we could do a lot worse and I'm not convinced we'd be better off with someone else.

Absolutely. We can't cast a shadow of doubt over him because of the Kettering result. We had a bad day, they had a good one. We are where we are on merit, certainly not because of a huge budget. So it is fair to say that he is doing well overall.

What's this ranking based on?

From the Wikipedia page in the last 40 years, based on win % only Carr, Calderwood, Wilder and Wilson are above him. Of those, Carr and Wilder were definitely better. There's 18 managers below him in that time, including Atkins and Gray who had some success here.

Regardless, I don't think grading managers on pure statistics is that worthwhile since it misses context such as budget and relative opposition strength.

I'd rate Carr and Wilder as better managers, but Brady would definitely by my third pick. Things haven't gone well over the last month or so, but looking back at recent names (Hasselbaink, Page, Boothroyd, Johnson....) we could do a lot worse and I'm not convinced we'd be better off with someone else.

Billy Connolly once said "You can prove anything with facts"

So if you take the stats away and go on pure experiences that each manager gave us, before it went pear shaped for most of them.

I would go

Carr
Atkins
Wilder
Calderwood
Brady
Wilson
Curle
Foley
In my time watching.

I was too young to comment on Dodgin, and of course some of the older old gits here will say Bowen.

The FACTS are. You can hardly put a fag paper between Brady (16th) and the man he replaced Curle (17th) in the all-time managers list.

Is that a typo and if not can someone get a tape out again?

In fact, can someone get a tape out again either way?

Roberts was absolute class...just gutted he couldn't play against Kettering due to his brain fart v Lincoln...

Dobson gets my vote though, with two lovely "strikers" finishes...still can't fathom why he wasn't thrown on against Kettering!

Great post Worthless, and thats not even talking about reporting and sending internal correspondence directly to the club, etc etc
was it co-incidence that all this interest and taking over the Trust was ecactly at the time when KT thought the Trust had £3m in their account?

The sole purpose to me was for them to remove John and myself from the board because we are the ones poking our noses in and asking questions. remember it was John who got the evidence and info on the secret Chinese deal etc etc

Tom tried to sweet talk the board individually and as a group and then insisted that John be removed from whatsapp and certain meetings. When we refused, he left.

The other issue was I asked for evidence that the club / fans were getting a good deal from the owners, that they wanted to invest and make a better football club, rather than do the bear minimum in the best interests of themselves and their investment.
of course they can't, as no-one on here can today.

Sorry to bombard you Derek but perhaps I should raise another topic of confusion. You and others associated with the board have always claimed the owners are not really interested in the football club and were only here to make a quick profit. You claim above that there is evidence that the owners made a profit from the collapse of the 5U sport deal which took place in 2018. You have previously claimed the revenue from the collapse was around £6.5 million. Yet at the time of the collapse the clubs filed accounts suggest the debt to the owners was I believe to be between circa 3 and 4 million. So had they have walked away at that point they would have been looking at a profit of between 2.5 and 3.5 million plus whatever they would have sold the club for. Given that fact, can you offer an explanation as to the contradiction between your promoted assertions and that possibility?
