Team: Matt Duke, Daniel Alfei, Gregor Robertson, Zander Diamond, Lee Collins, Lawson D'Ath (trialist), Andre Boucard (trialist), Andy Robinson (trialist), Kaid Mohamed, John-Joe O'Toole, Ivan Toney.

Three midfield trialists in there, which seems a bit strange - I thought the midfield was probably the most set-in-stone area of the pitch for us.
In other news, Langmead is injured and will miss the start of the season. It also seems that Horwood might be out of action aswell - he isn't even on the bench today.

1-0 HT.......Eastleigh feature an ex-Cobblers central defensive partnership of Reid and Beckwith.

Info on trialists :
Lawson D'Ath Reading 5’ 8” Midfield
Andre Boucard 5’ 10”Midfield unattached ex Kettering,York,Peterborough,Luton,WW etc
Andy Robinson  Shrewsbury 5’ 8” Winger ,Tranmere ,  Swansea (192 appearances, won League One , Football League Trophy) and Leeds
Seen Robinson play against the Cobbs - seemed pretty useful.

Just from reading the match report and on no other evidence whatsoever it seems like this D'Ath fella had the sort of creative influence that maybe we have been lacking.

"Northampton went close again on the 7th minute after D’Ath checked inside his marker and swung in a left footed cross which evaded everybody and flicked off the back post and away to safety."

"D’Ath was in behind the defence again moments later, and his left footed cross from the by-line was slid home by the on-rushing John-Joe O’Toole to put the Cobblers into a 1-0 lead after 8 minutes"

"D’Ath then played in Mohamed over the top but the winger hit the side netting from a tight angle."

"Moyo had a chance to make it 2-0 on 77 minutes after a well-disguised pass from D’Ath put him in, but his shot was saved by the keeper."

Wilder said he was impressed with Hornby when he played against Oxford, he also said he is keen to get him into the first team

Thought he sounded useful from following the text on Cobblers Wall.
Assume it would be a loan from Reading if he came here.

Looking at the highlights they seemed to be all over us like a rash!

It was a strange starting line up, I thought the idea of a final pre season game against a side with similar ability would be to test our likey starting 11...  Huh?
