Oldham vs Bury tonight as they both complete their game in hand on us... no idea what our preferred result would be in this one to be honest.

I think Long would have been the obvious choice had he still be on the pitch. But, alas, he had been substituted.

Absolutely don't blame JJOT for taking it.

Interestingly the bottom eight have stayed the same for a few weeks now, only moving position amongst themselves.

17. Doncaster 15
18. Wimbledon 15
19. Oldham 14 (game in hand)
20. Rochdale 13
-------------------
21. Bury 12 (game in hand)
22. Gillingham 11
23. Cobblers 9
24. Plymouth 7

JJOT missed pen

We would need to make it to their penalty area in order to get a penalty.

Sounds truly awful again, but I think it's mad to blame JFH. Players are simply either useless, or unwilling to put the effort in

The sad state of it now is there aren't many players I'd be sad to see go. In fact I think it's only JJ, SH and BM I'd be sad to lose.

Agreed. Add to that Matt Ingram but he's only on loan anyway.
170  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Leon Lobjoit on: October 13, 2017, 13:35:21 pm
for every steve morrison there is a courtney herbert, andy morrow, ryan thompson, joey benjamin, scott cross........................................

Yeah but even if we'd had Courtney Herbert and Joey Benjamin up front on Saturday I doubt it would have been worse than 6-0.

At this stage anyone is worth their chance.

Still very confident we can finish above Gillingham and Wimbledon. Probably Oldham as well? We're lucky that there are some other very very poor sides in this division (as well as ourselves). Saturdays game is already a massive one.

Must admit my surprise that Plymouth are struggling so badly though. I thought they'd be a top half side in League One.

172  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Injury Updates.... on: October 10, 2017, 15:05:01 pm
Mainly positive injury news from today:
- Shaun McWilliams and Sam Hoskins are now "fully fit" and available for selection
- Chris Long is "back running" and is "touch and go" for Saturday's game
- John Joe O'Toole is back in full training but won't be ready for Saturday

However Moloney is not training and not available for selection

Also there was not **** 11,000 in that stadium tonight. Looked about 7,000.

Was the number of visiting supporters confirmed anywhere?

Pierre

Taylor and Poole also impressive though. Hanley and Hoskins showed promise and I would have liked to have seen more of both of them... Powell by contrast was pretty average again yet lasted the full 90.

People talk about this 10er a ticket lark, but our likely showing of support tomorrow proves in many ways that when a club halves the cost of a ticket it makes little difference. Id be going if it was 20/22/24quid. If it was 30quid I wouldn't bother. Its more about time for me, less so money. Its nice that its a tenner but it hardly influences the masses into going. We'd have sold 1300-1400 (instead of 1500) for tomorrow by now if it had been 20quid!

Myself and a friend have only decided to drive down from Leicester for this one tomorrow precisely because it is only £10, so there are examples of the discount working! I appreciate your point in terms of revenue (MK would certainly be making more money at £20 a ticket because the offer certainly won't double the number of visiting fans), but i do think it will add a fair few to the gate. Hopefully including a fair few who only decide to make the trip from Northampton last minute Smiley

There seem to be a number of particularly poor teams in the league this season.

Ourselves aside, Oldham and Gillingham have started the season remarkably poorly. With Oldham yet to pick up a single point from five games. Gillingham also seem likely to struggle and are winless so far this season. Plus there are teams like AFC Wimbledon and Rochdale operating on relatively small budgets who have also made an unconvincing start to the campaign.

Considering the (perceived) quality of the players in our squad, even a reasonable managerial appointment should see us recover to a comfortable lower mid table position this season.
