. Given that its their career I'd imagine they're pretty adept at cutting through the noise of hundreds of data points (many are irrelevant) and finding some that can identify the right type of player for the manager. After that they would need to select appropriate leagues to find player data (i.e. leagues where players can be signed for reasonable fees/salaries. They would then shortlist a number and then decide which of them to watch in more detail. At first this would be done via player information databases / scouting tools such as Wyscout. These allow the (paid) users to watch whole games on demand. Pretty much every league that Cobblers might sign a player from will have virtually all its games uploaded to these databases so this allows them to get a very good understanding of a player. If I'm not mistaken you can actually focus the camera on a player too so you can watch how they move and react throughout a game also. With all this footage the analyst/scout can see patterns in a players general play and write a report on them, perhaps also including statistics to support their visual observations on them. After this a club might decide to watch a few games in person. If a player is out of contract this might be difficult, but given tools like Wyscout the necessity for this might depend on how fussy / old school a manager is.
The key thing is that a player would never be signed on impressive stats alone. Those are often used to highlight a player, but a player is always watched as well!

I was born under da CHELSEA SHED I was born under da CHELSEA SHED Knives are made for stabbing, Guns are made to shoot, If you come down da CHELSEA SHED, We'll all stick in da boot, I was born under da CHELSEA SHED
or
I was born in the Stretford End, I was born in the Stretford End, Boots are made for bootin', Scarves are made to wave, If you see a City fan, You put him in his grave.
or Charlton/Leeds I was saying goodbye to my horse, And as I was saying goodbye to my horse, I was saying goodbye to my horse, Goodbye Horse...
I'd be surprised if we actually have many/any originals. It's hard to get something brand new going, especially at our level!
It became the case that everyone eventually ended up singing 'horse.' It's actually an old navy shanty that refers to men going to sea, and saying goodbye to their whores.
