Only 3 games remaining for this Saturday but if Crawley beat Shrewsbury in the bottom 4 clash that will send us into the bottom 4.

If you take the league position of the teams we have so far played we have had a tougher start than some as the average league position is 10th. The bottom 6 are cut adrift by 5 points  but so far we have only played 1 of our 10 games against them.

EFL Trophy games usually means all the the players not getting game time plus some youth team players taking part. I know we don't want to risk injuries in these games but would it be a good idea to play some of our players who have not hit top form (Hoskins, Pinnock etc) and to play a recognised defence to try and get them organised?.

Manny continues his love in with Hoskins and this season he has found another player to continuously criticise which is McGeehan, he clearly doesn't like our goal scorers. McGeehan on Saturday was the only player other than Roberts to get a 7 rating in the Chron with the others were getting 4 or 5 and he has regularly been 1 of the higher rated players. He now has 3 goals in 9 games and it has been a while since we had a player scoring regularly from midfield.
He might have scored a goal, BUT his lack of defensive cover has been partly to blame for us conceding 8 in the last 2.
Don’t give up your day job, as quoting the Chronic as proof of performance 😂

"Kasabian being run" is generous.............Leicester scored, Tom cheered, no one did anything and the police escorted him out as he gave everyone the V's.

I've no idea what happened, I just went with how some of the more excitable posters have described it over the years

Just listened back to the interview on iPlayer and on 37 mins in reply to Tim asking if Lee Burge should come for more crosses JB said “I don’t put any blame on him there” and goes on to say “no way am I, no chance, not on Burgey, and please don’t suggest it, definitely not”. So beyond criticism seems a reasonable interpretation to me.

Melly I believe the point JB was making that he was not going to be drawn into personal criticism of ‘Burgey’. I too believe JB was right to avoid the blame game.Curiously you avoid mentioning JB comment that he as Manager takes responsibility for the 4-1 defeat! Don’t fall into the hands of a notorious poster who delights in every loss!

It shouldnt be too long, before Calderwood gets mentioned..
That wasnt an instuction mate..  Grin

I would rather have brady in charge and replace the number two. Ever since calderwood has left the defence has been shaky, and this season it has gotten worse.

Bristol rovers, what an night..
and losing to Hereford from being 3-0 up at half time..

Getting dicked by Shrewsbury  2-7 was also memorable  Grin.

You have twice as much chance of securing a decent lower championship/upper league one striker at this level, than you do a decent keeper at this level.

Yeah people don't understand the fairly recent trend in the 3rd choice keeper that Prem/Champo clubs are signing causing a hole in a goalkeeping talent in the bottom two divisions. Fortunately the same clubs prefer to keep their 18 year old striker for an injury crisis rather than hoarding lower league strikers that will never play!

No doubt that Brady has done a great job with the budget he has been given since he has been in charge.

But....

This season he has arguably built the best squad we have had, so expectations are naturally higher, my main criticism of him has been his substitutions and in game tactics and his reliance on the old guard, he needs to be more ruthless once he learns / does that we will struggle to keep him, as I believe he has got the potential to manage a lot higher.

I get that we don't have 4 strikers who would walk into most league 1 sides or internationals etc but we have proved that we can go toe to toe with these teams, he just needs to work out how to keep the squad fit and firing every week.

I would rather have brady in charge and replace the number two. Ever since calderwood has left the defence has been shaky, and this season it has gotten worse.

I don't agree with managers criticising players openly either - that's for us to do! However, if we've seen the same interview, JB says at one point that he takes responsibility for the defensive issues and that it's down to him to sort it out, so I really don't get the point about him suggesting he's beyond criticism.
