Maybe I'm being naive but I still feel like O'Toole just about has enough profile for us to be able to move him on if that's what we decide to do. He's clearly a talented player, I'm sure Wilder wont be the last manager to think he can get the best out of him.
Quick, Call Brendan Rodgers now.

I'm a bit surprised by this to be honest. He was very good against Luton and even better against Wimbledon.

It is ironical isn't it! Thats exactly what I thought... Im guessing that its more to do with off the pitch stuff, but that is pure speculation. In both the above games you mention, he was harshly subbed and I put down his coming off at Luton as the turning point in that match that cost us the game.

Unfortunately for John-Joe and for us he's already built up a history of unceremonious departures from previous employers. It would appear he was little more than a joke figure at Colchester Untied by the time he departed and their fans were happy to be shot of him. And despite having his most productive season by far last year he'd very publicly burned his bridges with the majority of Bristol Rovers fans and staff alike long before the season was over. We knew he was a loose cannon when we signed him I guess the hope was he would fire straight more often than not and give us some much needed creative spark. In reality it looks like the powder may have gone damp and I think we'll do well to offload.

That was my thought too Shane. Because he's definitely started to impress on the field. This may just be a kick up the arse for him though from Wilder because he knows there is a better player than we've seen on a regular basis so far.

I think he was better in those two games but I certainly wouldn't say he was impressive. He showed more desire than previously has been the case, but let's be honest that is a low bar.
I agree that he may still have enough profile to get another club. Not on the money or length of contract he is on here though. Consequently he will cost us a considerable sum, but is better out of the club than in it.
A big mistake of a signing. Wilder chucked everything he had left at this financially to desperately try and get him. In particular the length of contract offered to a player of such reputed instability looks rash at best. Arrogant at worst.

It goes back even further than that - the rumours of 'inappropriate consumption' had already started at Watford. My guess is that this is 'last chance saloon' time for JJ - let's hope he can stir himself to do something about it - it's a harsh working world out here with the rest of us.

A midfield of Thornton, Guttridge, O'Toole and Demontagnac would make for an interesting game.
Just saying like.......

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

Chris Wilder post match: "We are looking a stronger group and I thought John-Joe's reaction to our comments was first class. John-Joe really drove the game forward for us in the second half and if he keeps working hard then he can be a really big player for us"

Maybe we should get the opposition centre back to kick JJ's pony tail more often!

I think he has had only one game (Mansfield) when he was played in the number 10 role behind a striker.
Hardly any wonder we've not got the best from him.

You don't have to play in just one position to look interested.

Agreed. And he's on three years during which time the club will play 150 plus games of which we have only played twenty so far. If Wilder wants rid already that's pretty poor decision making on his part.
