Have to say I thought we got out of jail a bit today, but more than happy with a draw away to what looks like a decent York side.
We seemed to lack a bit of width, playing too much down the middle. Toney looked out of sorts, but responded well to the meat heads trying their hardest to wind him up.
What an equaliser at the end though..
All in all a good day.

That fantastic free kick definitely sprung us from Jail mate. In fact 90th minute equalisers can almost feel like a winning goal. Probably going to have to play better to get a draw at Pompey in the week. Now, can I resist travelling down... Yeah probably.

We were always going to miss Hackett which made it an even stranger decision to drop Mohamed, let's hope the former isn't out for too long.

Yeah, the lack of width was very evident after the first few minutes.
But as I keep saying...there's so many goals and a fair few match winners/savers in our team. We can play crap but still get a result.
A win and a draw...plus league cup progression... We would have all taken that a week ago! As for Rico's goal, I initially thought it had hit the side netting. Belated celebrations!

It is often said in football chat that if you are good you often win or draw when you do not play well, this seems to have been us yesterday, if you keep plugging away, you make your own luck. We did this yesterday, Well done all, a very good point I think and what a free kick!

Think Mohamed and D'Ath changed it yesterday. Direct running really upped our tempo in the second half. Kaid makes things happen, has to start on Tuesday along with Lawson.

It was a bit flat yesterday but huge progress over this time last year. This team has seasoned lower league pros together with some flair, youth and potential and WILL get better. Really don't want to single him out, but the one weak link again yesterday was at RB - offered nothing going forward and shaky defensively, and god only knows why he ducked under their goal scoring corner. Also like about this team that we have quality off the bench - both K-Mo and D'Ath made a big impact when they came on. I'd like to see Tozer back in at RB when we go back to 4-4-1-1

Agreed, Tozer should get the nod on Tuesday if it's a back4. Or Hackett if it's wing backs again assuming he's fit. Alfi's had 2poor games in succession...

Info please. What's wrong with Hackett this time ? He does seem to get injured pretty regularly , is he becoming a bit of a liability ? He must be tying up a big chunk of budget to be unavailable a lot of the time.

I'm in a bad mood so explain to me why this is a different thread to the York one - or different rules for mods - I'm ok with that, just curious Nigel?

Who's ever said that anything and everything has to go in the match thread? We've always had spin off threads from match days.
....a reply below par and not befitting of your normal wit - the opening post was not a spin off it was a direct reference to the game, the result and manner of play so I demand it is moved!
