Managed to get my group for tomorrow up to four, none of the other three actually support Town, and the group includes two who have never attended a competitive Cobblers fixture before! The prospect of a day pub-crawling round London followed by the football appears to be very appealing to the neutral! Hopefully the team actually turn up in order to tempt them back!

Do you seriously think there will be a thousand there?
Nope, I made it explicitly clear that I'm *hoping* for over 1000. I expect fewer, maybe 800, although I don't think it's impossible that we could take that figure.

Who's going? Hoping we can take around 1000 for a game in a decent location against higher league opposition.
Where would people recommend for a drink? Not just necessarily near the ground (although a pub near the stadium would be handy!) but also around London in general as my group are gonna make a day of it.
Hoping we play a few of the younger lads and see a more motivated performance than the one today. Certainly no reason why Lobjoit, Long, Kasim and Poole shouldn't start as they can't perform worse than the ones today. Richards and Matty Taylor should certainly not start as, even if they are first XI players, they're not capable of playing in every game all season.

Don't understand how we can sign so many new players yet still have Richards and Matty Taylor in the starting XI.
Cornell also sounds very error prone (as per last season).

Any from Villa / Birmingham / Wolves away would be absolutely fantastic.
Looking for winnable ties I'd fancy us at home to Southend / Peterborough / MK / Bristol Rovers, as well as against Championship sides likely to put out weakened teams such as Ipswich and Bristol City.

Certainly pleased with that league line-up myself as well! One more year based at Lancaster University and should be able to attend a relatively high proportion of our away games again next season. Also a fair few locally that I haven't visited before including Blackpool, Blackburn and Oldham. Great stuff. Hoping as many as possible fall on a Saturday.

Probably unrealistic but Shay Given? Would imagine he wants to guaranteed first team football at this stage of his career so might be tempted by us? Would also be able to 'coach' the younger keepers in our squad I'd imagine. Probably out of our budget range though.

You mean its narrowed it down to one? Asking people if they want to go to Exeter or Blackpool is like asking would you rather have a nice hat on your head, or birdpoo on your head.
I think the general consensus in this thread has been a preference for Blackpool actually; you seem to be the only one with a vendetta against the place. Exeter wouldn't be bad either but only on a Saturday in August / April

I did read it but who we want and who we get is a different conversation . You are talking Hollywood and Cricklewood .
We're discussing which team we want to play not which players we want to sign...

Thank God they wont get in. What a load of crap.
Looks like a series of excellent ideas to me. Certainly would have a positive impact upon football at the grassroots level, and indeed throughout the lower leagues. Getting fans involved in decision making and the running of clubs where possible is an excellent idea. No doubt though it's the latest in a series of Labour policies which would benefit the vast majority of those affected but which will be rejected by a stubborn electorate who've already made up their minds on Corbyn and his party based on biased media reporting and the electorate's total failure to grasp Keynesian economics.

Totally agree with our vote to scrap it.
The season doesn't need these extra games in it and I don't see why people cite Wembley as a reason for the competition to exist. You can get to Wembley in the play-off final for a genuinely meaningful game, and it's not unheard of for lower league teams to reach the latter stages of the League Cup / FA Cup anyway (Bradford and Millwall in reason seasons from memory).
