That was fvcking immense!!!

Also in the record books for the biggest L2 play off final victory too

I'm happy to admit I've been critical of KC but boy, has he put many of us in our places with the last two fantastic games!

We've finally got an identity & the last two games have been fantastic to watch, direct aggressive front foot football

KC thoroughly deserves his long awaited promotion and imminent new contract offer

KT has also confirm he will do all he can to bring in Morton for next season (he was live about 2am from Florida on the It's All Cobblers To Me Facebook live feed)

Cherish this moment guys.....it don't happen often!

WE ARE GOING UP!!!

Morton.....season long loan next season if we can't buy him (he's only got a year left at WBA)
23  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: PLAY OFF FINAL: Exeter City (Wembley) 29 June 2020 on: June 23, 2020, 18:00:37 pm
Do we get any money for these 3 televised play off games from Sky?
24  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Cheltenham Town (a) Play-off Semi-final 2nd Leg on: June 22, 2020, 23:11:23 pm
Most complete performance since THAT 2nd leg v Bristol Rovers

Never in a million years did I see that coming

Credit to everyone involved

Now, let's hope season ticket holders are permitted into Wembley next Monday night!

You gotta dream  Wink

Most complete team performance since THAT Bristol Rovers 2nd leg...

Gotta be Morton though!
26  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Out of contract on: June 19, 2020, 23:03:16 pm
Does anyone seriously think for one second that KT would sack a manager that got the club to the play offs, given the record of his three previous appointments? He's more likely to give him the job for life.

He wouldn't be sacked...his contract is up  Roll Eyes
27  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Out of contract on: June 19, 2020, 10:04:11 am
KC is out of contract, so it would be exactly the same situation he was in at Carlisle (ie they let his contract expire and didn't offer him a new one) his race should be absolutely irrelevant.

He's done a decent enough job but I believe he's taken us as far as he can. He will never change his style of play and has said as much. Absolutely no plan B.

I just don't think our talented youth lads will ever get a proper look in under KC, eg sticking on Anderson last night rather than Pollock.

Personally, i'd be happy to be mid to upper L2 trying to play half decent football and properly blood the youth.

Tisdale is still available & would fit that remit but I think KT will probably offer KC another year.

It should all become a lot clearer after Mondays game.

Trust board update: June 2020

Play-offs v Cheltenham

We would like to wish the Cobblers players and staff every success in their upcoming play-off games against Cheltenham Town.

And we would also like to wish the Shoe Army an enjoyable time too, especially those who are cut out for the occasion as part of the Cobbler in the Crowd promotion.

Here’s hoping the team can get to get to Wembley and be in with a promotion shout to cap a campaign played to a finale in the most challenging of circumstances.

Good luck Cobblers!!

East stand development update

The Trust board met virtually to discuss the latest update regarding the east stand development.

We are cautiously optimistic that this is a big step in the right direction but the plan has not been shared with the Trust and we require more detail to ascertain whether any potential deal is in the best interests of the football club and the local taxpayer.

We will be submitting a Freedom of Information request to Northampton Borough Council and firmly believe that the town’s citizens are entitled to full disclosure of the proposal under discussion.

Face mask sales for charity

Face coverings are now mandatory for anyone using public transport in England and our popular claret-and-white face masks remain on sale via the Trust’s website.

If you are interested in purchasing a mask, they are priced £9.99 plus £1.50 postage and packing, with all profits going to Northamptonshire Health Charity in aid of the local NHS at Northampton General Hospital.

To purchase your facemask, please visit our website at the following link:- https://www.ntfctrust.co.uk/news/article/claret-and-white-face-masks-for-sale

Club 500

Club 500 has doubled its membership since its re-launch.

Accordingly, monthly prizemoney has gone up with the first prize on offer now £250, second prize £100 and third prize £50.

If you are not already a member of Club 500, please consider signing up for just £5 a month and help boost Trust funds. The more people who take part the bigger the prize pot!

Details of the scheme can be found on our website – www.ntfctrust.co.uk – or you can contact promoter Roger Averill for details at rogeraverill1952@gmail.com

Community Ownership

The board has agreed a blueprint for community ownership at Northampton Town FC.

The campaign document was prepared by the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) with submissions added by the Trust.

Once an amended and finalised document is received back from the FSA it will be sent out to Trust members for information and feedback.

NTFC 2018/19 accounts

As a shareholder of the football club, the Trust is in possession of Northampton Town Football Club’s full accounts for the year end June 2019.

We will be issuing a statement on the club’s accounts at the beginning of next month.

Ever since they took over the club, KT & Co have been trying to untangle the legal mess they were left with after the Cardoza debacle, aswell as trying to build bridges with NBC (remember there was actually a trust member on the board during the illustrious reign of Cardoza yet it was James Whiting who actually blew the whistle!)

If KT & Co / NBC make a few quid from finally getting that eyesore of an East Stand finished then good luck to them.

Surely by keeping it professional and not "running it by the trust" is how business should be conducted as the trust has no place on the board now anyway.

I'm personally embarrassed to be a lifetime trust member atm as pretty much everything they report is predictably anti KT & Co with no tangible alternative suggestions.

31  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: June 11, 2020, 11:29:20 am
BBC reporter Marc Webber tweeted a reply to me saying that it will be discussed further on the returning Cobblers Show next Wednesday evening on Radio Northampton.

Not sure if KT will be on the show but I'm sure questions will have been asked by then.

I'm taking it as a positive as it's the first time a deadline (31/07/2020) has ever been mentioned regarding this.

Would make perfect sense for the work to commence whilst no fans are able to attend games.

Here's hoping!

Just added it to my original post...

The Trust have released a statement via Facebook off the back of this news.....you can guess their response! Roll Eyes

East Stand development update

Here is the full statement from Northampton Town Supporters Trust which was provided to the BBC:-

"The deal on the East Stand has not been shared with the Supporters Trust and we have had only limited insight through freedom of information requests to Northampton Borough Council.
"Our reaction has to be constrained by the painful experiences of the last commercial arrangements that the council struck with the club, namely the £10.2million loan under the previous owners the Cardozas and the non-legally binding agreement with the present owners, which has seen no progress on delivering the East Stand from the owners' own funds.
"While clearly we welcome progress towards the completion of the East Stand, it should be on terms which do not compromise the interests of the football club and the local taxpayer.
"Given the still largely unrecovered sum of £10.2 million, we believe any deal has to have the support of the wider council and not least the local taxpayers, who have had to shoulder that shortfall.
"Any attempt to cloak this deal in 'commercial confidentiality', given the wretched history of this long-running saga, is entirely unacceptable."

Northampton Town stand loan: £500k deal 'close'

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-52977873

A deal to help complete a multi-million pound football stand at the centre of a long-running financial debacle has been proposed, the BBC has learned.

Northampton Town FC was originally loaned £10m from Northampton Borough Council to refurbish its East Stand - before work stalled in 2014.

The whereabouts of the money has since been subject to a police investigation.

A council spokesman said the sale of neighbouring development land for about £500,000 was being negotiated.

The club would be given an option to buy council-owned land next to Sixfields stadium, on condition the grandstand was finished.

The BBC understands this also includes a deadline of 31 July to sign the relevant paperwork.

The deal would would see the council sharing the proceeds of any subsequent development with the club.

A £3m cap on the cost of completing the stand was also likely to be part of the deal.

Northampton Town was originally loaned more than £10m to refurbish the stand and redevelop the land, but the contractors - Buckingham Group - left the site in 2014 because they were not paid.

Work resumed the following year but when payments still were not made the contractors downed tools again, putting the development company responsible for the project - 1st Land Ltd - into administration.

A spokesman for the club, which has since got new owners, told the BBC: "The overriding principle, as it always has been, is the development of the East Stand and that is an agreed point with Northampton Borough Council.

"In addition, NBC will need to demonstrate best value for any disposal of the freehold land, which is also accepted by the Football Club."

He said the club "does feel it has made progress" in discussions.

The "missing millions" have been subject to a four-and-a-half year police investigation which has cost the council £1m in legal fees and led to multiple arrests and files prepared on 30 suspects.

The BBC understands the proposal is to split the proceeds of the land development equally between the council and the football club.

A council spokesman confirmed discussions were taking place and said it had been "no secret" the football club was keen to develop the land, and had "put forward ideas for a number of possible development schemes".

He added: "Should a development deal progress, then the East Stand of the stadium absolutely must be built before any further development takes place, and any deal must deliver best value for the tax payer."

Our form is currently dire so why KT would even entertain the prospect of offering KC a new contract is beyond me...

KC has thankfully stabilized the club but with no promotions in his 18/19 year managerial career, and the fayre being served up, i'd let his contract run down...

If we make the play-offs and put up a committed show in those games, then perhaps talks can take place, but I honestly can't see us making the play offs...

This season, L2 has been atrocious, yet we've still not showed regular consistency in a very poor division...

Tisdale or Nathan Jones for me but not sure KT has the finances/budget to entice either of them

It's all about opinions afterall!
40  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Swindon Town (Home) 11.02.20 on: February 12, 2020, 07:56:44 am
Hoskins & Williams both woeful last night...yet again KC takes off Oliver when he is the ONLY focal point for our hoof ball tactics...

Hoskins & Adams as wing backs were working so why change this? Marshall can easily play behind the strikers & would prove a bigger threat with his skill...or even give Warburton a proper run in the team in his natural position...

We've been sussed big time by the opposition & need a plan B
