61  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Grimsby Town's player charged with racist abuse (Cobblers game) on: May 27, 2020, 11:54:18 am
The Grimsby player has admitted to the charge.

£2000 fine, six game ban and compulsary FA education course as punishment.

Seems about fair.
62  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League Two: Average away attendances 2019/20 on: April 16, 2020, 09:08:16 am
That's really poor. We definitely shouldn't be behind a lot of those clubs, especially considering our geographical advantage.

Must try harder.

Marshall
65  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Swindon Town (Home) 11.02.20 on: February 11, 2020, 21:05:31 pm
Interested on peoples opinions, Arsenal guy injured so take him out of the equation, have any of the other new boys really improved us?

Marshall looks quality and was our MOTM tonight for me.

I'm going to this and convinced a mate to come as well.

So far he has been to 11 Cobblers games (all away), no wins. Last one he did was Oldham away earlier this season.

Apologies in advance.

Hoskins again
68  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Derby County (h) FA Cup Fourth Round - 24 Jan 2020 on: January 26, 2020, 21:43:39 pm
Shrewsbury or Liverpool at home would be a fab draw if we could get through.

Potential of a 'glamour tie' and a real chance at getting through to the quarters, especially if Liverpool are playing their kids / no Klopp in the replay and the Shrews sneak through.

Hoskins head and shoulders above the rest

I also agree with others on here that Anderson and Cornell were the other stand-out performances
71  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Salford (a) 11/01 on: January 10, 2020, 08:07:27 am
I will be in attendance for this, looking forward to a new ground and a big away following

I've heard there are only two toilets for the entire away end so that could be interesting
72  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The 'Clare Balding' POTS: Salford City (a) 11/01/2020 on: January 10, 2020, 08:05:39 am
Balding seems a bit low down on the overall table? Pretty sure she got the 3 points for the Crawley game?  Huh?
73  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The 'Clare Balding' POTS: Stevenage Borough (h) 01/01/20 on: January 02, 2020, 08:51:35 am
Adams.

Turnbull and Oliver also decent. The rest of the lads who played the full 90 were poor.
74  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Macclesfield on: December 21, 2019, 08:01:47 am
Another four points if it is off?

At least another four, possibly more considering the communication problems.

Puts Macclesfield bottom of the league despite having won just one fewer game than they have lost. Can't see them lasting the season.
75  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Macclesfield on: December 20, 2019, 11:00:59 am
Game on Saturday now in doubt over safety concerns.

At least four more points to be deducted if they do have another game called off.

Hoskins
77  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Grecians away on: December 07, 2019, 22:33:16 pm
Thought that game was well worth going to for the Hoskins goal alone. We looked very good until be scored but faded out, increasingly once Smith replaced Williams (why??)

Shout-out to the old bloke in the shades directly behind the goal. What an absolute nutter. Admittedly very entertaining for the most part hearing him unironically call every player a **** and a **** from about 40 minutes onwards. But it did get tedious and he made a couple of racially aggravated comments aimed at their centre-back that I was slightly surprised the stewards didn't pull him up on. It's the kind of thing that is (rightly) being cracked down on at games now.

Some of our fans make me wonder.

Good away day anyway, hadn't been before, would go again 100%.
78  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: FA Cup 2019-20 on: December 07, 2019, 02:52:30 am
Moved because the clubs wanted longer prep time after the New Years Day games.
Personally doesn't bother me.

Ah, that's fair enough and makes sense. I assumed it was for some kind of TV coverage (ie the BBC goals programme but I think that only runs in the first two rounds), hence my confusion.
79  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: FA Cup 2019-20 on: December 06, 2019, 20:53:10 pm
Why have they moved this fixture? It couldn't be any more low-profile.

 Huh? Huh?
80  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: FA Cup 2019-20 on: December 02, 2019, 19:55:49 pm
There were worse draws out there, Gillingham and Portsmouth away being prime examples.

I fancy us to give them a good game and possibly beat them if we can maintain our form between now and then.

Be good to see JJOT playing again as well.
