The simple fact and without spin is that we've lost twice this season out of 6...one away to easily the biggest club in the division and one away to a side 2 divisions higher than us!

Crickey, I was all doom and gloom for much of last season but some of you lot take things to a different level. I don't get it. Why not see how we get on during the next few weeks before slitting your wrists? We've got some very good league2 players and we are a new team. Sure there are cracks in the side, but it does take a bit of time to produce a good side relative to whatever level you are at.

And this post is brought to you from one of the clubs fiercest critics over the last few years!

Without spin we haven't won in the last 4.
A few weeks ago you assured us that we wouldn't need time to gel with a pre-season behind us. You don't 'arf change your mind.  Wink

Far from time to have a decent picture of how it'll pan out yet, although anyone predicting Champions elect may already be reconsidering their views.

Rotherham, Doncaster, Bournemouth Peterborough Brentford MK etc are long term clubs, we are and will be for some time a hand to mouth lowly survivalist kind of club.

I love how you bleat on about 'long term clubs' whilst jumping up and down demanding short term success like a child on sherbert.

It's quite simple: the redevelopment began at the start of this summer. There is clearly a long term plan in place. We can judge the success of that plan in two-three years time. Until then, I suggest we stick to constructive criticism of the club's decision making and avoid slitting our wrists when we lose away to a Championship club in a fairly meaningless cup competition.

I don't go with the meaningless cup competition malarky. It didn't feel meaningless when I was at Anfield that night, it felt f***ing brilliant! I suppose the 350 or so fans that made their way to Bournemouth the Tuesday night might have felt that way afterwards but certainly not before!

There is indeed a plan in place.....just one that only a small number of people are prepared to buy into for one reason or another! Like you say, we can only wait and see what happens.
No "wrist-slitting" going on here about losing away at a Championship club, but I will take issue with the "fairly meaningless cup competition" statement. I'm still of the view that the Cups can prove to be very beneficial financially to smaller clubs. Its obvious that the big boys don't take it very seriously.....hence the weakened squads and lower gates, but potentially there is a chance for us little clubs to make a significant, and maybe season defining amount of money from them. I'm sure the donkeys are basking in the glory of the result they got the other night...plus the gate revenue, TV money, merchandising money and longer term maybe a few extra bums on seats. Now they have drawn Bradford at home and must be looking at that as a chance to progress even further.
Bradford themselves pulled in money both on the gate and through the TV last night......and think of the momentum the cup run a couple of seasons ago gave them, culminating in them battering us in the play-off final!

So meaningless?? I'm not in agreement!

I did say that there wouldn't be a gelling period due to a full pre-season behind us.

However I assumed that it would be obvious too all that there would be a mousse/styling period!

Next time I read a redevelopment post that isn't in the relevant thread, like I said the other week, I'll just hand out a ban for a few days.
Marvo I don't think you were active when I said this so ignore it. Cricketside certainly was though.

I deleted it but it was the second comment along the lines of "if only we had 12,000 ground we'd have won" or something similar
