A good teacher is no use If he/she cannot control the class.

There were two instances 2nd half when a defender bashed the ball out for a corner under the nose of Archer. He's mute. Which is the biggest problem.

His record in goal and the consequent slump in our results is a fact.

I saw him for the first time at Newport and it was clear that he would prove to be a problem with his total lack of control of his area and the unsettling effect on the defenders in front of him. I 'd hoped his selection was a temporary necessity !

His only attribute is his kicking and distribution and perhaps, occasional shot stopping capabilities. Opposing forwards must be rubbing their hands at the prospect of facing him.

We've belatedly dropped Alfei ....now for Archer , why Duke is not in goal amazes me....there must be more to this than meets the eye , can only conjecture , maybe Contract or money related issues !

People talk about the return of Duke as if he's a Mark Bunn or a Lee Nichols. He's not and his return will not alone make any difference to our results.

It will help though. Duke, along with Diamond and Rico ,are the players we have really missed.

I agree, Duke can have his moments. But Archer's lack of command of his area, and surprisingly poor positional play for a (Premier League) keeper, really hasn't done us any favors.
As for the full back position. Why the hell didn't we keep McSweeney? Undecided

So why's he on the bench? Archer could get injured in the 1st minute, what happens then?
Also I'm pretty sure he is fully fit, just Wilder is having a brainfreeze.

Manager believes that he is the better option?

I think, bizarrely Wilder said, he'd done well and deserved his place. Up to that point, I thought we'd finally got a manager with commonsense.

I wanted Snedker in goal weeks ago.

So according to some people, we now have an unfit goal keeper on the bench and a fit one in the stands (who was put out on loan to enable us to 'borrow' a 2nd rate kid from a prem team who has let in 23 goals in 11 games)

Sorry, don't buy that. If Duke's not fit, then Snedker should be at least in the matchday 18. That surely cannot be debated?

You must have a good defence even if you are scoring lot's of goals because no matter how good your are up front, you will not score in every game. There will be sides that will stop you.

To be fair he's aiming that comment at me!

Anyway. I based my title predictions on an ability to score loads of goals coupled with some reasonable defensive capability. I had no idea we would go through a patch of games with a substandard keeper and a useless right back who combined have cost us several points.

Even taking those two out of the equation..and neither selection has been forced on Wilder...we would be on the edge of the playoffs and still in touch with the leaders.

That's how I see it. I'm one very frustrated Cobbler at the moment, the team selections have baffled me because in many instances I see players on the bench who should be starting and vice versa which would have made a hell of a difference...
