I think we're doomed anyway, irrespective of tonights results. We'll be lucky to get another point, never mind another win. Hope I'm wrong, starting Friday. Can't see it though. Not being negative, just realistic and no Evers, I don't have an anti club agenda.🙄

Ipswich (especially after today) and Gillingham both in mediocre form and rapidly disappearing from the play-off picture.

There are points to be had IF we show up for them.

At least we're playing a striker tonight.

87 majority  Cool

Says a lot about the people in this country, that, doesn't it.

Following my argument correctly we would still be managed by Rob Page as the successor to Chris Wilder, the last manager who voluntarily left.
Given where we are I would argue that it doesn't make any difference if it's Curle or Brady. Both are competent managers playing against other clubs also with competent managers, so the results to the end of this season are more to do with luck than anything else.
Fingers crossed!

Curle's football was utterly dreadful to watch though - something your theory doesn't take into account.

Up to 22nd, 1 point from safety.

We have the BEST defensive record in the bottom seven. Crazy.
Lets hope the goals keep coming now.

Burton looking safer with every passing game.

Derek Adams is a name ive heard more than once today

This would be a great appointment in my book, probably the best we could hope for, but surprised we'd be willing to pay the compensation.

Tisdale in for me.

Inconsistent in League One but a very strong track record at League Two level.

Probably what we need.

So itís Bradyís fault that Mitchell goes walking? Who else (realistically) is going to sort this **** of a squad out? Nobody!

It's Brady's fault that he played Mitchell again when he has been consistently useless, yes.

Although this was a positive performance and actually a good result...

It does absolutely nothing to change the perception that the current team is simply incapable of scoring a goal. If we can't score goals then, even with a solid defence, we will be relegated.

Team selection and tactics good... substitutions still bizarre. Why take off Rose and Marshall (our two biggest threats) when we desperately need a goal? Surely Sowerby and Hoskins were crying out to be subbed instead?

Paul Tisdale might be a good shout?

Sacked by Bristol Rovers with a shocking record this season.

But generally a good manager at this level. As has been stated above, you're not going to get a manager with an umblemished record unless you pluck somebody from non-league.
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: CURLE OUT. on: February 09, 2021, 23:31:31 pm
Garry Monk would be a great appointment if we could get him.

Honestly I'd even settle for Ian Holloway at this point
12  General Category / General Chat / Re: Taking the knee on: February 08, 2021, 20:09:24 pm
Here's a stupid idea. Why don't all footballers this weekend take a knee in honour of Captain Sir Thomas Moore to show that Real Heroes' Lives Matter?
It wont happen.
It wouldn't be allowed because it would be construed as being patriotic and therefore by default racist.

You're right, that is a stupid idea.

As stated above, a round of applause was an appropriate show of respect in that case.

Bet you're one of those "all lives matter" plonkers; deliberately missing the point.

Weird flex when you were wrong.
We did get a result at Accrington.

Cant see Adams on the teamsheet.
Smiths on the bench for Motherwell.

I didn't either at first.

He's playing right back as has been named captain
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Suspension of the EFL on: January 07, 2021, 22:23:38 pm
Wimbledon's next two games are vs Sunderland and Portsmouth.

Ours are vs Oxford and Milton Keynes.

Should be enough to push us out of the points per game bottom four?

17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Year 2021 Transfer Window on: December 30, 2020, 11:37:16 am
Only opinion but 'Marshall one of our 2 best players?' Please name ONE game he has started that he has played well. Good cameo's when coming on as sub BUT not when starting!

vs Southampton Under 21s he was outstanding. His opportunities have been limited.

The play-off final he came on very early and pretty much played the whole game too.

I'd argue that, whilst not our "best" players (Sheehan is our best and it's not even close) I would say they're our two most creative - something we desperately need considering our misfiring strike-force.
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: CURLE OUT. on: December 19, 2020, 19:21:59 pm
First time I've said this:

Curle must go.
19  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Taking the knee on: December 10, 2020, 23:17:11 pm
Booing is not an appropriate response at all given when taking the knee represents.

Those people who did boo KNEW that it would seem, and feel, racist.

If you take issue with BLM then don't applaud.

If the Cobblers players chose to take a knee then I would gladly applaud. It's a powerful, warranted statement.

The part of the post that is unnecessary is  "..... Asian nurse administers the German developed, Belgium manufactured jab to an Irish woman...." why does anybodies race/country of origin, in this case Asian and Irish have to do with the Covid Vaccine ? Its just using that person/s race/origin to get cheap laughs. Unacceptable.

The joke was that us British have bigged up our own involvement in developing a Covid vaccine when actually the credit should be given to others.

It's giving due credit to people from minority backgrounds, if anything.
