1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: July 10, 2012, 14:00:07 pm
I subscribe to the official football league app and watched the interview on there... There was no mention of the redevelopement whatsoever. DC confirmed that that the priority is a centre half. A short term keeper to cover Higgs injury. We have a few trialists training with the squad in Croatia so Aidy may offer them something if they impress. He also went on to say that he wasnt happy or unhappy with the Jacobs deal but said it was a fair price... No other offers were received for Jacobs but he was always going to sign for Derby as he wants first team football, if Newcastle made an offer (they were linked) Jacobs would have turned it down for first time football at Derby

That's a different interview which went on the website today. In the one about the re-development DC says the land deal will be signed off on Wednesday which puts the structure for re-development in place and is the big step, once that is done we can start looking at how much money will be made and how much we can spend basically.

Didn't Weale sign for Yeovil, or was that yet another rumour?

I was told by a Leicester supporting friend of mine a couple of months ago that he would go back to Yeovil but was under the impression it would happen pretty quickly after I was told so not sure whether it'll happen or not.

Coventry fans hate both Eastwood and O'Donovan, seem to hate Eastwood because he was lazy and didn't perform and O'Donovan because he just didn't cut it. Eastwood has also come out as saying he hasn't been happy since he left Southend and that he would like to go back there permanently having already been told he will be offered something by them.

In the latest video on Cobblers Player Cardoza says "we're really really close to making an announcement on the redevelopment but you just think you've done it and something else crops up, we're trying to finish off a couple of last minute bits and pieces and when we do then we'll have something to say". Will be interesting to see what this announcement reveals, if anything.

i assume by centre back you mean when he came on as sub at sixfields and played left wing and hammered crowe?!

I think he was talking about the away game whilst GJ was still 'in charge'. Remember he scored from 25-30 yards in that game as well! Was extremely entertaining to watch him laying into the ground when we equalised as well!

Certainly wouldn't sat no to Moshni though, tore us a new one in both games against us this season!
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Clive Platt on: May 26, 2012, 00:57:58 am
A friend of mine who supports Coventry was rather annoyed they had let Platt go and said he is good in the air and does well for the team even if he doesn't score much...hopefully playing two leagues below where he was last season he can score a few more for us!

Great to see Sammo back in management, hopefully he can do well there and progress up the leagues!

Both STEVE HOWARD and Chris Weale have been released by Leicester...

A friend of mine who supports Leicester has said the Howard is going to Notts County, almost a done deal...and there is strong rumours that Weale will be joining the poisoned dwarf at Yeovil!

Yeah, right. Some of us don't subscribe so would you care to enlighten?

Basically says he is looking forward to going back to America for as long as he can to see his family, friends and enjoy the weather.
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Anthony Charles Signs.. on: May 18, 2012, 11:01:45 am
I don't buy this squad player talk.  If we were a Prem team with a 25-30 man first team squad, then yes, but if you believe the talk yet again of having a smaller quality squad more along the lines of the 18-20 that Accrington or Morecambe have, then I would have thought that all of them should be competing for places and be of similar ability.  I don't see how we can carry "squad players" in such a small squad.

A 20 man squad still leaves room for 9 players who aren't starting and 4 who aren't even in the match day squad, I would have though Charles would again start the season as back up to, fingers crossed, Carlisle and then Langmead as well as a new LB, I personally would say he could easily cover for Langmead as he has similar experience and quality, especially after a full pre-season.

Not sure if we can read anything into this from Kitson via Twitter...

neal kitson @nkits86

All moved out.. Heading down to London n then back to #NYC on Monday.. Cannot come any sooner! #homesweethome

I would imagine that he was in some form of temporary accommodation and is going back to America to see his family before pre-season.
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / John Johnson on: May 16, 2012, 14:56:43 pm
According to the clubs official twitter feed, he has signed a new one year deal with the option for another year.

http://www.ntfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10425~2774407,00.html There is a link to the article on the official site as well now.

The Duberry thing was on the rubbish footballrumours site.

Ahh, well its probably fairly safe to say he won't be in a Cobblers shirt next season then!
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Official Summer Rumours Thread 2012 on: May 14, 2012, 19:54:22 pm
I was told by a friend of mine who supports Oxford we are interested in Michael Duberry, no idea where he heard it or if there is any truth in it but just thought I'd mention it.
15  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Ex-Cobblers in Euro 2012 squads on: May 09, 2012, 14:11:17 pm
Noticed that Marco Marin, the new Chelski import hasn't made the Germany squad either.  Roll Eyes

Pretty sure I read somewhere he has been injured all season so I'd imagine that is the reason.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The "Fourth Team in Sheffield Thread" on: May 06, 2012, 21:58:04 pm
In all honesty, found all that from the 12 year olds embarrassing..ok at first maybe..but lost any humour after the first twenty seconds.

Glad to see somebody agrees.
