Always amazes me how poorly Marc Richards does in this. Maybe he is one of our best players, but maybe he doesn't run around a lot like a headless chicken to catch the eye of some.

Or he's consistently decent but never amazing?

After a decent first half Coventry getting hammered yet again. Final nail in the coffin I suspect

266  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: People leaving early on: March 10, 2017, 12:40:28 pm
Some of us work shifts and therefore have to leave early. Others leave due to the drivel being served from time to time and some us get that bored we go back to the pub. At the end of the day it's up to the individual when they leave. Pointless thread.

Hope this helps

Doesn't that make you more a "consumer" than a "supporter"?

I think there's a marked difference between the two; if I attend a game I'll support the team for 90 minutes even if we're playing terribly (a lack of effort is harder to forgive but even then I have never even considered leaving a game early).
267  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: People leaving early on: March 09, 2017, 23:26:04 pm
I always find it strange that people leave early. You wouldn't leave 10 minutes before the end of a film or a gig to get away quicker.

You'd be surprised
268  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New songs? on: March 07, 2017, 00:14:50 am
Would love to hear a return of "all we care about is NTFC", thought it was one of our best songs for a period last season (especially Cov away), and don't think it will ever stop being relevant in some way or another.

Also Keshi Anderson's name fits the lyrics to 'Give it Up', as previously song in honour of Ryan Gilligan and Roy O'Donovan in recent times; don't see any reason to not reintroduce that.
269  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Radio Northampton on: February 28, 2017, 20:52:18 pm
Tonight Dense-ly managed to mispronounce Oglethorpe's name somehow.

Radio Northampton spending 5 minutes talking about Claudio Ranieri at half time rather than the match...

Criticising for the sake of criticising.

Tonight's coverage was very good, just frustrating because of the performance of the team. Not the fault of the commentators.

They'd covered everything there was to say at HT about our match. We had been awful and the match had been uneventful. Ranieri was the biggest footballing story of the week and it was interesting to hear their take on it.
270  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Owls Tuesday (H). on: February 28, 2017, 20:45:47 pm
Face it, heroe to no hopers in record time. Good luck JE.

Don't think we quite matched Leicester's record there actually
271  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Owls Tuesday (H). on: February 27, 2017, 14:30:45 pm
Smith
Eardley (Moloney if fit) -- Diamond -- Zak -- Buchanan
McCourt
JJ -- Boateng
Williams (Wylde if Williams is unfit and adjust formation accordingly)
Rico -- K. Anderson

Don't see what M. Smith offers to the team at all. Honestly think he's looked totally useless since his arrival, and his finishing is possibly the worst of anyone at the club. The sooner we get Revell back the better.

You mean north-west bias?

Correct. Completely moronic moment from me there. Edited.

Why would Diamond be banned?
Thought the window for 5 yellows = a suspension had ended?
275  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Fleetwood (A) on: February 26, 2017, 11:49:07 am
Absolute shambles second half didn't look interested at all had to walk out after third goal

You keep banging on about the "second half performance" as though you haven't already admitted to leaving after 60 minutes and therefore missing 2/3 of the second period.

We really weren't as bad as you're making out. Dominated the first half with a couple of really good chances that Smith should have put away, conceded a really lucky goal just before the break and then played poorly at the start of the second half against a team unbeaten in 16 who were at home and had their tails up. At 3-0 it was game over (Edinburgh tried some different tactics after this, with the game lost, they didn't work... it's better we found that out today than vs Oldham on Tuesday). That spell of 15 second half minutes cost us, we were poor but not awful.

If you thought that was a performance worth walking out on, I seriously question why you bothered making the journey. Fair weather supporter.

do they deserve the support they get week in week out

Absolutely. We've been in good form recently, and this was the first game we've "deserved" to lose since MK Dons... are you still expecting to win every week? The effort was there.
276  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / The Clare Balding POTS: Fleetwood (a) on: February 25, 2017, 19:04:38 pm
Diamond for me, only ok performance out of a truly shocking back 4.
JJOT also decent.

Balding certainly a contender
277  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Penalties on: February 24, 2017, 20:47:54 pm
I would have O'Toole take them - had a good record from the spot as penalty taker for Bristol Rovers.
Revell was also decent from the spot earlier in the season.

Not sure about last choice but Richards is a poor choice considering his consistently poor penalty record since returning to us.
278  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Fleetwood (A) on: February 24, 2017, 10:37:35 am
Any word on how many tickers we've sold so far for this one? Would be fantastic if we could account for 1/4+ of the total gate figure
279  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Fleetwood (A) on: February 21, 2017, 12:24:03 pm
Injury update: Revell available for selection, Williams & Moloney are not but should be fit again in time for next weekend.

With this in mind I'd imagine we'll start with an unchanged team (although Zakuani has to again be in with a shout), Revell will certainly get a place on the bench considering we still have dross like Beautyman on there who I doubt Edinburgh ever intends to bring on - although in fairness I was thinking the same thing about McCourt until the last couple of games.
280  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Fleetwood (A) on: February 19, 2017, 18:47:32 pm
Another tough away game next Saturday. Although we'll hopefully be boosted by the return of Zakuani and Revell, I would definitely take a point considering Fleetwood's long current unbeaten run and impressive home form.

Any recommendations as to where is good for a few drinks beforehand? Got a hunch not many of our lot will be travelling (fewer still via public transport), but a quick google search for Fleetwood suggests there are very very few places of interest. Is Blackpool the best bet for making a day of it?
