Does anyone actually know why the Wolves deal fell through in the end ?
Not sure if true but I heard rumors of a failed medical, probably not true but its what I heard

Failed medical do me a favour ... he played for us the week after.....I believe the fee was agreed with Wolves but the Toney camp wanted more wages than they were prepared to pay.

I don't think either toney or dath will be Northampton players next season. They will be able to better themselves elsewhere, If someone offers £500,000 for toney we should bite their hands off, fact is he isn't that good and hasn't lived up to his billing from last season. In reality if we were to receive £500,000 and were to reinvest the lot in a deal to replace Ivan toney we could in theory buy a decent promiership youngster for that and there will be plenty of young prem strikers you could buy for £500,000 twice as good as toney.* If rate dath a more valuable asset than toney and arguably more difficult to replace being a decent standard playmaker.
I know in reality it would be an undisclosed fee and we would replace him with a striker signed on an undisclosed fee giving the fanbase no idea of what % of income was being put back into the playing squad.

I find it amazing how we talk down our players. Accrington are quoting £1M for Josh Windass who is nearly 3 years older than Ivan Toney and has scored 6 goals this season, including penalties, yet our "fans" say Toney isn't worth half of that despite scoring more goals and being a lot younger If Toney played for the Blue Scum down the Nene they would be talking of £2M for him.

I heard why it failed from staff at Wolves.
Are you going to let us in on what you've heard then ??

I also don't get why people are so negative around ivan. 10 goals in his first season is solid IMO. I hope he dosnt go, improves with us and scores plenty more for us.
If he does go then i hope he goes on to have a great career. All this he hasn't lived up to his billing stuff is rubbish. He came in and played a huge part in our survival over 3 games or so, teams now have plans to stop him, he was never going to carry on that sort of form.

Fans are very rarely honest in there valve of a player at there club, a lot fall in love with the idea that a player will be worth x amount. its all romantic figures that all fans have about any young play at there football club.

To be able to make those assessments, you must have been attending at Sixfields?

I heard why it failed from staff at Wolves.
I heard a very plausible version of why it failed and it wasn't to do with the medical.

I find it amazing too. I think Ivan Toney is a talented young player who is going to get better with experience.
